  1. 8 day Conquest is two port days, one sea day, two port days and two sea days.

Second to last night is a sea day.

We are leaving next Saturday on the 8 day Conquest cruise and I was wondering the same thing. I’m thinking second port day and second last sea day.

I hope you had a great cruise. We are doing this itinerary and was wondering when your elegant nights were... trying to plan a steakhouse night.

    Thanks!

  2. Well, it's not until next year, but trying to plan ahead to figure out my budget. Looking at this year's rates to get an idea...

    Dates would be either Monday

night or Tuesday night the week before thanksgiving. Not the week off thanksgiving. So Nov 14th or 15th

  3. Hi there! We are doing a reposition cruise and need some advice.

We will be cruising in November. We will be flying to the start of the cruise from FLL but ending our cruise in Miami. I am looking for a hotel that will do all 3 of these things...

    A) shuttle me to FLL airport

    B) pick me up from Miami cruise port (I understand this may include additional fees)

    C) let me park my car for 14 days

Preferably in the $100-150 range, but willing to go up to $200. And if it includes continental breakfast that is a major plus [emoji6]

    Thanks in advance!! [emoji2]

  4. We are going on a cruise in May (breeze! Love her!)

We are trying to plan going on the Vista reposition cruise from NY to Miami next November.

I'm a little nervous waiting another 2.5 months to book, as I don't want the prices to jump...and I don't want them to run out of family balconies...

but we are thinking of booking onboard.

My question is, since it's not a 12 day (it's 11), will I only get $100 OBC instead of $200? Also, do I still get a certificate for someone else to book? (My mom is thinking about coming as well)

If we do not book on the ship, it will probably still be about a month before we can book. Is it worth it to wait the other 5-6 weeks and do it onboard?

What would you guys do as far as waiting to book?

  5. Bulldawg is correct.

If you cancel for a "covered" reason, then you would get max amount covered returned.

If you cancel for a non covered reason (babysitter backs out), then you would be exercising the Cancel For Any Readon portion of the policy.

Almost all policies only reimburse from 50% to 75% of losses.

A couple of caveats with CFAR.

Usually must purchase within X number of days after initial trip deposit.

Usually must exercise more than 48 hours prior to trip departure.

Some cruiseline issued policies automatically include CFAR and reimburse a future cruise credit rather than money back. This cruise credit is usually 75% to 90% depending on cruiseline.

Thank u for clarifying this! I found a policy on insuremytrip that goes up to 75%. I don't plan on canceling but sometimes things can happen! We just booked yesterday, so I know I need to get the insurance within 14 days to get the CFAR. I really appreciate the help! Carnival's is so pricey compared to the other places!

  6. The cancel for any reason allows you to cancel for reasons not otherwise covered by trip cancellation (read the policy details). With that rider, you can cancel if you just don't want to make the trip or some other conflict not otherwise covered comes up.

I was trying to find that. I just couldn't find it.

We are going on a 6 night kidless cruise. I just wanted the cancel for any reason in case my mom backs out (which I think is very unlikely) but I don't like the idea that I only get UP TO 50% back.... :-/

  7. Personally I always go with Travelgard Gold.

However, those options that confuse you, are the very reason why there are different policies out the.

99.99% of the time people complain about a travel insurance policy is because the policy wasn't designed to cover their particular loss and/or claim.

    For example

You miss your connection because of a 4 hour flight delay.

Problem is that your particular policy does not cover unless the flight delay was 6 hours or longer.

    Those little things are important.

Just something to know that I didn't know when I first started.

Travel insurance is all reimbursement based. In other words, you have a medical/dental/emergency flight needs,,,,, you pay out of pocket.

    Then,,,,you file for reimbursement.

Can I ask you a question? Im looking at travel guard gold right now. It has 100% trip cost/trip cancellation is on the the coverage list. But I can add cancel for any reason for another $30. But thats only "up to 50%" reimbursement. But what the heck is the difference?

  8. Well, yabbotou really will not know you are on "St. John". You anchor off the beach, and most people snorkle and swim from the cat.

Some people will go to the beach and lay around and swim.

I see no reason you could not take your camera on the dinghy to the beach. I always put my camera in a zip lock baggie anyway.

Here is a picture of the beach. To the right is where the snorkeling reefs were:

WOW!!!!!! I have been thinking about this excursion and going back and forth on what I wanted to do....But that picture just sold me! How beautiful!!!

    thank u for sharing!

