No word yet. Caribbean summer 2021 and Canada/NE 2021 were just released yesterday, though.

The Canada/NE 2021 itineraries don’t come up when I do a “ find a cruise” search on the Princess website.  Are they available to be booked somewhere else?

  2. We like to use the mattress topper on the queen bed because it helps to eliminate the crack created when the 2 beds are pushed together. Should we ask the steward once we arrive or does Celebrity have a number to call or email to request ahead of time? This will be our first Celebrity cruise. I know on Princess we were able to request about a week before we boarded and everything was taken care of before we arrived.

  3. And THAT is the point....a TRUE service dog behaves better than most humans....so they are easy to tell apart from a yapping dog or aggressive dog who is only there because someone has lied when referring to them as a "service animal." Just because you spend $100 online and buy a certificate does not make an animal a service animal. The abuse of the law is rampant and an insult to those animals that are highly trained to help their owners.

I totally agree with you. Service dogs usually go almost un noticed, quietly doing there job and not bringing attention to themselves or their handlers.

We have a therapy dog who visits at a children's hospital in Cleveland. He is well behaved in public, but we would never think of abusing the system and making it more difficult for true service dogs to be accepted. If we are out at a park or camping and see an owner not cleaning up after their dog, we don't hesitate to hand them a bag to pick up the mess. On a ship, we wouldn't have a bag handy, but we would have to say something. People like that give all dog owners a bad name. True service dog handlers would never want to be a bad example.

  4. We will be on our first Celebrity Cruise in April 2015, on the Summit leaving from San Juan.

Is the Aqua Spa Cafe open for lunch on embarkation day? The menu on the Celebrity website lists salmon and chicken, but I thought I read somewhere on these boards that those items are no longer available.

I had originally thought we would try Bistro on 5, but they haven't had good reviews lately.

We don't really want to fight the crowds in the buffet for lunch on the first day.

Any help and ideas would be greatly appreciated!

  5. If you choose select dining, you can dine when you chose vs the traditional seating which is fixed seating times. On Celebrity, if you chose select dining you must prepay the gratuities. I don't know if Royal Caribbean is the same.

    Hope this helps.

  6. Has anyone taken the Mangrove Lagoons tour with Virgin Islands Eco tours? Is it easy to get a taxi right from the dock to the tour site? We will be on the Celebrity Summit docking in Charlotte Amalie. How much is the taxi?

And how was the tour? Thanks in advance for your help!

  7. We have booked our first Celebrity Cruise for April 2015 out of San Juan. I thought about Aqua, but was concerned about noise from the floor above or below depending on which deck. Are there any Aqua class cabins that have decks with cabins both above and below them?

We sailed on Princess out of San Juan in 2008, and we loved old San Juan. We arrived 2 days early and explored the city on foot. In addition, cruising the Caribbean out of San Juan means less sea days, which we appreciate.

  8. Has anyone done the tour with Llewellyn Westerman of Llewellyn's Charters?

He doesn't appear to have a website so info is limited. I tried doing a search on this forum and nothing came up. His max for the tour is 6 people. That would be better than being crowded with a bunch of people, but I wonder how much it costs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  9. If we would get to St.John on our own, then want to do a tour of the island and finish with some beach time, do we hire a taxi for the tour portion? Is there a tour company that would get us from St. Thomas to St. John and do the tour and beach time? This is only our second time to St. John. Our first time we did an excursion through the ship and were very disappointed. Our ship will be in St. Thomas from 8 am until 5 pm. I am nervous about doing it on our own,but would like to find an alternative to a ship's excursion.

  10. We had a tour with Sonny Bins in mid-April. Sonny did a good job within the time frame he had to work. Our ship was only in port from 7:30 am until 12:30 pm. We were to meet him at 8:30. Our original time was to be 8 am, then he changed it to 8:30, we later found out to accomadate a couple who were arriving later on a different ship. I was disappointed he cut our time even shorter, but I do understand he didn't want to lose the fair of the other couple, especially going into the slower tourist season.

We left the cruise terminal at 8:36, without the other couple. After we were on the road for a while, someone called Sonny to let him know that the other couple had finally showed up. So we waited on the side of the road for someone to bring this couple to the bus. Coincindentally, my husband had seen this couple walking around the terminal, and they had taken a tour with Sonny on a previous cruise, so they should have known who they were meeting and where. Anyway, they cost us more valuable time. And at each stop, they were the last ones to the bus, making us wait for them at each stop.

We did feel like we had a whirl wind tour because of the short time frame, but we did hit the highlights of the island.

As we were heading back to the ship, the same couple who had been holding us up all day wanted dropped off at the beach. So we had to stop for them, again, and Sonny got out of the bus to give them directions and I imagine to collect his fee.

We cut it very close getting back to the ship and my husband was extremely stressed. I wouldn't want to do that tour in such a short time frame again. So, was it Sonny's fault or the couple from the other ship's fault. Probably a little of both.

I would use Sonny again under different circumstances.

  11. A group of 8 of us had a tour with Dora in mid April, and I think everyone thought she did a fantastic job. Prior to our cruise she responded to emails in a timely manner, she allowed us to customize our tour, she was waiting for us at the end of the gangway with a sign for our group and she returned us to the ship in plenty of time for sailaway.

I would not hesitate to use her again if we return to Cartagena.
