Check out "shore excursions" on tripadvisor...there are a bunch of different types and they will tell you if they cover they cover the visa.
I have our Visas, I am referring to getting off the ship after the NCL excursions leave.

Great review nycfa! Thank you for taking the time. One question...where did you go to get the non NCL tour disembarkation tickets for SPB? Guest services? Thanks!
-
Thanks Catchum….do the ATM's have an English option for instructions?
-
Thanks Kochleffel....I guess I'll buy some euros and take some dollars. Glad to hear that credit card is the way to go. Am really thinking of stuff I might want to buy from the street vendors or in tourist shops, do they take a credit card?
-
Going on the Breakaway Baltic Sea cruise in September....besides our credit cards, what currency do you suggest we buy before leaving home? Thanks!
-
The reason you don't see the Best of Berlin tour in your MyNCL is because you already booked a tour. Once you book a tour, no other tours are shown to you for that particular port.
But you can see them here: https://www.ncl.com/shore-excursions/search?destination=Europe+Cruises&port=WAR&sort=searchFeatured&sortOrder=desc&perPage=48&referrer=www.ncl.com
Thank you bluesea, didn't realize this. I assume I can change excursion if I wish? I would need to call NCL I suppose. Thanks for the link!

Thanks Pe4all and notes21....wondering where the tour took you and how hard it would be for us to do it on our own. Since this is a train hired by NCL, would the drinks be included on the train if you have the drink package?
-
JenJohnCourt - If you do an NCL excursion to Berlin, they have an entire train rented; so, we did the train. Only 1 stop on the way in to Berlin to let some people off who were seeing the concentration camp, and no stops on the way back. They provided some snacks and drinks both ways. It was a good experience. Have fun on your cruise. The balcony is so nice to see the ports and things. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Hi Notes,
I am interested in the Best of Berlin tour that you did....I can't find it on the NCL website. We have booked the Berlin on your own tour but wish I had more info on the one you took. Tour bus met you at the train station? What kinds of snacks and drinks did you get on the train and were there others to purchase (beer for example) for the return trip? lol Thanks for all the insight you have given us!

Haha...got one just like him...thanks for the help!
-
What currency? Do you remember? Really appreciate your help!
-
Thanks again 300....we will probably do this...do they take a credit card?
-
Oh 300, that is very good to know...we were thinking about how we would get to the airport, do we need to reserve a place on the bus?
-
Thanks again 300...yes, that was my intention, to go to port on the HOHO bus....do you recall what it cost by taxi?
-
Thanks 300....I think we will definitely do this, do you know if it goes to the cruise port?
-
Thanks again BostonGal, this is something to think about.
-
Thanks BostonGal...did you do the Friends of Dave tour? Can you give me a few details? We do have the train excursion booked but can always be cancelled.
-
Doing this cruise on the Breakaway...Sept 14. Anyone have suggestions for us? Also wondering about the weather this time of year.
Anyone done the hop on hop off bus in Copenhagen?
-
We drove to the port in Boston and took our own clubs. We would not have taken them if we had been flying...we played at Port Royal. We stored them under the bed.
-
Welcome home! Would love to hear about your experience. Will you be posting a review somewhere?
Thank you RO, good to be home. Won't be doing a review because I lack the tech skills....one of the reasons I truly appreciate everyone elses...lol. Have a wonderful adventure, you must be leaving soon?

We are going in April and want to go off and do some exploring in Shanghai on our own as well on the last day; did Sinorama place any restrictions on you or give you any grief for venturing out independently?
Hi RnJ, I think the only way you could do your own thing would be on evenings when there is nothing planned or opting out of an activity or the group dinner. We went to Black Sesame Kitchen on the night of arrival on our own, we didn't ask permission, just went. Everything is well organized with little free time. You could extend your stay or go a few days early to do things on your own, that would probably be the best way to do it. Hope this helps.

We are back home and dealing with the jet lag but am finally feeling somewhat human today. We had a fabulous trip with Sinorama. Everything was well organized. We loved our guide, Adam. He has a fabulous sense of humor. Met wonderful people and would definitely choose Sinorama again. If I can answer any questions, would be more than willing to. We went to Black Sesame Kitchen and that was quite an experience!

Enjoy your trip that you have paid for and go with the flow. There will be people who will be complaining no matter what, just ignore those and have a good time. If you plan on taking the subway in Shanghai, this maybe a good place to start: https://www.travelchinaguide.com/cityguides/shanghai/transportation/subway.htm
Have a safe and wonderful trip! :)
Again, I thank you RO, we will go with the flow! Have a wonderful cruise in November!!

Sorry morry2121, I don't want to give advice that I am not familiar with. I have only taken the subway once two years ago when our mission team went from Hangzhou to Shanghai for a day trip, with a couple of local young people as our guide.
Thanks RO, appreciate your honesty. We really have no clue what we're doing but are going to give it a try. Worse comes to worse, we'll get a cab I guess. Any last minute advice for me? We leave early Saturday morning. xx

We got a reservation for Black Sesame Kitchen on our first night and will need to take subway to get there, any hints for this adventure RO?
