  1. No- I didn’t mean that you’ll be “arrested “  for something like. I just meant it could be an embarrassing moment and a time waster. They scan your bags at the port and they can delay you and search your bags if they see anything suspicious. In that case they may pull you aside so that you don’t hold up the rest of the line. To me, that’s time that I could have been on my way to enjoying my lunch on the ship. But to each his own.

  2. I agree Coldflame. DLC has ALWAYS been secretive about everything. It’s really nonsense though. They like to build up the “hipe” so to speak. But all it really does is add to the confusion and frustration of their guest. I guess we’ll all have to wait and see for now. Thanks for replying!

  3. The current rules for DCL is  that you can bring two bottles of sparkling or regular wine onto the ship with you for your own personal use to be used in your stateroom. Bottles cannot be packed in your luggage – they will be confiscated. But you can take them with you physically on board when you board the ship. If I were you I wouldn’t take the risk of trying to bring anything onto a ship that I shouldn’t. I think the cruise lines will be extremely strict and very cautious knowing that the CDC is watching everything. While alcohol has little or nothing to do with the CDC guidelines, why someone would want to “smuggle” alcohol onto a ship and break the rules is beyond me. It’s better to follow the rules, and pay a little more for the liquor on the ship, then to be stopped at the port, pulled aside,  taken away and have your bags searched all for a few small bottles of liquor. Not worth it and a bad start to your vacation!

  4. With DCL it all depends on what category you book, season you book, where you are located on the ship, forward, middle or aft, and if you are a DCL Castaway Club member. Castaway club members get priority booking. As the ship fills up, the prices go up! The sooner you can book, the less you will pay. Bookings opened to the general public on May 27, but C/C members got to start booking on May 17! There are three categories of the C/C - Silver, gold, and platinum. Platinum being the cruisers with the most cruises. On the Disney WISH for the first time ever, Disney split up their platinum category into three divisions. You could book on May 17 if you had taken 25+ cruises with Disney. You could book on May 18 if you had taken 20+ cruises with Disney and you could book on May 19 if you had taken 15+ cruises. All other platinum members (10+ cruises) got to book on May 20, followed by gold members and then silver members. As platinum members with 15 cruises or more, we booked our 4/nt cruise on May 19 for an early September cruise and we paid only $2333. For Disney and a brand new ship that is a great price! We booked an Oceanview Stateroom in the lower part of the ship. If we had booked a “deluxe” Oceanview state room, one that is bigger, or a veranda in a different part of the ship the price goes up, AND as the ship fills up, the prices also go up! We probably could have gotten our room for even $200 less if we have been in the first group for booking on 5/17. We purposely chose later dates (early September) knowing that the cruise would be cheaper. We had no intention of paying $5000, $6000 $7000 for a stateroom. You could probably get two 7 night cruises booked on Royal Caribbean for that much (just guessing). But I will say with Disney you get what you pay for. Excellent service, beautiful clean ships, great entertainment for the family and for just adults alike. Your best bet with Disney is to book early, and get into one of their clubs.  Silver club starts after your first cruise. And if you like DCL cruises, book as many as can per year to build up your status. Also, when on board a Disney cruise, use a placeholder to book a future cruise. That will give you 10% off of most cruises and $100 future onboard credit. Your friend probably paid top dollar because they were part of the general public booking on May 27. But I guarantee you they will have a great time and get what they paid for!

  5. Disney cruise line has canceled all cruises through through July 31, 2021. Has anyone heard, or know, how/when Disney will restart cruising? We have a cruise booked for mid August 2021 and have not heard about any cancellations yet. Also, does anyone know if DCL will require all guest over a certain age to be vaccinated including the crew? Or will they do test cruises? I emailed Disney on this and got no response. Not sure if they know yet, so has anyone else heard anything??
