When is your cruise, are you just looking to cancel all together or are you eligible for one of the offers?

I have seen a few options in the last week or so:

    https://www.carnival.com/request-forms/reimbursement-form.aspx

    This option to cancel online

Log into your Carnival account-Look for Red Banner/Flag that says XX days till cruising and click

On the top of the page look for “Booking & Order Details”, look for “your bookings”

Next to the “Paid In Full” choose “View Balance Details” and look for “View Cancellation Information”.

This is also where you should see the total that you are going to be getting for your FCC

*The most recent offer issued due to Carnival canceling, I don't have the form, it is apparently being emailed to guests affected

Seen but not sure if it's valid >>There is also a tweet from Carnival floating around that says if you made any changes on or after 3/1 we will honor the refund or new FCC offer. Please email guestcare@carnival.com to have this adjusted (email booking # and request)

You can ABSOLUTELY CAN cancel and re-book online, if you know what cruise you want to change to you would have to put a deposit down on that cruise. Once you've done that you send in the form that was linked in the letter/email Carnival sent out.

    https://www.carnival.com/request-forms/reimbursement-form.aspx

You can also just cancel online and YES it will say the penalty is the full amount, but due to the exception Carnival is making you will get that amount as a FCC. Carnival is well aware of what cruisers qualify for the offer, plenty of people have canceled using this method and not one of them has come back to say it didn't work.

This is also where you should see the total that you are going to be getting for your FCC (THIS WILL SHOW IT AS A PENALTY) it is not, you will get your FCC-Minus prepaid items which will go to your original form of payment. Carnival Insurance will not be refunded

How do I cancel on line? I went on my cruise manager page and could not find any place to click in a cancellation. Phone lines are out at Carnival.

Assuming you're cancelling under the new policy (letter/email rec'd from Carnival), if so you absolutely can cancel this way, even though it says "your penalty will be XXXX" Carnival will process as a FCC.

  4. Within the email/letter from Carnival there was a link to cancel and re-book, the form which I attached will ask for your old info and the new booking info which you won't have if you haven't deposited a new cruise.

    https://www.carnival.com/request-forms/reimbursement-form.aspx

Several people have said you can cancel online through your cruise documents, however people seem to be turned away once it says that the penalty for cancelling is the total of your cruise costs. From what others who have done it said, it knows to apply the amount to a FCC and the non eligible items to your credit card/other form of payment.

Just be aware you have until 3 days before your cruise to do this, I personally wasn't ready to book so I went through a PVP that I had used in the past and he took care of it via emai.

Thank you ever so much.  I've been looking for a concise explanation for what happens.

    You are very welcome!

Taking it a bit further, did you book a new cruise yet with the credit?

     I haven't booked a new cruise  yet.

I'm looking for someone who did who received an OBC of 'up to $500' because the 'new' cruise (and by that i mean strictly the Cruise Rate and not all the other fees that were refundable) was cheaper than the original one.  If you did... did you do it online?  Did you have to phone to talk to someone to book the new one or do you just get a 'credit bank' or something in your account?

If you know what you're booking you can do it online using the form that was linked at the bottom of the offer letter from Carnival. If you don't have it, let me know and I can get you the link.

I actually outreached to a Carnival PVP that I used many years ago via email and even though I booked this cruise on my own he promptly replied and was able to cancel my booking, process the refund to my cc for the items not included in the FCC. I wanted to do it this way so I could take time to re-book and being on hold for hours wasn't something I wanted to do. He was able to do what I wanted in a matter of minutes and when I am ready to book I would have to call Carnival to apply the FCC. Since he was so helpful I will use him for the rebooking, the ease of reaching him was key.

Do you have to pay for the new one with deposit and then contact before March 31 to get your credit or will they know you canceled and apply it automatically?  I don't want to be caught on the 31st unable to get through.

If you know what cruise you want, you could definitely just use the form once you've deposited the new cruise, you will need the new info to process the cancel/rebook online. I wouldn't wait too long, I don't think you would run into a problem but you don't want to wait till the last day.

If you want to bounce anything off of the PVP that helped me, he would definitely help ease your mind and explain all your options. If you are interested in calling or emailing him let me know and I can get you the info via email. On top of not being ready to rebook, I liked having an email chain of what he did and to be able to avoid hours waiting on the phone and risking being hung up on or disconnected.

We are looking at cancelling and booking a 7 day cruise in March and pricing one that has a cruise rate of $476 less than the 10 day one we have currently booked.  We would definitely use up that $476 OBC on booze and add'l dining.  Not the greatest deal ever for 3 days less, but I booked the 10 day one about 2 days after it was announced so it was a pretty amazing deal.  I had such an awesome 'bowling alley' balcony on the 10 day I am sadz... but I'm looking at an aft-extended to make up for it.

