  1. Not OP but just got off Breakaway today

Guest services or box office will provide you with disembark letters which are coded on keycard however no one checked and from the lines forming to get into theatre never mind being seated Nd then led out row by row that took an hour

Then another hour to get through immigration

After 9.30 it was to be open disembark where didn’t have to pass through theatre and if had to do it again I would do that option and leave ship once the scrum was over

    Second day was easy

Thanks fab, we have an excursion booked so we need to get out asap, any suggestions on how to get in that first group?

  2. The reason you don't see the Best of Berlin tour in your MyNCL is because you already booked a tour. Once you book a tour, no other tours are shown to you for that particular port.

But you can see them here: https://www.ncl.com/shore-excursions/search?destination=Europe+Cruises&port=WAR&sort=searchFeatured&sortOrder=desc&perPage=48&referrer=www.ncl.com

Thank you bluesea, didn't realize this. I assume I can change excursion if I wish? I would need to call NCL I suppose. Thanks for the link!

  3. JenJohnCourt - If you do an NCL excursion to Berlin, they have an entire train rented; so, we did the train. Only 1 stop on the way in to Berlin to let some people off who were seeing the concentration camp, and no stops on the way back. They provided some snacks and drinks both ways. It was a good experience. Have fun on your cruise. The balcony is so nice to see the ports and things. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

    Hi Notes,

I am interested in the Best of Berlin tour that you did....I can't find it on the NCL website. We have booked the Berlin on your own tour but wish I had more info on the one you took. Tour bus met you at the train station? What kinds of snacks and drinks did you get on the train and were there others to purchase (beer for example) for the return trip? lol Thanks for all the insight you have given us!

  4. Welcome home! Would love to hear about your experience. Will you be posting a review somewhere?

Thank you RO, good to be home. Won't be doing a review because I lack the tech skills....one of the reasons I truly appreciate everyone elses...lol. Have a wonderful adventure, you must be leaving soon?

  5. We are going in April and want to go off and do some exploring in Shanghai on our own as well on the last day; did Sinorama place any restrictions on you or give you any grief for venturing out independently?

Hi RnJ, I think the only way you could do your own thing would be on evenings when there is nothing planned or opting out of an activity or the group dinner. We went to Black Sesame Kitchen on the night of arrival on our own, we didn't ask permission, just went. Everything is well organized with little free time. You could extend your stay or go a few days early to do things on your own, that would probably be the best way to do it. Hope this helps.

  6. We are back home and dealing with the jet lag but am finally feeling somewhat human today. We had a fabulous trip with Sinorama. Everything was well organized. We loved our guide, Adam. He has a fabulous sense of humor. Met wonderful people and would definitely choose Sinorama again. If I can answer any questions, would be more than willing to. We went to Black Sesame Kitchen and that was quite an experience!

  7. Enjoy your trip that you have paid for and go with the flow. There will be people who will be complaining no matter what, just ignore those and have a good time. If you plan on taking the subway in Shanghai, this maybe a good place to start: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/shanghai/transportation/subway.htm

Have a safe and wonderful trip! :)

Again, I thank you RO, we will go with the flow! Have a wonderful cruise in November!!

  8. Sorry morry2121, I don't want to give advice that I am not familiar with. I have only taken the subway once two years ago when our mission team went from Hangzhou to Shanghai for a day trip, with a couple of local young people as our guide.

Thanks RO, appreciate your honesty. We really have no clue what we're doing but are going to give it a try. Worse comes to worse, we'll get a cab I guess. Any last minute advice for me? We leave early Saturday morning. xx
