You might want to look at the Dublin walking tour, which leaves earlier.  It was a great introduction to Dublin, and for our cruise at the end of July, was cheaper than the Dublin On Your Own tour.

We had considered that.  Is it possible to leave the tour and arrange our own transport back to the ship?  We have tickets for St. Patrick's Cathedral at 12:00, so could not do the entire walking tour.

If the excursion is through Carnival you will receive priority tender access before those not on Carnival sponsored excursions. So in short, you would be one of the first ones on the tender and off the ship.

Thanks Stobe1, that's what I was hoping!  I wasn't sure about this one because it leaves after the tender line will already be open.

  3. We will be on Pride next week and are debating buying the Dublin On Your Own Excursion. I'm curious to know if this excursion leaves when it says it does or do the participants wait in the long tender line? If it saves us hours of line waiting, it's 100% worth it to me to pay to have extra time in Dublin, but if we will be in the line with everyone else, I don't want to waste the money.  It says the hours of the excursion are 10-4:30, so I'm curious how much of that is actually in the city vs time in line, tendering, transportation, etc.

Buckler went away a few years back, as other posters have said, Heiniken .00 is sold on board now.

If wanted, there are also FOB mtgs on ships as well.

Thank you.  He does know, but it's been a while, so thanks for the reminder.  Cruises definitely are a place where a meeting can be a life saver.

The problem is that it is not prohibited in their policies. I don't see it as a problem and would just go for it AND bring a copy of their own policy along with me in case it was a issue. Simply/calmly ask to speak to a supervisor, explain the situation, present policy (in writing) and it should be allowed. It's basically the same as water/soda/bubble water and should not be treated any differently.

    • Non-alcoholic beverages in containers other than a can or carton; excessive quantities per person (over 12 cans/cartons per person); excessive size per can/carton (over 12 ounces each)

Totally agree!  It is pretty much just beer flavored soda! 🤷‍♀️

It'll likely be hit or miss based on who you get checked by.....

That's kind of what I'm thinking too.

If we knew the Heineken 0% would be available on board, it would be much easier just to buy that (and not lug around heavy cans at embarkation).

  7. Does anyone know if my husband can bring non-alcoholic beer with him?  Is it considered a non-alcoholic beverage (allowed) or beer (not allowed)?  He would be thrilled to be able to purchase non-alcoholic beer onboard, but the only one Carnival offers is Buckler, which is .5% alcohol and not something he can do.  There are several 0% varieties and that's what he would like to take with him to enjoy during our cruise.

  8. Hi GAPaige

I am really happy that your mother is progressing well in her rehabilitation. That being said, unless it is not practical for you, she should consider bringing her walker or better yet a wheelchair. There are many situations while cruising, aside from the muster where people have to stand or walk for long distances.

While your mother might be well enough to manage without discomfort, personally I would rather have the walker or wheelchair and not need it than finding one day that the walking is too much for her.

    have a great cruise

Thanks Nic! She flat-out refuses to consider the wheelchair, but we may possibly be able to get her to use her walker. She had the other hip done last year and recovered nicely and is working hard in her PT, so I feel like she should be OK in most cases. That said, the walker with the little seat on it might be a great thing for those times that she takes on too much (which she undoubtedly will).

Thank you all for your help-I definitely feel more confident that she will be given a safe place to sit during muster.

  9. Hello, we are set to sail on Liberty at the end of this month for my daughter's graduation. My mother is coming with us on this trip and has recently had hip surgery. She is using a walker/cane right now, but will be 100% cane supported by then, if everything goes as expected (she's doing great!). We are concerned about her standing for a long time during the muster drill. Is there any exception made for people in her situation to have a place to sit? She does have a handicapped parking pass and could definitely get a note from her doctor if necessary.

    Thanks!

  10. Several years ago (on a Carnival ship) there was a family with a younger teen daughter (I would guess in the 13-14 age range), who clearly had some mental disabilities. They had been playing in the pool as a family and when they were done, they proceeded to undress, dry off and dress this girl in dry clothes right there on the pool deck in front of everyone. It was incredibly awkward and I was so embarrassed for the poor girl.
