My O/H loves MSC we have only been on The Opera as i wont fly ,but he had a fantastic cruise last year with them & every one got to know his name cos he went in for the MSC factor a talent competition ,the only reason we aren't on her this year is we have an old dog that needs us so we have to stop cruising for a while ,maybe thats why they are not sailing from the UK next year :rolleyes:

I saw a cruise advertised with MSC for 7 nights to the Fjords in May 17th this year advertised so i booked the hotel as it was only 4 months away but it had no price , got in touch with the TA i use & they haven't got that date so they contacted MSC to be told it had been chartered for 9 nights !!!! why advertise something like that ...it was supposed to be a special birthday which ran through the cruise ,we have become silver members & already got euros to put up front for the on board account ...we are gutted ..MSC get your act together ...back to the drawing board & cancelling a hotel now :(

Being on our first cruise in 2011 we went with our son & his family ,he did all the booking etc but we booked different packages i booked first but just had the wine vouchers for dinner in the mdr ,he booked the cheers package for them ,although we went down with them & he did all the booking we even had our cabins next to each other we were put on a different dinning table so we just had it altered when on board ,either it was a mistake on their part of not noticing or because they noticed the names were very different i don't know but it shouldn't have mattered as we were all together anyway ,but it was to our advantage

I use cash as i don't have a credit card ( because i don't want one ) & i remember reading on a forum once not to use a debit card on the ship so i won't use that either , we will put 300 euro up front 150 euro each this time as i also have £60 credit as well so we have plenty to more than cover anything i may buy on the last day ,i have a drinks package so the 360 euro is just there to pay the gratuites really & on the day of disembarkation they will give me some money back ( towards my next cruise ) so i don't mind queuing if there is one ...i won't go with some cruise lines because they don't use cash & if i was doing a lot more days i will put up a lot more cash up front especially if i didn't have a drinks package ...:)

If our son came with us although being 26 certain beers are no good for him & he doesn't like wines etc so he would have to buy pop vouchers which he does drink & us wine vouchers for dinner ,even if he could have the kids allegrissimo we wouldn't be prepared to buy that as well with no alcholic wine included etc far too expensive for no booze ,but if all where tea total now that is a diffrent matter & would be good value for them ...glad he's not coming on our latest cruise wer'e on allegrissimo :D

The £18 will be for next years cruise's

It's strange how the price differs with the allegrissimo i paid £20 pppn only last week but it's well worth it i loved having it last year

I again emailed MSC to try & find the price of the bottles of wine just in case i can't save up for the allegrissimo this time , thankfully Tim has done it for them i have now converted the $ to the £ so i now have the prices for the wine vouchers (if i'm broke ) the cheers package ( i have a bit more money ) & the allegrissimo ( i'm a happy bunny) :D

We have found cruising later on in life , the family are not interested in cruising so we will be going on our own & try & go as much as we can while we can ...we still get together with the rest of them for any little camping trips we do , next May sail , June camping ,Sept camping ,hopefully a short cruise then as well ..life is too short , ....my cousin died just as her husband had retired & his world fell apart :( ..so my motto is.. do it if you can

The list was great some good ideas there for me ..iv'e been buying stuff since January although not going till Sept:D i have the cases in the bedroom & just add stuff , i always do it even though we are campers with our own old camper van :confused:.. but it's our first cruise & i would rather take too many clothes etc & not use them as not taken something & wished i had ..wer'e not flying so it doesn't matter & going to use the bags that have the air sucked out for the stuff that doesn't crease ..but my little list for things i would never have thought of is growing all the time :)
