We decided to do the partial transit this time. It fit better with our schedule. Next time we will do the full transit. Thank you for all the information and GREAT pictures.

Trying to decide between the Listel and the Atrium Inn. Any suggestions? There will be 4 of us, two will be seniors.

How are the aft balconies? We are looking at the 23rd sailing as well and want to know if they are truly worth it? How big are the balconies at the aft? Are they a standard balcony?

I have been looking at several cruise options. Is it worth the time and money to do a full transit or will the partial transit show the majority of the canal?

Does the star have the warming lounge chairs? It doesn't show them in the video

Another vote to take the 7.5 hr trip with Chilkoot directly. We did it back in 2007 with kids 18,14 & 13 Boy/Girl Girl
They love it. We will be going it again with my 70 yr old sister and her hubby in Skagway on the 17th of June.
Regarding the float plane, we also did it ten years ago and have it booked again as well in Ketch. No way you see that scenery from the ship. We too landed on the Fjord and got out for a short while.
Absolutely breath taking.
Enjoy
We loved the Chilkoot 7.5 hour trip in 2012. My boys were 6 & 12 and had a blast. I highly recommend them. They are the company I always recommend. The Yukon is worth it.

We rented a car in Anchorage and there was no need for it. The railroad takes you where you need to go. We used the toursaver book for half priced train tickets. The train can also take you to the port.
I DEFINATELY agree to book the camper bus in Denali. I took my boys 5 and 10 on the trip to Eielson Visitors Center and back. It ended up being a 10 hour day because we spend additional time at the visitors center. They had a BLAST! It doesn't cost anywhere near the "tours" they suggest. The driver was very informative and even stopped so everyone could "walk" in the tundra. There were so many animals to see because you go farther into the park. Just make sure to pack food!
My moms favorite part of the trip was the Kenai Fjords NP boat trip. We used Major Marine and they were great. There was a NP Ranger on board who did many hands on activities with the kids. We did the 7.5 hour trip. My mom was not looking forward to getting off the boat and onto another boat for that long. She now tells everyone to do it.
I don't think you can go wrong as long as you have fun!

We will be arriving late (10pm) on Friday and I have heard about the Sky train to take downtown. Is it safe at that hour to take an adult with a cane and 2 kids with all their luggage to downtown or should I just plan on a cab.
Thanks

I have gone to Mexico in the beginning of October and it has been so hot you didn't want to walk outside. It always changes
