  1. Just got back from Aruba on the Harmony of the Seas.  We booked the sailing tour with Dushi Life Sailing from the above link.  This was my first experience with sailing on a sailboat.  It was an amazing experience!  Alan was great and made it a relaxing and wonderful day.  There were only 4 of us on our tour, the other 4 that had booked had to cancel.

  2. Thanks! This is a bucket list trip for several in our group. It will probably be a one time opportunity to visit Alaska so I really want to make sure they experience as much as possible. We are doing a Land Tour for four days before the cruise so the energy levels might be low by the time we get to Ketchikan. 😊

  3. I am traveling with an older group of folks and three have mobility issues. I haven't visited Alaska before but on previous cruises have had luck finding private tours that can show us around and tell us about the local culture and history of the area we are visiting. Also on a private tour it seems you have more flexibility for those who can't walk a lot. I am thinking if we do a tour for a few hours we can spend the remainder of the day on Creek Street and in the area close to the ship. Again I am not familiar with the area so I could be off base with my plan. I appreciate any suggestions you have.

  4. Does anyone know of a good private tour to do in Ketchikan? We are a group of 8 going in July and would like to get away from the crowded ship excursions. Totem poles and the rainforest area are 2 of the must see items. I have read old post about Wild Wolf Tours but nothing recent. Has anyone used them?

  5. Thank you for all the information. We do have a couple of folks who are in early 80's so the seating might be an issue. I appreciate the advance warning. We can pick up our car rental at 8:30am so I think we will have plenty of time to get there early. We had planned on visiting Lahaina any way so the beach service will be perfect. From the website it looked like shorts and capris would be ok. Since we will be out exploring that day it would be nice to not have to take along a change of clothes. Sounds wonderful. Can't wait.

  6. I have booked One Love One Spirit for May in Kona. They came highly recommended from my boss. The website is oneloveonespirit.com or call them at 808-987-0359. Again I haven't used them yet but I have called a couple times with questions and they have been great so far. They don't pick you up at the pier but I was told cabs are readily available at the port. We are a group of 4 and will be on a shared charter for 6 so they keep it to a small group. Lunch is included. I will try to post a review when we get back. Hope this helps.

  7. Thanks Southern girl,

We port in Kahului, I will google Calvary Chapel and see if I can find the service times. A beach side service sounds wonderful. I will be with a group and I know they will enjoy it. What a special Mothers Day right! How long do you think it will take to get there from the port?

  8. We will be sailing on Pride of America in May. We will get to Maui at 8am on Mothers Day and would really like to attend a church service. We are renting a car and so not sure how long that will take. Does anyone know of a church close to port or one that we could get to in time for services? One that doesn't mind visitors. Thanks for any help you can give.

  9. Thanks everyone for your quick response. I am traveling with a group that mostly is in their 70's. It might be more difficult for them to get birth certificates, marriage license for name changes etc. I am organizing the trip and don't want to make any mistakes. :)

  10. Can anyone tell me if you need more than a drivers license for check-in on Pride of America if you are a US citizen? We won't be traveling outside of the US. I called the NCL reservation number with a different question and the rep said we need 2 proof of identity documents to board the ship. On the NCL website I understand it to say you just need a valid drivers license. Don't want any surprises when we board the ship. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

  11. I am traveling with a group total of 8 of us. We will be flying into Boston the afternoon before our cruise and staying at the Double Tree. I am wondering if we take taxis from the airport to hotel will 2 taxis be enough? How much is a taxi to that area it is close to Chinatown.

Also if anyone can tell me if the beginning of the Freedom Trail is within walking distance from the hotel? What about the Boston Commons is it close enough to walk and safe for a group of ladies on a Saturday afternoon?

One more question, we are boarding the ship on Sunday, wondering if there would be a Church close to the hotel that we could attend services at before going to the ship. Any Christian denomination would work.

    Thanks in advance.:)

  12. We originally had the Embassy Suites booked for 6 in a room on Oct. 18th but then added two to our traveling party. Since we no longer needed the room for 6, I booked 2 rooms at Double Tree. We will be staying one night pre cruise. I am wondering if I made a poor choice. We are a group with a few older ladies ie..70&80. None require walkers or canes and are in good health. So if anyone can answer here are a couple questions;

    1. Is the hotel in a safe area? It is supposed to be on the edge of the Theatre district close to Chinatown.

    2. Will there be much to do in walking distance? Our plane gets in at 2pm so we should have some time that evening.

    3. The hotel does not have a shuttle bus. Are there shuttle companies that would pick us up at the airport take us to the hotel and then to port the next day? We are a group of 8.

    4. Can we and how hard would it be to take the T to the hotel. We have never been to Boston before and would really appreciate any advice.

Ok a couple more than a few questions:)
