I am very sorry for the loss of your Mom. What an honor to celebrate her at Sea. Your review so far is great. We are hoping to sail the Harmony soon. Very heartbreaking to hear of your fellow passenger having a heart attack.

Hi :) O' Sheehans is open 24/7. Its not possible to take food to go though. There is drink service for coffee, teas, milk and various "juices" available at all times. This is located in the buffet and in the open air area of the ships. In the arcade there is a vending machine with drinks for purchase in it. Also I think M&M's and skittles. I have never been successful in getting a can of pop from the bar. They pour into the glasses (without straws now ;)) It might be worth sweet talking the bartender...lol. I seen numerous Yeti cups on the ships, people just pour their drinks in there. Have great cruise!

I debated the Joy last week when I booked our Alaska cruise for next summer. It was even cheaper, but theres just something about the Bliss that got me :D

This post is amazing! Just booked our Alaskan cruise for next summer and cannot wait to sit down and really read through your list. It's much appreciated! :)

Cruisegal, we had a VISA card that we used and I checked once we returned and everything was okay wit it. We used in all the stops on Western itinerary.

Bumping this to see if we can use credit cards on Harvest Caye, both at the restaurants and at the little food places on the beach? Trying to figure out how much cash to bring.
Cash and credit card is correct. But I also wanted to add I was unable to use my American Express and had to go back to the beach and get my husbands visa. Not 100% this is with all the vendors there.
-
Assuming this is still true, no using ship card on Harvest Caye. Do all the places there take credit cards including the little beverage or food places by the beach?
Cash and visa/mastercard only. No AMX..lol. Found out after I waited in line and placed my order for my rum filled coconut. Excuse me, while I run away and get my husbands card :')

I usually use Casinos as Sea because I am receiving a comp from a land based casino or receiving 20% discount from casino affiliation. But I recently booked a cruise for my sister (who does not gamble) and I booked through a "senior" travel agency where the single cabin rate was less than what I priced on NCL. She also received additional $200 OBC from the agency. But it was not seamless, I was on the phone over a three day period finalizing the details. There was no dedicated TA so that was one part of the problem and then NCL was not aware of their own DoubleUp CruiseNext promotion.
Hi Socalev,
Quick question for you about Casinos at Sea. A few weeks ago, my husband was given one of the VIP certificates, do you know if this has to be booked through the 800 number or can we use our TA to book and still get the discount? Not our first cruise, by no means, but his first CAS. Thanks!!

Looks like we are off to a great start ;) I cannot wait to read all about your trip. Bermuda is on my list. We originally were booked for next month to finally go there, but changed up our itinerary due to other family members wanting to cruise. Maybe next year. The pictures are great! Loved seeing the pictures of NYC also. Thanks for taking the time to write such a great review!!

Can't wait to hear more! This cruise is on my list :) My Aunt has that same bag she uses when she travels. I think I need to invest in one.

Hi Everybody!!
Its almost time for our upcoming cruise on the Getaway and we are so excited! The last time in 2015 when we sailed her there was a crepe station in the Garden Grill. Does anyone who recently sailed on her know if this is still there? I searched but couldn't come up with anything recent. Thanks all!!

Wow! Love me a great Alaska review! Excellent job so far. Congratulations on your recent marriage and yah for the 2nd Honeymoon. I cannot wait to hear more.

Congratulations! Thank you for taking us along, and inviting us to your wedding. How fun that would be! So excited for you. I can't wait to see how the rest of your week is. Alaska is on my list. I think a cruise would be perfect.
-
Thanks for taking us along! We sail in July. This will be our second time on the Getaway. Very excited! Looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing all about your week. Have a fabulous time!!

I am so sorry for your loss of Lilia. She was beautiful. Both of them.

So I emailed Steve with a request for a reservation. Is it unusual to ask for a mix of loungers and Muskoka/Adirondack chairs?
Not at all I don't think :) I emailed Steve and ask for two loungers and a table with four chairs, he emailed back promptly and said he would take care of it.

Loving your review so far! We sail in under 50 days and your pictures are getting me even more excited! Thanks for taking us along!!

Loving your review! We have previously sailed the Getaway and love her. We sail again in under 50 days. Can't wait to read more :)

My Husband and I want to try a river cruise. I guess we are waiting on our teenagers to no longer cruise with us :') Every year, I look at all the itineraries hoping I can intrigue the girls, but no luck yet.

If you did not know this, you did not read the bid offer and rules. It is expressly stated up front. Read and be informed before bidding! Not being harsh, just candid.
As I stated, the process was new to me. I had not read anything about it, and was just reading what others post on here. I did not even receive a bid/upgrade offer. I always book with what I'd be happy with. Trust me, if I were to bid, I would read everything and would be informed of all the rules before so. Have yourself a great day!!!!

For those of you that have been to Tropicana, did you shuttle or take a taxi/cab? I think I read the shuttle will try and take you somewhere else....not sure what location, and it's best to take a cab. From what I have read, its 2pp or 3pp. Thanks!!
-
I too wondered the same thing. I decided this morning to email Steve at Tropicana and heard back from him within a few hours. We plan to eat our lunch there and explore the area. I'm sure you will have a blast whatever you decide to do.

I'm flying to my port for the first time. I usually drive. Do you put them on after the flight or before? I don't want to confuse anyone and loose my luggage.
I put them on right before we head to the port. We always fly in the night before our cruises, so I'll pop them on right before we get our transportation to the port. Have fun on your cruise!
