  1. If both sides would concede something, everyone could enjoy themselves.

If a smoker wants to see a particular entertainer, but the lounge is non-smoking: You have a choice. Which is more important - that entertainer or being able to smoke? Once you make your choice, live with it, and NO COMPLAINTS.

I don't use the casino, so it doesn't matter to me whether it is smoking or non-smoking. But perhaps RCI could open the casino as non-smoking and after a length of time change it to smoking. That way both sides would have use each day it is open.

I think the biggest problem is the balconies. RCI tells us the ship is our "home away from home" while we are there. I don't know of any non-smokers who would invite smokers to their patio so they can smell the smoke that they don't usually have on their premises.

On the other hand, I don't know of any smokers who wake in the night and get dressed to go someplace else to smoke (which is necessary if no balcony smoking). Non-smokers should not be subject to the smell of smoke on their balconies, and smokers should have the right to smoke on theirs. I've believed for a long time that balcony smoking on opposite sides of the ship would be a thoughtful, adult compromise that could work very nicely.

Everyone should realize that the entire ship may not available to them depending on their preferences. The ships are big enough, so that if everyone would try to act like an adult, be considerate, stop complaining, and try to get along with each other, the whole cruising experience would be better for all concerned.

    Just my two cents worth.
