  1. Just got off the phone with JetBlue...we are scheduled to sail on 10/14 and fly in 10/13....was hoping to change flights to Sat 10/14 but they are booked solid AND all flights from Boston to SJU are cancelled thru 10/10. At this point I am kind of hoping it gets extended to 10/13 so our flight is cancelled, our insurance for the cruise will kick in and we can choose another destination and move on. This waiting is making me crazy :(

  2. Just got the word from my TA and the cruise documents on RCCL confirm that we have officially been changed from St. Thomas to St.Croix on the Adventure week of 14-21. So happy that we got another port instead of a third sea day! The days that we arrive in the various ports have switched days of the week so if you have private excursions make sure you update the new dates! Luckily for us we haven't gotten that far since this was a spur of the moment booking only a week ago....guess we need to get on that since 4 weeks from today we will be getting on the ship....very excited!!!

  3. My husband and I are sailing on Oct 14 out of San Juan on the Adventure of the Seas and I contacted my travel agent to see if she had any "inside" info since have heard nothing yet about itinerary changes that I expect will be coming. The latest update she got from RCCL "given the impact on St. Maarten, St Thomas and Key West we will be working on alternative ports for future sailings until these islands have fully recovered". Since those islands are still doing safety inspections she didn't anticipate knowing anything until late this week or early next at the soonest. Unfortunately I think anyone who has seen any pictures of the impact of Irma pretty much assumed that would be the case with those three listed :loudcry:.

  4. My husband and I are going on the Adventure of the Seas in Oct and he loves the specialty restaurants. We generally only go once or twice but looking at the 3 night dining package for $75 pp plus a discount on wine purchased while at the restaurants looks like a good deal. Has anyone done it? Worth it or is there some "small print" that I am missing that makes it less of a deal? Thanks for any info!

  5. We were on that same cruise. I want to start by saying this was out 8th cruise and our second on the Liberty. We went on her several years ago and really enjoyed it so when we decided to do a family cruise (my husband and 2 sons aged 16 and 27) with my parents and sibling and her fiancé we suggested this ship. I definitely feel that there were some aspects that had gone down hill since the last time we were on her. I agree that the CD was not good (thought his name was Craig not Greg but could be wrong....goes to show how uninteresting he was if we can't even be sure of his name LOL!). Never once saw him out and about on the ship and his "live show" on the TV in the morning was painful to watch....seemed very awkward and forced. I must say though that they did make an announcement about the comedian not being able to get on board and therefore there was going to be no show that night. However, they made it early in the afternoon and we only heard it because we happened to be in the hall. If you were on deck or possibly even in your cabin you never would have heard it. The ship was rocky, more so then most cruises I have been on, although not enough to bother me personally. What bothered me in our cabin (7348) was a constant vibration that was very annoying. Made it difficult to sleep and everyone who walked in our room noticed it immediately....even our TV was in a constant state of motion! The ventilation system in the casino needs work....could smell smoke up and down the staircases for several floors. The entertainment has definitely been cut back on. On previous cruises there has been some sort of "show" every night but no more. There was only a couple of nights with real entertainment other nights were games (IMO games are for either during the day or late night in a smaller room...not the main show lounge) so that was disappointing. Buffet food was lacking in variety but the MDR service and food was wonderful (probably tied for the best we have had on 8 cruises), we LOVED the alchemy bar (amazing mojitos!), Guys burgers, and fish and chips station were wonderful (which was a god send since the buffet food was not terribly interesting), food at the Steakhouse was wonderful (although service was decent didn't feel as high end as other cruise specialty restaurants). So although we all made the best of it I would probably not cruise the Liberty again. I can understand why people love it, we did too up until a couple of weeks ago, but enough things have gone downhill that we would prefer to try another ship if not another cruise line.
