  1. Hi :) O' Sheehans is open 24/7. Its not possible to take food to go though. There is drink service for coffee, teas, milk and various "juices" available at all times. This is located in the buffet and in the open air area of the ships. In the arcade there is a vending machine with drinks for purchase in it. Also I think M&M's and skittles. I have never been successful in getting a can of pop from the bar. They pour into the glasses (without straws now ;)) It might be worth sweet talking the bartender...lol. I seen numerous Yeti cups on the ships, people just pour their drinks in there. Have great cruise!

  2. Bumping this to see if we can use credit cards on Harvest Caye, both at the restaurants and at the little food places on the beach? Trying to figure out how much cash to bring.

Cash and credit card is correct. But I also wanted to add I was unable to use my American Express and had to go back to the beach and get my husbands visa. Not 100% this is with all the vendors there.

  3. Assuming this is still true, no using ship card on Harvest Caye. Do all the places there take credit cards including the little beverage or food places by the beach?

Cash and visa/mastercard only. No AMX..lol. Found out after I waited in line and placed my order for my rum filled coconut. Excuse me, while I run away and get my husbands card :')

  4. I usually use Casinos as Sea because I am receiving a comp from a land based casino or receiving 20% discount from casino affiliation. But I recently booked a cruise for my sister (who does not gamble) and I booked through a "senior" travel agency where the single cabin rate was less than what I priced on NCL. She also received additional $200 OBC from the agency. But it was not seamless, I was on the phone over a three day period finalizing the details. There was no dedicated TA so that was one part of the problem and then NCL was not aware of their own DoubleUp CruiseNext promotion.

    Hi Socalev,

Quick question for you about Casinos at Sea. A few weeks ago, my husband was given one of the VIP certificates, do you know if this has to be booked through the 800 number or can we use our TA to book and still get the discount? Not our first cruise, by no means, but his first CAS. Thanks!!

  5. Looks like we are off to a great start ;) I cannot wait to read all about your trip. Bermuda is on my list. We originally were booked for next month to finally go there, but changed up our itinerary due to other family members wanting to cruise. Maybe next year. The pictures are great! Loved seeing the pictures of NYC also. Thanks for taking the time to write such a great review!!

  6. Hi Everybody!!

Its almost time for our upcoming cruise on the Getaway and we are so excited! The last time in 2015 when we sailed her there was a crepe station in the Garden Grill. Does anyone who recently sailed on her know if this is still there? I searched but couldn't come up with anything recent. Thanks all!!

  7. So I emailed Steve with a request for a reservation. Is it unusual to ask for a mix of loungers and Muskoka/Adirondack chairs?

Not at all I don't think :) I emailed Steve and ask for two loungers and a table with four chairs, he emailed back promptly and said he would take care of it.

  8. If you did not know this, you did not read the bid offer and rules. It is expressly stated up front. Read and be informed before bidding! Not being harsh, just candid.

As I stated, the process was new to me. I had not read anything about it, and was just reading what others post on here. I did not even receive a bid/upgrade offer. I always book with what I'd be happy with. Trust me, if I were to bid, I would read everything and would be informed of all the rules before so. Have yourself a great day!!!!

  9. For those of you that have been to Tropicana, did you shuttle or take a taxi/cab? I think I read the shuttle will try and take you somewhere else....not sure what location, and it's best to take a cab. From what I have read, its 2pp or 3pp. Thanks!!

  10. I'm flying to my port for the first time. I usually drive. Do you put them on after the flight or before? I don't want to confuse anyone and loose my luggage.

I put them on right before we head to the port. We always fly in the night before our cruises, so I'll pop them on right before we get our transportation to the port. Have fun on your cruise!
