  1. Yes that was exactly the problem I was having. They said they would email me flights by the end of the day and then a week would go by. Kept calling and getting the run around, then didn’t care for the flights they offered, they were trying to charge me extra 1st because I was not flying out of a gateway so I switched to a gateway and then they wanted to charge me for switching flights! I ended up talking to 3 different people and finally have flights confirmed but overall was NOT a good experience and literally took more then a month:( glad others are having a better experience.

  3. If you have cruised with Scenic recently...did you have trouble getting flight info?

I’m starting to believe they only have 1 person working in the air dept for the US side and it’s impossible to speak with her...

I’m finding the customer service to be very frustrating pre cruise.

Is this isolated to me or an ongoing problem?

    Thx!

  4. Was on the same cruise. It didn't ruin our experience but I do feel large groups like this decrease the overall enjoyment of the cruise. I did not see one chaperone with these girls. Several were pushy and rude. Thinking about it now I wish I would have mentioned it in the survey I took after the cruise. I wish they would not book such large groups. I also overheard the cabin stewards talking about how dirty and messy they were leaving their rooms for the cabin stewards to clean up.

  5. I was on the same cruise. Had a great time and the review above is very accurate. My only complaint was that the emergency alarm (that you hear during the muster drill) went off at 4am! Very few people left their cabin but it scared me and took me a long time to get back to sleep. The captain announced about 10am the next morning that it went off in error and we were never in any danger but I would have liked to hear that at 4am when the alarm went off! Scary stuff when awaken from a sound sleep. I totally understand this stuff happens but I would have appreciated some communication.

From what I heard about the medical emergency it was handled well and they do have a cardiologist on board.

  6. We were so port intensive walking 10,000 to sometimes 20,000 steps a day...sometimes we skipped lunch due to being in port and trying to see everything...I pretty much ate what I wanted tho including several stops for gelato in port and came home the same weight:)

  7. I waited more then 1/2 of my 10 day cruise for the $20 laundry bag I read about on this board and sadly in never appeared...I said ok I'll just pay and get a few items cleaned...then I saw the prices...$1.75 for a pair of panties...off to the laundromat I went...great experience, chatted with the guy in charge of the laundry room who was very helpful...I started laundry, back to room to shower for dinner and then back to put them in dryer where I then relaxed with a predinner drink till they were dry:)

  8. Totally agree about massages which is why I always go for it wherever I go...I guess I wasn't necessarily talking about the massage itself...on Disney cruise my massage consisted of a foot bath/massage on an open deck, then a soak in the open deck hot tub, then inside for my massage and back out on the deck to lay on the bed and be served water and tea! Honestly I'm sure the massages themselves were equal as good...just those extra surprises made it special:)

On my Oceania massage as I was registering some guy was trying to get me to do a dual massage with him...I was whisked away before I could really understand our conversation. Once I entered the room it was a huge room with a bath tub in middle and another massage table set up so I guess he was trying to share my room. The other 1st time for me was heading into the waiting room once robed...they had u complete the questionnaire and that was my first time sitting with a mixture of men and women in my robe!

  9. In August the lasso therapy pool was very cold...I would not pay the extra $25 without asking the temp of the water. I booked a massage and I would say it was just average...nothing over the top or special but a nice relaxing massage...of all the massages I've had Disney was surprisingly the best actually:) As for drinks there was a water/tea station and a cart set up with soft drinks near the lasso pool! Lovely chairs and outdoor area but not enough shade for my paleness:(

  10. We stayed concierge level recently on Riviera. I don't think it helped at all with getting into the specialty once on board. I prebooked 2 and then we stopped at the desk 5 times and asked for openings...some days we got in (we shared a table once) and some days they were fully booked...we ended up in specialty 5 nights on a 10 cruise. I did enjoy the spa access and the lounge on r floor. Was it worth the extra money...not sure. I enjoyed it...hubby probably would have preferred the savings:)

  11. Was on board recently for our anniversary...we were given a cake and they sang for us in Polo. Cake was very good but we realized later we never got to see the dessert menu in Polo...I'm sure we missed out on something delicious but we left stuffed with no extra room for more dessert:(

  12. As for the Vat tax...I spent $330 in the boutique...was told that I could get custom stamp and refund at the airport which I did...I only rec'd $33 back so clearly not the entire 22%. It was pretty simple to do though and only took 5 minutes or so.

  13. I did see someone using the iron while on board last week while I did a load of laundry. An attendant was always in the room and was assisting her with the iron as well as very helpful to me...cleaned up detergent I spilled:(, put my dollars in for coins, handed me a laundry basket to use and put in an extra coin for me when he thought the dryer didn't have enough time on it. He even handed me a map of the city we were touring the next day. Detergent is provided. Great laundry room experience.

  14. Just off Riviera. I loved the tub and actually preferred the shower in the tub space when I didn't have time for the bath:) thought closet space was plentiful and had plenty of living space. We kinda used the sofa for our back packs and bags cause it was handy to have them available but could have found space if we wanted to put them away.

  15. Oops looks like it posted twice...the internet connection comes n goes:( yes tea is at 4 and it is absolutely wonderful but I wouldn't go there hot n sweaty after reboarding from port...Waves closes at 4...we did find some lovely petite sandwiches in the concierge lounge yesterday. I still have not tried a milkshake or found the barista but on my agenda today. The coffee in horizons today was delicious...stumbled on that since I overslept Bkfst:)

  16. I'm currently on the Riviera as well:)... I found those sticky buns on day 4 and I love them...but after reading this I just realized I have not found the coffee bar or had a milkshake yet....I'm currently in that 4-6pm slot where it's hard to find food!

  18. I am currently on board the Riviera...I have only done about 6 cruises so far all different destinations...provided time and money were of no issue...u can only see such a small area of the city at each port...so I would have no issue returning to a port I have visited before...kinda like been to New York 4 times...still haven't seen it all:)

  19. I do not believe we get a butler with our concierge suite but that's ok as I don't know what I would do with him anyways:) I'm a quick learner tho if my budget ever increases and I get to see of those Suites!

Sorry about my "R". That means "are" in my texting world which is unconsciously sneaking into my other writings:(
