1. As to the internet....

They have 3 tiers of WiFi: social for $14.99 per day, surf for $24.99 per day and premium for $29.99 per day. That’s what was on the informational flier handed out.

You can have more than 1 account per stateroom but only one device at a time used on each account.

We Bought premium, and it was 7 days for $139.99 for each account. Once you go to the buy page, it gives you that “deal” of a price for the entire cruise. It seems better than the 1000minutes for $250, maybe?

Premium Allows for audio/video, calling and streaming. We bought 2 accounts for our room, so we could have flexibility on who would have access to WiFi.

It’s a bit quirky as it keeps logging us out, not sure about the timeframe, but it’s ok for speed.

Hi just wondering what do you mean “once you go to buy page”? Sorry it will be our first time cruising with Holland and yes I am super excited. Me and my hubby would need internet. Thank you!

  2. You do not need boots. They provide boots that fit over your walking shoes. As far as clothing, layers for sure. They told us the glacier is typically 20 degrees F cooler than at sea level in Skagway. We had a beautiful sunny day last week and thought this the best part of the trip. When it is your turn to be on the back of the sled, HANG ON!!! I took a tumble. Got lots of grief for that one.:D

Thank u for the advise, hopefully the weather will be good so they won't cancel it.

  3. We live about 40 miles from the Pier 91 terminal. The last 4 years we’ve parked at the Seattle cruise park lot http://www.seattlecruiseparking.com/ $140 for the week and they will pick you and everyone else in your party up at your car and drop you off at the terminal. Last year we left the house at 10:15am. Arrived at the parking lot at around 10:45am and caught one of the first shuttles to the terminal. Once you’re at the terminal you drop off your checked luggage downstairs at then proceed upstairs to finish the check-in process. Your carryon bags will go through an x-ray machine. Once you’re past this point you’ll see the different lines, get in the one that is for Elite, Platinum, suites, handicap or something like that. Another little tip, have all your paperwork handy, Passports, Boarding passes, etc. nothing get my blood pressure up faster than being behind someone who is digging around trying to find their papers, one year I walked around them, now got them PO’d. Once you’ve gotten all checked in Elite, Platinum, suites, handicap and go out the door to the left on to the platform, everyone else will go out to long line on the right. At least this is how it was last year. I detest driving in Seattle, I had to go to Ballard yesterday mid-morning, and it was terrible. The Mercer Street is still a mess off of I-5. Emilyethanmom, Where about in Washington do you live?

Eaglecw, we live at Newcastle. Thanks for all the info. Can't wait til next week!

  4. Thanks everyone, we are planning to get there by 11:00 because we have to park our car at the week long parking lot that is nearby, so by the time I drop off my hubby, mom and DD. I have to park the car with my DS(5 years old) take the shuttle back to the checking place. I am sure by then we can start check in already!:)

  5. We are leaving with Grand Princess to Alaska next week, I just receive an email said our boarding time for Our desk is at 1:00pm, if I remember correctly we can start check-in at 11:00am, is that true or do I have to wait until after 1:00pm. I have a special needs 8years old just don't want to stuck in a long long line even we are in full suites. Thanks!

  6. Help, we are taking our son for the helicopter ride and dog sleeping, just wonder we will be Skagway on May 27th, I booked the tour at 8:45am. should I book the later tour at 10:50am because I saw on the forum this tour has higher chance to get cancelled due to weather issue. Which one is more recommend to book the 8:45am or the 10:50am? I know it's hard to tell but please let me know base on your experience. Thanks:)

  7. We have usually arrived by 11AM and had no mobs to deal with. Being in a suite you will have a shorter line anyway…but should be able to avoid the crowds. You will not be able to go to your cabin then once on the ship (usually), but can hang out in the public areas for a bit (lunch) until cleared to go to your cabin. Have a great time!

Thanks for the reply, usually when can we go into our room right away?

  8. Hi everyone:

We will be sailing in the end May to Alaska with Grand Princess. Because we will be traveling with my special needs daughter (8 years old). We would like to find out when is the best time to check in to avoid a lot of people and waiting time? We will be in seattle port. We are very lucky to stay in a full suite this time. We live in seattle so just want to find when is the best time to check in to avoid a lot of people.Thanks.

  9.
I was able to change my Alaska reservation last week. Our stateroom went down in price and we qualified for the new offer. I booked directly with Princess and my aunt used a TA. We were both able to switch over to the new offer. It's worth a call to find out.
I will give them a call tomorrow, thanks:D
