We took the up sell deal to upgrade from balcony to Ocean Suite for $700 on the New Years cruise last year. It was so not worth it.

For two of us, typically between $500 and $600, including excursions (or a spa treatment). Lately, we've been pre-booking our excursions, so our onboard account balance has been lower. We carry on a 12-pack of canned soda and two bottles of wine. We're not big drinkers.

They have Splenda and all the other colors too
Actually, I realized last cruise that all the colors were all the same thing, just in different colored packets. [emoji15]

154 until our New Years cruise on the Glory!

When I get my first view of the atrium and tear up in excitement.
And then the cruise REALLY starts when I order my first cocktail!

either, but I always book with a TA. Maybe that is why? Because I book through a TA, I would have to call them to see if any upsells/upgrades are available, right?
How close does the upsell/upgrade fairy call to your scheduled cruise? Curious.
I got the call less than a week before!

I actually got the upsell EMAIL. It said to call back. I called back and replied to the email. They called me and I got upsold to an Ocean Suite. It was nice, but it wasn't worth the money.

SPLURGE:
Cabin -- We always do a balcony. There's nothing like eating breakfast or having a glass of wine while watching the water.
Excursions -- Hubby is not much of a "laying-on-the-beach" kinda guy, so we try to do something exciting at least once per cruise.
Casino -- Despite living 20 minutes from Atlantic City, we still bring a couple hundred dollars a piece to donate to the casino.
Pictures -- I always end up buying a couple of the pictures on board.
SCRIMP:
Alcohol -- Hubby doesn't drink. I don't get drunk. We bring on our two bottles of wine (both for me), and I have maybe one or two additional drinks per day.
Soda -- We bring on a 12-pack, mostly for hubs.
Souvenirs -- I'm not one for buying key chains or magnets. We buy something for my stepfather (usually a t shirt, he takes care of our furry children when we're away), my mother, and my 98 year old grandmother. That's it. Nothing for us. Pictures are enough.
Final $$ amount on your S&S card?

I usually cruise on Carnival. I purchased the drink package the one time I sailed on Royal, so no wine was carried on. You don't have to pay a corkage fee if you pour the glass of wine in your room and then carry it to dinner, which is what I do.
