Hi everyone
Are there any cruise lines / river cruises etc that embark and disembark in Quebec? I haven't been able to find any and If I drive to Quebec I don't want to fly back there only to drive home again. I will also consider a BTB if the price is right
Thanks

Great read, thank you so much for all the great information. Were really debating taking our DD (10 at time) on the getaway. The food looked amazing. Wish I could see more of the kids stuff.... ropes course etc.

Are there any outside NCL websites where I can find pictures and info etc.
I really want to book the Getaway but we would have to most likely fly into Fort Lauderdale due to the cost. I'm very nervous about the whole experience we've only cruised Disney and they took care of everything for us.
Also if I book the $250 deposit and hold onto it til the Nov 10th final payment due can I cancel at anytime and get my $250 back.
We have a 9 year old daughter we are not interested in the kids club unless we can go as a family, do they have open houses?
We are also not interested in getting off the ships at Ports, will there be enough to keep us entertained, is there a movie theatre?

Thanks for info, shortly after I realized what POM stood for, duh!

....our local airport (as in local 6hrs away) only has flights to Fort Lauderdale or Tampa for the cruises were interested in, we would really like to try the Getaway or the new Escape out of Miami, could we fly into Fort Lauderdale the day before and head to Miami are there any shuttles? Would we need to take a taxi $$ would it be worth it. We would also require a hotel overnight in Miami one with a cruise shuttle preferably. Both cruises and flights are only a few $$ apart. We have a child so I don't want to do anything crazy just to take a cruise ;)
Thanks

Good to know I'm thinking upgrading to a suite for a few hundred is worth it to get all 4 free promos and the nicer room

Those are all 'free'. The only difference is that the soda is NOT free.
There are choices of flavored waters, milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and juices (at breakfast) offered all day up in the buffet.
Is soda at least included in the MDRs?

Sauer- you beat me to it... Now this daily service charge is that seperate from gratuities? And is it $12.95 per person?

I was wondering the same thing, we're use to sailing on disney but with NCL being more then 50% less were leaning towards NCL. On disney we only paid gratuities and excurtions even soda was included. I don't want to be disapointed on NCL if all the extras cost. What about things like walking the plank, or climbing the rock wall, nightly shows, ice cream etc?

You could stay north of the city say at the ramada in new Rochelle.
Leave your car there but tell them first
Walk to metro north which is very doable from this location or ask if they have a shuttle bus if needed but it is about 1/4 mile
Take metro north into NYC the walk/ subway/ cab to terminal
Cab use is easiest
Hotel to pier round trip approx $70 for 2 plus hotel cost?
Alternately any hotel in westchester or jersey that is near public transport to either penn station or grand central and will let you leave the car there for free
Never ever look for a hotel in the Bronx though.

This sounds like a great plan we would take a taxi, any recommendations on a hotel?

Another thing we need to consider we will be driving a truck, that usually won't fit in some parking garages, not sure how either ports parking is, will this be a problem. Its a Chevy Silverado

Oh I just saw another post that Boston has a port, would this be more relaxed driving/parking? Sounds much better to me, 7 days to Bermuda its the same price as New York.

Its a lot to think about....
Cruise from NY is $3050 food is included we would need hotel night before and parking
Trip to WDW is $2700 would need $900 airfare from Buffalo, hotel night before as well (parking included), plus we need food roughly $1000 = $4600 without airport hotel
Is $1600 saving worth the hassle of going to NY plus we love cruising

In an effort to save airfare we are looking at booking a Norwegian cruise out of New York. I have a few questions, this will be my husbands first time driving in New York City he is a little timid even in Toronto will he be ok or should we not even consider this? What is the ports actual address? Would also need a hotel with a shuttle service, park and stay near by port. Thanks

We always bring a small desk fan anywhere we go, a night light for the washroom, potty seat for little one, air freshner is a great tip, beach toys you can leave on board, binoculars, ear plugs just in case, underwater camera is a must

Thanks for the responses I guess we are out of luck. Our vehicle would be stuck in Quebec (6hr drive from home) and a B2B is way too expensive. We might consider driving to Boston instead
