We just booked another cruise in October and Nassau is one of the ports. No kids this time so we are going to try it out again.

We were there a couple weeks ago. It was scary. . A few ladies tried to pick pocket my husband. He didn't have his wallet I had a cross body bag under my sweater with very little cash. In the alley by the $5 shop a very shady older man came out from behind a building pulling up him pants and didn't seem like he had just went to the bathroom. He was staring down 2 of the 4 teenager girls with us and kept circling them. We were a big group and walked away. I do not scare easy and my heart was pounding and I was so scared for my girls. We went back to the ship. I will be returning with my husband but in October but do not think we will be l leaving the ship. Pretty sad that carnival basically tells you it is not safe to leave the ship.

This is our group at dinner:
We loved the wait staff! Jorge, Putu and Alen were fantastic and knew our names every time we saw them around the ship. My daughter’s favorite thing about dinner was “Sshhhhowtime!!” Once you have gone on this cruise, you will know what I am talking about J
They had Pizza (yummy!) and the Deli (delicious!) at the back of the ship on the lido deck. This was also where the omelet making station was in the morning. There was hardly ever a line there. They also had Rotisserie Chicken and The Mongolian Stir Fry station (both very good) next to The Grille (hot dog, hamburger, etc). The line for the Grille was ALWAYS long! The Rotisserie station had Chicken, mashed potatoes and veggies. I almost always walked right up for food. The Panorama Bar & Grill had duplicated “comfort food” and sweets on each side. There is a nice salad bar in the middle with ice cream and frozen yogurt. Quick tip…grab a cup and fill it half way up with vanilla ice cream. Then fill the rest of the cup with lemonade and stir together. Amazing on a hot day!!
We discovered that when it is close to closing time for those selections, they would have one side closed and the other left open for a bit. Many people thought that it was closed all together and end up standing in the grill line.
The food was wonderful. The only thing I didn’t care for was the Lobster Bisque. Oh! And the coffee was terrible on the Lido Deck in the morning!! It wasn’t so bad in the main dining room. It was so bitter. I will bring my own coffee and creamer next cruise. Other than that, we ate until we couldn’t eat anymore! There was never a morsel wastedJ.
Here is some "Food Porn" for you viewing pleasure:
This is what I had the first night. I can't remember what it was, but it was awesome!
My Eggs Benidict in the main dining room. Get the sauce on the side so you know that is it made fresh :)
The Smoked Salmon
We just got off ecstasy on the 9th! We had Jorge and I-Putu as our waiters too. We loved them! I actually had I - Putu as a waiter in Alaska a couple years ago. I would love to cruise with them again.

You do it all at the kiosk using the adult's sail and sign card. They do not have access to change it if they are under 18. We had to set limits for my 13 year old sister after she spent $75 in the arcade.

You can do it on the ship at the kiosk. You can also set limits so they don't overspend.

My Aunt missed early saver by a couple days but when the price dropped almost $100 a week before final payment we did the early saver form and they discounted the cruise and sent a preform letter saying price drops only valid until final payment date.

We just got off the esctasy and had 15 people. We had our bookings all linked together and had early dining. Somehow one of the couples didn't get linked with us. We went to the matri-di the 1st night and he very happily corrected it for us. He said it was good we had set dining he would not have been able to seat us all together with the anytime it is too hard to hold tables all together to put groups that large together.

Thanks I just researched what we have. They are real id's. To prove we are citizens. I guess they need to train the drivers license place to tell people the right thing..
-
hmm.. I am not sure. We have to show all kinds of proof of ID's to renew our license and get a gold star on them. I was told it was an enhanced drivers license when I renewed mine, my step dad did as well.. Maybe it is something else and they are just referring to it as enhanced? I will look into that too..
UGH! Next trip everyone better have a darn passport!
-
Thanks! I just read on their policy that enhanced drivers license and government ID was ok. I know sometimes that can vary at the port.
I will let him know he needs to order it, ASAP. It is from Alabama. UGH! Why couldn't they have been born and married in Florida

If you open stockings first then presents
Fill her stocking with "carnival themed" items.. Just not carnival cruise. Things like bags of botton candy, clown nose, popcorn, and small animals to confuse her.
Then buy her a book on the places the cruise is going so she unwraps that with the other presents. I alway like to get books before we go on a cruise to read up on where we are going.
Make the last present a cruiser (toy car, I have seen generic ones at dollar tree that say cruiser) and tell her to cruise to her room or another room that has her boarding pass printed and waiting for her :)
-
If my mom has her drivers license and military ID will that be enough to board? She "thought" she had her marriage license and she doesn't. She was married in Ohio and they do not have online records, we are calling tomorrow to see if we can get a marriage license expedited, since her Birth certificate obiviously won't match her Drivers license.
Also, my step dad has the new enhanced drivers license (with the gold star from florida) and his military ID. Will he still need his Birth certificate?
Sorry for all the questions. Myself, my husband, and girls have passport cards so that is all we have ever used to board the ship.
Thanks!

We bring our own hole punch. My daughter 12/15 have their own lanyards they bought at Hot Topic they use for their cards. My husband and I both use lanyards too. It is just easier.

Can anyone recommend a specific brand or type?
We brought some on the Inspiration last year and although they advertised 20 mile radius... Uhh NO.

We use motorolla 27 mile radius. Have worked great on both the Spirit and Inspiration :)

Thanks for the review! We are traveling in a group of 15 in January. I love carnival but this is a 1st cruise for most traveling with us, and my 1st time on Ecstasy so I was a little worried.
Looks like it will be as great as the rest of our cruises with Carnival :)
-
Thanks! I will go with a bathing suit:) I will bring an extra just for the steam room/sauna.
-
My personal trainer said that it would be great to use the steam room and sauna for 10 minutes each per day followed by a cold shower. We are going on the Spirit. I have never done either, so sorry if this is a stupid question.
Is it ok to wear a bathing suit? I googled what to wear and couldn't find a real answer. I know to bring a towel to sit on but that was all I could find on what peope wear. I wouldn't be comfortable if I was sitting in there surrounded with other women wearing nothing.

You can add her online but you still have to get the limits on board. Be careful with cash they will still let you go over and send you a bill the last night
