Our very first cruise was on Carnival, mainly because I could not figure out how to see total prices on the other cruise lines websites!
We had a blast and have had a great time every cruise since the first.
I've checked out some of the lines with newer 'mega' ships and they look too 'busy' for me. I don't get on a cruise ship to feel like I'm standing in the middle of a mall or a park. I want to look and see the ocean. If I wanted to go to an amusement park, Six Flags is a few hours drive from my house. I don't want to have to plan out where, when and what I'm eating for a week before I even leave my house.
We love Carnival. We are laid back casual people that go on vacation to relax and forget about the stresses of daily life. Carnival lets us do that.

We were not able to get it for our last cruise, which was over New years on the Dream. But the staggered check-in they implemented in New Orleans was great and outside of not being able to drop our carry-ons off in our cabin, we didn't miss it.
We did purchase it for our upcoming cruise at the end of the month because we are driving down the morning of the cruise and have no idea how traffic will be. I don't want to miss our boarding time and have to be held up until they have time to check us in. They keep releasing more for this cruise. Almost every week it seems someone posts that fttf is available for our cruise.
$100 is my breaking point for paying for fttf. Once it gets over $100, I will not purchase it.

My husband drinks A LOT! He mostly gets buckets of beer. Me, just a few fruity drinks.
7 day cruise, 2 sea days at the beginning (plus embarkation day), 3 port days and then 1 sea day at the end.
Here is our breakdown
Day one (embarkation day) $164.08
Day two (sea day) $136.35
Day three (sea day) $39.58
Day four (port day) $14.40
Day five (port day) $43.89
Day six (port day) $ 116.12
Day seven (sea day) $ 99.58
Total $614
Cheers cost would have been $ 858.20
The above also includes coffee from the coffee shop and a few sodas. We also had family traveling with us and I know a time or two my sister and I went to get a drink and I just had them scan my card and pay for both drinks.
Our experience was just how I figured it would be when we decided not to get Cheers. We would drink a bunch the first couple days, not so much on the nights before port days and then quite a bit on the last few days.

Does anyone know if the balance left from a giftcard goes on your onboard account?
Say I owe $349.17 on my cruise and use a $500 carnival gift card to pay it. Does the 'change' stay on my account for that booking?
I have 4 cabins booked and aarp is out if the $100 cards. I was wondering if I'd be able to use some $500 cards and use the change to pay off the other ones. All 4 cabins only have small amounts left on them.

Have a mission for you. See how many cabin doors are decorated with pineapples.
It’s also a pretty entertaining thread. [emoji3]

Ugh!
I love pineapples and have many shirts and even flip flops with pineapples on them.
I recently found a clothing brand called 'Love and Pineapples' and purchased quite a few of their shirts.
Now I'm worried about wearing those shirts in public. [emoji15] [emoji23]

Back at Alchemy now. Something with tequila, vodka, coconut liquor, and fresh coconut water... No name, but I know it's about 80% alcohol

Thank you so much for your thoughts, now does anyone know if carnival grants an automatic 1 day grace period for final payment thank you in advance for your answers
I have seen before where people on here say it doesn't cancel until a day or two after final payment, and I've seen where people say its cancelled at midnight the night of. Any question you ask on here gets at least 6 different answers.
If you use a pvp, you might want to call and ask them.

Surely you've been cruising other lines in the 30 years since your last Carnival cruise? No way you meant you haven't cruised at all in 30 years, right?

It's usually within a week, at most 10 days for me in Louisiana.

If nobody said anything about the double sided menu I probably would’ve thought...”I guess they only beak out the Huevos Rancheros menu when you go to Mexico”

And this is your 8th cruise on carnival!
You poor thing. 😂😂😂
You can share finding out about the double sided menu for brunch on the 'what did you learn on your last Carnival cruise' post.

That is awful! Why didn't you use a credit card?
Long story short, we were at the end of what was a bad financial situation for us at that time and we didn't have funds available on credit cards to pay off 3 cruise fares. (Those checks were commission/bonus checks that were held up due to a company financial issue and were expected months before.)
And after those few horrible months we definitely needed that cruise! Life happens and everything worked out in the end. 🙂

I can only answer for early saver. We name changed after final payment and it was $150 to change the name. The rest of the already paid fare carried over. Hope that helps.

We were denied an extension for three cabins a few years ago. I needed the extension for 3 days because my bank put a 72 hour hold on the checks we deposited into our account to pay for the cruise. (Our fault we had the checks for a few days just waited until the last minute to deposit them in our account. We didn't know our bank would put a hold on them.)
After they cancelled it, they told me if they realized we had three cabins they would've granted the extension.

Not truth. It has cruises listed up to Dec 2020.
Lol! They must've just posted them last night or this morning because they were not available yesterday afternoon.
Still not available from every port yet (at least not New Orleans or Galveston).

I've been checking Carnivals site and you can only book up to April 2020, nothing after that. Does anyone know why?

Like others have said, the Moscato on the ship is really good. I buy that quite often. Another fave brand is Stella Rosa, they have original Moscato, Berry and Peach. All 3 are good.

Sangster's Rum in Jamaica!
New Brunch Menu
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Go read h_blond2's recent review of the Glory. At the end of page 3 and the beginning of page 4, she uploaded the funtimes. All 3 of her sea days had seaday brunch.
I usually sail out of New Orleans and Galveston and every sea day (usually 3) have had a seaday brunch.