I'm not as sure of carnival, but the problem cancelling for many is the upcoming cruises cost more. The FCC has to be used by the end of next year and as people cancel and rebook later on, prices are rising.

I wish the FCC was valid till the end of 2021 but this is a reply from my PVP today >>

Your future cruise credit is to be used by March 31st, 2021, you can book at any time as long as you sail by March 31st 2020.

I am just grateful that I don't have to rush out to book another right now on top of trying to re-plan a land vaca now that we aren't cruising on the 22nd.

Just one more thing to consider, which of course is dependent of when you booked and what you paid.

There are no more cruises after my april 26th cruise except maybe may  where I could rebook without paying more.

Those FCCs are date limited, the best prices are from now thru may.

Was she after final payment? We are set to sail Mar. 28. Still weighing risk, but how do I figure what amount is returned and what is fcc and what we are not getting back at all?

I used this for an example yesterday on another thread, hope it helps...After final payment/Sail Date was March 22nd. Cruise Rate 1,448.00 Refunded as FCC

Taxes, Fees, Port Expenses and Fuel Supplement* 291.28 Refunded to original form of payment

    Total Cruise Charges 1,739.28

OPTIONAL CHARGES Prepaid Gratuities 167.88 Total Optional Charges 167.88 Refunded to original form of payment

My FCC will be the cruise fare only $1448

Refunded to my Credit Card  $ 459.16

I think a lot of people are thinking they are getting ripped off because they aren't getting the taxes/fees as part of the FCC and they think when they are re-booking they are getting charged again.

So we just cancelled our 3/14 sailing of the Panorama.

what a nightmare..my wife is doing it; but it sounds like we got really screwed.

instead of sailing with a $200 OBC for this cruise (already paying $2436 all in for cruise + tax/fees + grats)

we moved it to 3/17/21; and now OWE $198 more!

Even though the booking details show this new booking being $400 LESS.

i really wish my wife wouldn’t have jumped the gun; technically we’re losing out on $200 OBC + paying extra $198...hell $400 would have bought her four extra days off work if we WERE to be quarantined, haha

Is the $2436 the cruise fare, the amount without anything extra/taxes/port charges etc? I know I have seen a lot of people post, both here and on FB saying they didn't get the correct amount and then realized they did. So the $200 isn't considered because it was only if you continued on to cruise. For me, I paid $1987, but my FCC will only be for $1448, the difference of $539 (taxes/fees/gratuities) will be refunded to my credit card. You would be paying for all the your taxes/fees's all over, it's not going to be a part of your FCC, but the previously paid fees will be refunded to you. Was this how you looked at it?

  9. The form that came attached to the letter/email from Carnival  would require you to enter existing booking and new booking info to have the FCC applied. Not sure if you can just cancel using the form and not enter the new cruise info, plus not sure when your cruise  was scheduled to depart, but you would want to make sure you're following the deadline to rebook.

  10. This might help clarify
    * Offer is for cruises departing from date of letter till 5/31/20
    *  Cruises departing from date of letter till March 31 have up to 3 days prior to rebook

    * Cruises departing from April 1-May 31 have to rebook by March 31
    * Credit is valid until 3/31/21 but you must rebook by the dates above
***small print does say some important stuff like it's only good for (1) booking and cannot be used for taxes/fees/port expenses, Carnival Vacation Protection, onboard charges or gratuities. Guest is responsible for the difference between FCC and new booking. If new booking is less than the amount of the FCC the difference will be applied as a Non Refundable On Board Credit with a maximum of $500 per cabin. Any additional unused is forfeited. All money paid for Carnivals insurance is non refundable and will not be included in your FCC.

The form to use this option and rebook is here, you do not need to call to rebook

  11. This is what I took from the email I rec'd today

    * April 1-May 31 departures have until March 31 to rebook

    *Credit is valid until 3/31/21

We are in about the same situation as you are. 14 Carnival cruises and our first Princess schedule in June. Which Princess ship did you sail on?

The Best Sale ever and the desire to try something new is what got us to book Princess. We are back on Carnival for Thanksgiving.

We were on the Regal, it was an ok ship, I think we are just comfortable with what we know. The only real issues we've encountered while on Carnival is guests who treat the staff poorly, I am sure it's not limited to Carnival but it seemed to be getting more and more common and that bothered us. My boss stated over and over that we would never experience that behavior on Princess and we didn't, the atmosphere just wasn't for us.  We are definitely open to trying another line and came close to booking on NCL but opted for the Magic in two weeks. Enjoy your cruise in June

  13. After 15 Carnival cruises we were looking to try another line and my boss raved about Princess. We cruised with them in November and we weren't impressed, nothing too crazy, it just wasn't what we envisioned after my boss repeatedly referred to Princess as an upscale and classy line. It was ok, but we wouldn't cruise with them again. We are heading out on the Miracle on the 22nd and are looking forward to going back.
