    You're right, I can. However, answering a decent survey is much easier, faster and more efficient for everyone involved. How many people have the time to sit down and write a letter? I don't and I probably won't.

     

    Individual letters make things more difficult for Celebrity as well. Both in time and information offered, not to mention that it's questionable whether the information gets to the right department/people.

     

    Well thought out surveys solve many of these issues and provides me, the customer, with prompts on what data Celebrity is looking for. A good survey that also includes room for the participant to freely write additional information is a win-win for both the company and the customer.

  2. We recently returned from our Alaska cruise. No survey. My address is on file - and we certainly get the almost-daily advertisements from them.

     

    I didn't even know about the "Attention to Details" card. We were never informed about them at any point during online check-in, nor at check-in at the pier, nor on the ship. If it was mentioned somewhere in the daily papers, I missed it and I read those pretty thoroughly. I would have gladly filled out several.

     

    This is very unfair to the crew who work so hard and deserve to be commended for their work.

     

    And it's a disservice to Celebrity, as they can only learn from the information gathered via a detailed survey, whether positive or negative.

    PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:

     

    The balcony is partially obstructed by the overhang, but the supports were not directly obstructing in this cabin.

     

    On our Alaska cruise in May/June 2014, we did hear the occasional chair scraping noise from deck 10 (I believe 9061 is underneath the solarium) - however we didn't think it was too bad, once we identified what the noise was. It didn't seem as loud in the cabin as it was on the balcony (and then it wasn't very loud).

     

    There is a steward closet a few doors down from this cabin. We heard them occasionally, but it didn't bother us as we were usually up and out of the room by 8 AM.

     

    Note: I'm a light sleeper and I was never disturbed by any noises. We were up early, though. I can't say if/how I would be affected by any noise if I tried to sleep in.

     

    The bathroom: The bathroom was clean. However, when I opened the cabinets under the sink, there was a distinct musty smell - like water had collected in there. The AQ shower doors have a design flaw (mentioned in other posts) which allows water to run outside of the shower. I fixed this by doubling up the bath mat and placing it on the threshold and closed the doors from inside the shower which allowed for a tighter seal. This seemed to work. It's a minor annoyance, once you learn to work with it.

     

    This cabin has quick access to the forward elevators & stairs.

  4. We just returned from the May 30th sailing from Seward to Vancouver on the Millennium.

     

    I have nothing bad to say about the majority of the crew - most were friendly and bent over backwards to help make our cruise enjoyable. We felt well taken care of.

     

    I can't even find anything bad to say about the ship. This was our first time on the Millennium and yes - there is some wear in places, mainly from the corrosive salt water and air. But nothing unexpected and it didn't really bother me. Overall, the ship is beautiful.

     

    We encountered the infamous shower door design flaw in our AquaClass cabin, but found a way around that easily enough.

     

    I understand there were some people who were ill on our sailing, but that info came from other passengers and not the crew, and I'm not sure if it was a result of seasickness, noro or something else. We did notice more vigilance in handing out sanitizer to everyone, but that may have been a precaution left over from the previous noro outbreak. We never saw the "Code Red" precautions in the buffet or anywhere else during our cruise.

     

    This was our first Celebrity cruise (we sailed Royal Caribbean before) and we enjoyed it so much we booked another one while on board. :)

  5. We've done both the regular dining seating and the MTD on FOS. While we don't have kids, we do know that if you choose not to eat in the dining room, you have a lot of other choices.

     

    The Windjammer Buffet is where we ended up most of the time. You typically get some of the same foods as in the dining room, but in a much less formal and relaxed atmosphere. We really enjoyed our dinners there. I think they open at 6pm.

     

    Other venues are open for dinner as well. Pizza (Sorrentos), sandwiches (Cafe Promenade) and burgers (Johnny Rockets with a small fee) can all be found.

     

    With MTD, you don't have to make reservations in the dining room if you don't want to, but it is an option. The nice thing about MTD is that you can eat where you want, when you want. And if there's a wait at the dining room and you don't want to wait, you can go elsewhere. I think if I had kids along on the cruise, I would definitely do MTD - it just seems easier to me.
