  1. On Aruba there is a "local beach" located between Palm and Eagle beaches.  It is behind a police station.  No chair rentals, but there are picnic benches under palapas.  When we were there there were a few family birthday parities and kids were taking swimming lessons.  To get a taxi back, just walk to eagle beach and walk through a hotel to get to a cab stand.

  2. TAD2005- I pay $.88 for distilled water at home, but on Celebrity, Royal and NCL it's always been in my cabin when I get on for no charge when requested in advance for my CPAP.  I also pay $5.00 at home to discard my sharps container, but they have always been provided for no charge on those cruise lines.

  3. Anyone know how to get in touch with the special needs department?  Can't find an email address, and 1/2 hour on hold is a little too long a wait for me.  I am sailing on the Oosterdam in October and I need distilled water and an extension cord for a CPAP machine and a sharps container.

    TIA

  4. The men's and Ladies' rooms on the Eclipse, outside the dining room are always staffed with someone constantly cleaning it after dinner. My husband and I have both tipped the attendant for doing a great job in what has to be a lousy location. I can tell you the attendant is always surprised and very appreciative.

  5. We will be cruising on the Eclipse in March and this will be the first time traveling with a CPAP machine- 2 questions- what do you do about using distilled water for the machine and is the cord long enough to reach the plug?

  6. Blue Bai was a wonderful beach. Not crowded. It is in a development of homes, condos, time shares and maybe a hotel. It was $30 cab ride and chairs were $8. There was shade. I advise using water shoes.

  7. Our cruise overnighted in Barbados so we went to Boatyard one day and Harbor Lights the second. We had been to Boatyard before and really liked it, but this time it was much more crowded and the music was not relaxing. It was $30 for 2 chairs and umbrella, 1 drink and ride back to the port. Next day went to harbor lights and that is our new favorite. It was $5 pp for the cab and $15 for 2 chairs and umbrella. It was quieter and a simple "no thanks" kept vendors from bothering us.

  8. We've been to Eagle Beach, but this time we were told it was school vacation and families just camp on the beach for the week, so Palm was suggested. We stayed by the Hyatt- cab was $14 each way and chairs and umbrella were $35. It was very crowded with a lot of water toys and the water was very cloudy. Would go back to Eagle next time.

  9. Hard to believe I was on the same cruise as the OP. We had a wonderful cruise, our cabin attendants were the best we've had. Some nights the service in the dining room might have been better than others, but who cares. We were on vacation, not rushing to go anywhere. Second night in line waiting for dinner with MTD, the lady in front of me complained to the person getting tables about how bad it was the night before, she didn't like the waiter, didn't like the people she sat with, didn't like the table. When it was our turn I said my only request is to not sit with that person. My philosophy is that if I don't have to cook it, clean it or serve it, it's fine. Everyone seems to complain that the industry is nickle and diming us and we're not getting what we used to for the money, but everyone is looking for rock bottom prices. You can't expect to pay for beer and get champagne. It seems every one wants more now, but they want to pay less. We have sailed celebrity (a lot), princess, RCI and NCL. Celebrity is our favorite and that's why we continue with them, but if I hated everything about my cruise, I would just try something else. There are plenty of cruise lines out there.
