I realize it is back everywhere.  My wife and I have managed to not contact Covid since the beginning of the pandemic.  Only upon cruising did we finally get unlucky.

Cruise ships are a great place to spread any type of virus.

Our cabin attendant looked like she was about to collapse.  She disappeared for 2 days and we were told that she was seasick.  She  came back to work with a mask and still looked unwell.  I have a suspision that this was the source of transmission.

Just returned from cruise. In fact, I am writing this while waiting for the plane from LAX to SFO.

I would like to put in a word for Zoom. We booked him a few days ago in Saigon. We did were unsure if we would get Zoom or one of his employees since he had to go to Hanoi to supervise.

We did have Zoom in the end and really enjoyed the day with him.

A nice DVD of our tour was delivered to the Sofitel the next day. We couldn't figure out why Zoom was taking all the pictures during the tour until he hold us his motive at the end of the tour.

The weather was HOT and HUMID during our last day in Saigon but we had 6:00pm checkout of the hotel and were able to shower and rest before our 9:00 pick up to the airport.

I am sorry that you had to cancel. Hope you are recovering. We were looking forward to meeting you since we have been on similar trips in the past. Last December we were on the Fram for the Shackleton Christmas trip. It wasn't as long as your cruise, but we still really enjoyed it.

Maybe some other time and trip.

Yes, we are on the Dec. 6 trip. We're doing the extensions and will be arriving a day before the tour begins in Hanoi. We were in Hanoi a few years ago and wanted to see a few things that we missed the first time.

Thanks for all the great information. I will be doing the AMAWaterway trip this December. So - my question is: Has anyone used the on-line Vietnam Visa service (http://www.vietnamvisa.com) to get the visa? If so, did everything go well? I really don't like sending my passport through the mail and would prefer an electronic service.

We have just booked the December La Marguerite trip. We were in Hanoi a few years ago and decided to extend a few days in both Hanoi and Saigon. We enjoyed Vietnam and the Vietnamese so much last time we really wanted to see more of the country.

Last December we were on an Antartica expedition with Hurtegruten. This will really be a different experience. No penguins!