  9. I'll let you know how she is when we sail on her in January....we specifically picked that sailing because it's six days with only 2 ports of call in Grand Turk and Montego Bay, giving us an extra day at sea to enjoy all that the Breeze has to offer. With so many different lunch choices, it will be difficult to choose. I think we'll do the Punchliners Brunch as soon as it opens at 900 or 930 on the sea days, so we'll still be able to have a Guy's Burger or pasta at the cucina del capitano or BBQ at Jimmy's C-Side or a bowl from the Mongolian Wok around 200 or 230...LOL.

I'm super excited about our itinerary...we have 8 nights and FOUR sea days! 2 of them bring the last 2 days! We should have plenty of time to try everything! I want to try it all! ESP guys burger and bonsai! Yum!!

  10. We are on the first cruise(s) out of Miami and I'm am planning on doing a very in-depth review once we get back.

Well.... I'm at least going prepared to create a review with lots of photos/video. DW & I bought a better camera so I'm learning how to use it now. Plus will have my Kodak HD video camera.

I have my iPad loaded up with a note taking app so I can do a better job of documenting what we do each day. :D

I sure have enjoyed some of the better reviews on CC and hope I can make a better go of it than my previous review attempts.

Where is the LIKE button? I can't wait to read some caribbean reviews!!

  11. We never experienced any crowds on the ship at all. A few times we did have to wait in line to get back onto the ship, but it went pretty quickly.

Prior to sailing on the Breeze, Carnival's Miracle was my all time favorite, but I will now say that I think the Breeze has her beat.

    Here's my daughter's cabin, 7320, which is a balcony.

I LOVE the color scheme!!!! We are booked in a balcony. OMG CAN'T WAIT!!!!

  12. It seems like we received our flowers from Angel's Accents so so long ago and I am finally getting around to sharing the pictures. Right now we are in the midst of funeral preparations for my fiance's uncle which is this evening. As I print out the programs I figured let me do some CC catching up to lighten my spirits. Enjoy!

P.S. They look so much better in person, they feel real and they smell so good!

    In order:

    1. all (except boutonniere which we forgot to put on the table)

    2. cake topper

    3. corsage (one for each of our moms)

    4. my bouquet (bridesmaid size)

    5. my bouquet

    6. my bouquet

    7. daughter's bouquet (we did a junior brides maid size even though she is our maid of honor)

    8. daughter's bouquet

    9. daughter's bouquet

    10. my fiance's bouquet (bridesmaid size)

    11. my fiance's bouquet

    12. my fiance's bouquet

Beautiful!! Love how colorful they are!! They look really real! Starting to regret trusting A Wedding For You with my flowers.... Hope they are are nice as everyone's silk flowers!

  13. I would either 1. show someone how to use your camera...or 2. designate one person to take nonstop pictures (luckily that's what my friend did). I asked everyone (in general) to make sure they took alot of pictures...and only one's pulled through thus far offering them up! I literally only took 10 pictures on my camera during the reception!

You need to stress the importance of having these pictures to a select few attending the wedding. Honestly, if it weren't for the pictures my friend got, i'd be devestated!

You were absolutely beautiful in your dress! I love that dress! Im sorry you had all that confusion before the wedding, i would be freaking out, but you handled it well and had an amazing wedding!

I am budgetting $1500 for the pictures but that still only includes the cd of my pictures purchased.... I have also paid my aunt's cabin's tips as a "payment" for her bringing her really nice camera and taking a ton of pictures. We will then hook her camera to a laptop and look at the pictures before we meet with the photographer! I'm hoping paying $120 for her tips will save me $1000!!!!! I have a scanner so i'm fine with just buying a few 8X10s and scanning them onto my computer....

Anyways, thanks so much for your review, lots for us to think/and plan for (esp the luggage and photo stuff!).

Congrats again on a beautiful wedding!!!!

  14. Thanks for this review! Its the same cruise I will be taking in oct. Getting married onboard in key west! I like seeing pictures of the ship and ports so I know what to expect and it makes me so excited!

I sure hope they fix this bed bug problem! As of right now, I'm in 7392 which doesn't seem very far from u! Just thinking about it is making me itchy! But we are hopefully upgrading to a suite, but still.... Better get that under control!
