  1. Thank you for the info! Looks so beautiful! Would you suggest going there if you are only at port from 7-2? We may just walk to junkanoo with a that little time.

We're in the same boat as you, we're sailing on the allure on February 28th and we're in port from 7-2 as well. The first ferry over to Blue lagoon is at 830. You're looking at a tight window there. If you're going to do it I recommend doing it through the ship. It will probably only give you about 2 hours on the island though. That's the only downfall, but it's such a beautiful island.

  2. This sounds perfect for our family. Do they have double kayaks so we can take kids along? Are there other water crafts for rent?

Yes they have double kayaks. They do have other stuff for rent as well, just refer to the pictures about.

  3. Beautiful pics of blue lagoon! How do you recommend getting there?? Snorkeling any good there?

I don't believe there's any good snorkeling there, i didn't see anyone doing it when I was there, I could be wrong though. I don't believe it has any reef on the island. It's more or less just a beautiful beach.

  4. Joffner1208 , thanks for posting the pictures. Wow...so beautiful! And shows Nassau doesn't have to be a stop where you stay on the ship (ie.. as a lot comment).

We're doing Blue Lagoon and can't wait. It looks beautiful!

It's beautiful, I don't understand why it gets such a bad wrap.

  5. Junkanoo beach is not very nice, I've been to the Bahamas a couple of times and I wouldn't spend my day there if that's the first time I ever was there. I would recommend spending the $180 to go to Atlantis. It's beautiful there and it's totally worth the money to me. If you don't want to spend the money then I highly recommend going to Blue lagoon island if you want to spend your day beach day. Cabbage beach next to Atlantis can be very rough, it's a hit or miss. If it's a rough day you will not be allowed in the water. At blue lagoon island the water is very calm. I will attach a few pictures that I took.

  6. Hello All,

Was really excited to do St John's, as we have been to St Thomas quite a few times. I was thinking that we arrived in port at 8:00am, but it's at 10:00. I'm thinking that this will probably not make much sense, since the recommendation is to depart 3 hours before departure (7:00pm). Becoming kinda' sorry that we chose this itinerary (Oasis Eastern Caribbean). Nassau is 7-2! Thanks for any thoughts.....

I'm in port on the Allure at the same exact time and yes we're doing St. John.

  7. Royal Caribbean times in port at Nassau are horrible. my last two cruises we were there from 2pm-11pm and 7am-2pm. It just doesnt give you much options and I would of gladly spent my money at Atlantis but not during those horrible times since Atlantis aqua venture operates from 10am-5pm.

  8. The security is pretty strict there, they won't allow you on the property without a band or room key. We stayed there for a week last year and 95% of the time there was some type of security on the grounds making sure people weren't sneaking in. You won't even be able to get into the royal towers without a key.

  9. First time cruisers going on RCCL Jewel in April. We will be arriving in Nassau at 7 and leaving at 5. Want to book Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim on own to save money. How far is it from port to the ferry? Can we catch the 8:30 ferry to Blue Lagoon? I just want to be able to enjoy the beach there and the dolphins without being rushed back. Is this feasible?

    Thanks

I did this excursion on my own when we stayed at the Atlantis resort. The ferry is about a 5 minute taxi ride from the cruise port. It will take you over the bridge that leads to Atlantis. Right in between the two bridges is where the ferry leaves from, it's about an half hour ride each way to the island from paradise island. It's a really enjoyable ride over as you get to see a lot of resorts and private homes. I wouldn't hesitate doing this on my own, it's very simple.

  10. It's absolutely worth checking out. I don't know how anyone could knock this place. I travel a lot and have been to many places. I would put Atlantis at the top as a resort. The grounds are beautiful, the water park itself is amazing. We stayed there for a week last March and I want to go back again.

  11. ^^^ I agree with her, blue lagoon island is awesome. It has a lot of blow up activities for the kids. You can also rent kayaks, my 4 year old son loved it. It's very calm and easy to paddle in the short water of the lagoon. The scenery and beach is gorgeous!!

  12. Over-planning as usual and came across this post regarding the Hard-Rock in Nassau having it's Franchise License pulled but still in operation.

Is this still the case? Or has the company re-instated this location?

Cruising to Nassau in just under 2 weeks and had this as a quick stop along with the Pirate Brewing Company. Not going to bother going in if they don't have the merch... I might have to bite the bullet and hike up to the corner to the other chain that gives you the balloon hats...

I'm not sure, but I would rather go to Senor frogs. It's a way funner environment in Nassau.

  13. Hi! Will be in Nassau February 25th - Trying to decide if we want to do Atlantis for the day, even though it's pricey - but it would really be bad to spend all that non-refundable money on daypass.com only to show up and have an awful day and not be able to enjoy the water park ....

Anyone sailed to Nassau during February? I know it can change from day to day and year to year, but just curious what people's experience has been if you have been there late february....

    Thanks!

    Hey Jeff

We stayed at the Atlantis last year from February 28th-March 6th and the water was beautiful, 80-85 everyday and sunny.

  14. I wouldn't waste the time or money paying to go to any other resort besides Atlantis, if you're going to shell out money to go to a resort it might as well be Atlantis. Anyways I would go to Blue lagoon island, it's beautiful there.

  15. Robyn, keep in mine we are both South Carolinians (Columbia & Lexington) and you'll be there the very first week of February.

What is warm to someone from Pittsburgh, isn't to us. :D

84 for the first week of March seems pretty warm to me.
