  1. Hello all,

Myself and three other adults will be arriving in Dublin May 16th for a British Isles cruise.  Our plane arrives around 9:00 am and we plan to go straight to the cruise port.  I have been notified by Princess that our boarding time is at 1:00 pm, ugh!  That's so late!  Does anyone have experience with this?  If we board at 1:00 pm will our cabins be ready?  We want to do some sightseeing obviously, and I know we could drop off our luggage but don't want to lug around our heavy purses and totes.  Any help with this subject is greatly appreciated!

The best hop on hop off tour (with the driver actually speaking, not a recording) is run by Dublin Bus, the city's public transport provider.

    This is their page: https://dodublin.ie/city-sightseeing-tours/hop-on-hop-off-24-hour

If you like you can get your tickets online, but you need a printed voucher, not an image on your phone.

Your cruise will probably have a shuttle to the city centre and you can meet the hop on hop off in O'Connell Street, or you can get a taxi.

    Cool Cruiser,

Do you know how long the green bus is if you ride the whole route without getting off?  Sometimes we like to ride it through one time and then go back around and get off at the stops we want.

    Thanks for any advice.

  3. Hello all,

I will be sailing on the Crown Princess out of Dublin Ireland for a British Isles cruise this May.  If I choose the Princess transer back to the airport at the end of the cruise, do we have to sit around before they transfer us?  Or are we one of the first off since we bought through Princess?  Our flight home is at 11:30am, I don't want to have to sit around at the Port and be rushing once we get to the airport.  Plus, do they take our luggage the night before?  Print our boarding passes?  Thanks for any help,  Jodi

  4. Hello all fellow cruisers,

We are a party of four adults flying from Boston Mass to Dublin Ireland for our 12 night British Isles cruise on Crown Princess.  First question, since the ship departs Dublin at 9:30pm and we are arriving in Dublin at 8:00am, can we drop our bags off at the port, check-in, then go sightseeing around Dublin?

question #2...whats the best form of transportation to and from the cruise port to the airport?  Does the cruise port have a name?  Or is it just the Port of Dublin?

question#3...since this cruise has three ports that are the start-finish locations, ours being Dublin, does that make disembarkation easier at the end?  Since not everyone is disembarking?

    thanks, Jodi

  5. Hello, We will be in Cozumel the beginning of May, arriving on the Allure of the Seas. We booked the Tulum tour several months ago, then the ban happened and everyone is my family thinks we should cancel it.

I have googled it and the ban was lifted the middle of March. So is it safe now? Has anyone used the ferries to get to Tulum since?

    Thanks for any input. Jodi

  6. Hello,

We will be in Cozumel this coming may sailing on Royal. I booked the Chichen Itza 6 hour mayan excursion through the ship. Now I am having 2nd thoughts because of reading how long it takes to get there. Seems like the travel time is hugely greater than the actual time at the ruins. My goal is to see mayan ruins, but is there anything closer worth going to see? Thanks for any help.

    Jodi

  7. Hello,

We will be sailing on Royal in May. I booked Chichen Itza 6 hour tour for Cozumel, but now I am having 2nd thoughts after reading the travel time is considerably greater than the actual time at the ruins. Now I am trying to figure out if I want to change to a tour from Costa Maya? Is there anything close worth going to see?

    Thanks,

    Jodi

  8. This is our first time sailing on Royal. In the past on other cruise lines, prior to sailing the concierge contacted us with any request. Does Royal do the same? We are sailing May 20th with no contact yet.

We don't have many request, but we do have a couple. Thanks :)

  9. A coworker told me about this site, said it's great, informational and I should ask the question to you all.... after some of these responses I'm not so sure... if you don't have any information for me keep your wisecracks to yourself please.. I'm sure if my story happened to any of you, you'd be furious, just as much as us!

Patsy451...I feel for you. I would not be happy either if this happened to me or anyone else in my family. I hope you get compensated for your distress.

PS..there are trolls on this site. They think their lives are perfect and they are snarky smart A** people, ignore them. 95% of the people on this site actually give good advice. The other 5% I could do without. Good luck, I hope it works out for you.

  10. Looking for advice.

I know beaches are free on St Thomas, but we would like to get a day pass at a local Resort. The choices are slim, it's either Frenchmans Reef Marriot or Sugar Bay resort.

Sugar Bay has an all inclusive price, where Frenchmans has just a fee for using their resort. The price difference is about $45.

I have read some pretty bad reviews for Sugar Bay, but we won't be using their rooms, just the pool and beach. I like the idea of not having to buy food or drink though.

Is Frenchmans Reef that much nicer? I mean, we would be willing to buy our meals if the beach and pool area was considerably nicer.

    Nickel for your thoughts....thanks

  11. We are planning on using Uber or Lyft several times when we cruise in May. From Fort Laud air port to Embassy suites, then from Embassy suites to Port Everglades. My question is when we get ahold of them on disembarkation day, is it easy to find them once we get off the ship? And...sometimes it takes awhile to get off the ship, do we wait until we our off to contact them? Our flight is at 11:45a, so we are hoping to be one of the first off the ship (Harmony of the Seas)

    Thanks, Jodi

  12. I have, multiple times.

Have you used it with a promotion? I just booked my cruise on the Harmony of the Seas, I have over 1 million gold coins and would love to buy OBC, but I am 93 days out, so does that mean I can't buy the reward? Plus, when I booked, there was a promotion going on, I think it was 60% off second passenger. So does that mean I can use this reward? The whole thing is so confusing. I am not new to MyVegas, I have used it in Vegas many times. If it can't be used with any other promotions, whats the point :(
