  1. We'll be on the Harmony V next May for a Greek Isles tour. I've opted for the upgrade to a Level B cabin. We can have the beds as twins or together. We've been on small ship tours before where the beds were so narrow that together was impossible. (A Yangtze R cruise was a prime example.) Does anyone know the situation on the Harmony V?

Any other useful info about this ship and cruise?

  2. We sailed on Infinity Panama Canal cruise in fall 2009. The a cappella group the Dockers were sensational. As the cruise went along, their performances reached SRO popularity.

We just returned 6/17 from Summit Bermuda cruise. The a cappella group onboard was Up Till Two, and they had an audience from the beginning. But IMO they don't compare. Even dh, who isn't really into the musical performances, remarked on how the Dockers were so much better. (In UTT's defense, they mentioned how they're usually a 6-man group and had to reduce to 4 for the cruise so that might be a factor.)

So my question is: are the Dockers still performing on X? A check of their website wasn't very informative so I'm suspecting they may have disbanded.

BTW, there are some You Tube videos is you're interested in seeing how good the Dockers are/were.

  3. We had a waiter on the Century in 2004 named Marius from Romania. I do not remember his last name but he was an exceptional waiter. He had an assistant waiter named Germain and the two of them were fantastic. They are the measuring stick I still use when comparing wait staff. Not sure where they went and I wish I had gotten their last names.

Marius from Romania may still be around. We had a Marius from Romania on Infinity, and he was great. I regularly consulted him on which menu item to choose, and he never steered me wrong. Our table (421? 204?) was starboard side, three from the front. We were among the first served, never felt rushed.

We also had a great sommelier. Ayden from Turkey. Very personable. I can't recall the asst waiter's name (not Germain), but he too was very good.

    Altogether a great dining experience.

  4. My dh and I did this inadvertently once. I didn't see him after he'd dressed for work and left. I picked him up at work and we went out to dinner and a concert. At that time I discovered we were both wearing a navy blazer and gray beneath (slacks or skirt) with a blue shirt. I felt absolutely stupid playing twins.

I heard a similar story from a friend who had a friend <g> whose hubby bought them matching t-birds in light blue. Gag.

My dh and I have already hit that point in marriage where we often have the same thought at the same time and order the same thing in a restaurant. Give me a little individuality please. I'm holding on by my fingertips here.
