  1. Ahh, I guess I didn't have the plug at the right angle and couldn't insert it. Oh well. Thank you everyone for your help. We had a great time on our cruise.... Went to sleep earlier and read more books.

Will try again on the next cruise 😂

Safe travels and happy cruising everyone!

Sorry to hear the internet is so slow. Presently, you're not that for north, yet, so I don't have hopes of it improving as you get closer to Alaska. Finger crossed it does. When we were on Majestic last August (Seattle/Alaska round trip) the internet was pretty good if I recall.

Interesting about the HDMI port. Could you see what they did or grab a photo? Majestic is the newest Princess ship we've sailed, but we'll be on Enchanted later this month. Hopefully, nothing to block the port there. Don't understand why they would do that. You would think they would want to make it easier for people to play videos from thumb drives rather than streaming them.

Thanks for the feedback. Enjoy your cruise! From your signature, looks like this is your first Princess cruise. Hope it's a great experience. We like Princess.

Actually this is my third Alaska cruise with Princess. Didn't get around to updating my signature.  When I was on the Royal Princess in 2019, we had no issues with the internet or the medallion app. But this year, a different experience.

I tried attaching a picture of the back of the TV but the internet is just too slow.  Will upload it when I'm home.

  3. We re-fared for our July Alaska cruise. Originally 3 of us in an obstructed balcony. Now two insides, one for DH and me and the other for DD (solo). My husband and I got the new Premier package. After the dust settled, I got a refund of $400.

You must complete the ArriveCan questionnaire before boarding the ship in Seattle. It's a requirement for boarding, even if you do not plan to leave the ship in Victoria. They check this during boarding, along with your passport, vaccination record, and Covid test results.

It's a pretty simple process (just make sure you have your passport and your vaccination card handy to upload to the app). But I recommend taking a screenshot of your ArriveCan "receipt" once you get it, as there is no Wifi or cell signal inside the terminal building, which will make it impossible to access the ArriveCan app when you're actually checking in for the cruise.

Thank you for the clarification! I’ll complete an ArriveCan form for Victoria before boarding and do another for driving back to Vancouver for the next day.

Thank you for taking the time to share your trip and for uploading the Patter.

Whether or not you decide to go ashore in Victoria, you will still need to make an ArriveCAN submission. As for your later drive back to Vancouver, you can make the second submission at any point during the 72 hour window before re-entering. If you choose to do so while in Victoria, that's fine.

Thank you so much for your assistance!

  6. Please let me know if I understand correctly; for my Alaska cruise on the Discovery Princess, we'll be driving down to Seattle from Vancouver. There's a stop in Victoria (not getting off), still need to complete Arrive Can?

And when we disembark in Seattle to drive back Vancouver, we need to complete ArriveCan within 72 hours? I guess we can do it when we're in Victoria.

Thank you in advance for your help
