I have cruised Carnival 13 times, I believe.. Will be my 14th this weekend.. I have never recvd a free upgrade or even a call from the upsell fairy..

I buy the funship dollars now instead of those bar coupons.

 

With the funship dollars I can spend it on anything and not worry about the cost and how much to add to a coupon--

 

 

I buy one 25.00 certificate each pay. Since you are not sailing until June-- you can rack up a good savings heading into the cruise

Do they mail them to you or is it more of a credit on your account when you check in? Just wondering as we are taking our family in September and this would be a great way to save towards spending money onboard..

We had them for our last cruise in October and loved them! We didn't use all of them and will be be taking the rest on our cruise in April. You do have to pay for the difference on the ship if you buy the fruity drinks, but it was worth it to us. If you use them to purchase beer, then it's an even swap (no extra charge). I bought our coupons months ahead of time. Although we ended up paying the same price for the fruity drinks, it did make our bar tab smaller which was GREAT! My thoughts were that if I paid in advance, we would have more money on the trip to spend on other things. :D I would encourage your family to purchase them anyway. Instead of you having to pay $6-8 for a drink, you would only have to pay $1-3. If you get beer, it's free. ;)

DH has used the bar coupons to purchase a Fosters and he has been charged the difference in the beer vs credit on the coupon.. I would say it depends on the beer.. as Fosters is the huge beers and cost more money.. Just thought Id mention this, so others are aware if that is what they drink..

I just found out about the new 2009 itinerary for the Conquest going to the Bahama's. We have only cruised RCL and with the new itinerary and being able to sail from Galveston we are going to give Carnival a try. Can anyone tell what is the best deck to be on? We would like a balcony cabin suggestions?

We are already booked for next year on the new itenerary.. Cant wait..

We have stayed on 7th floor (cant think of the name of that deck) in a balcony cabin and loved it..

I live in Texas and also was unable to give blood late last year as we cruised and went to Roatan earlier last year...

Ive only been on RCCL once but didnt get the charm.. But when I first started sailing with Carnival you could get a sticker and then go to a place in Cozumel and they would give you a little silver charm that said the name of the ship you were sailing on.. I collected those till they stopped doing that.. I was bummed cause I wanted to collect as many as possible.. I think I got 4 before it stopped.. I didnt realize you could something like this when on RCCL.. We will be on RCCL later this year, so I will check it out..

In April I surprised my boyfriend with a cruise.. I had come up with the idea that we were gonna get away just me and him so I told him to take the days off work and that it was a surprise where we were going.. I told him I would do everything.. I made all the arrangments, I did all the packing and just before we were headed out I told him where we were going.. If I knew how to drive to New Orleans I would have drived us there and the entire thing would have been a surprise, but he always drives us to the ports so I had to tell him.. But until then he had no clue!! It was the best getaway yet....

Im getting back into the planning process now.. We are finally down to 89 days!! woo hoo.... I stopped planning because I found myself obsessing and I still had so much time to go so I just put it aside, but now Im back full force and sooooooooo excited as I realize its getting closer.. I keep thinking of little timelines to get me by.. I keep thinking right now I have 89 days but once I get thru Christmas and New years on the 6th it will be down to 60 days and then once Valentines gets here it will down to about 3 weeks..

I am really looking forward to this cruise because we booked our first balcony!! We usually get inside cabins and our kids and my boyfriends mom is coming along.. We wont get to do any cruises for awhile as 2006 and 2007 we are doing Disneyworld.. so no cruises in that 2 year period :0(
