  1. Has anyone taken the Azamara transfer from Civitavecchia to FCO? We will be on pursuit in April and I’m trying to decide on transport options when we debark. Our flight is around 1230. Wondering if I should arrange a private transfer or book Aza transfer. We’ve used private transfers in past after Celebrity cruises.

  2. We’ve sailed in both Equinox and Edge in the past year or so. Both were excellent trips! Equinox didn’t feel tired to me, but the furniture in the suites was a bit dated. However, public areas were lovely, service was the best we’ve had on any ship, bars were terrific, and shows were good. I wouldn’t hesitate a bit to book a trip on Equinox! And the Med is stunning, so the better balconies on Equinox would be a plus.

Thrilled to read a positive review!  My husband and I are asking July 2nd in a Celebrity Suite.  The comments on this board are pretty negative and I was starting to worry!

How was Luminae?  Specialty restaurants?  Was the retreat deck enjoyable or too windy?

We did this 8 day cruise in late May and loved it! We found the service everywhere to be the best we have had at sea! The service was outstanding in Luminae, the Retreat, Murano, and in all venues we visited.  And our butler, Katerina, went above and beyond! Great entertainment as well. Have a lovely trip!

Of our 3 previous Retreat cruises our butler, Katerina, was the best of any cruise.

The crew were all as friendly as any Celebrity cruise and so well trained.

We recently sailed in an Equinox sky suite as well, and Katerina was just exceptional! Service in both Luminae and the Retreat Lounge was as well! We didn’t expect our Equinox Retreat experience to compare to our recent trip on Edge, but it was just fantastic. I think the service on Equinox was the best service we’ve had at sea. Thanks for sharing your great review. It makes me want to be back onboard!

  5. We’ve recently sailed in sky suites on Edge and Equinox. We found the Luminae food and service to be quite comparable on both ships. We did enjoy the more intimate feel of Luminae on Equinox, and it was nice being able to easily order a course from the MDR anytime. We also liked the suite layout and balcony size/furniture better on Equinox, even though it was not as elegant as the suite on Edge. We found the Retreat areas, both inside and out, much better on Edge; but again, the intimate feel of the lounge on Equinox is lovely.  Loved both cruises and the Retreat experiences!

    QUESTION -

When I research cruises on the new website, choose a cruise, and go to see what cabins are available - when I choose a category, instead of going to a list of available cabins, it goes directly to ask for my personal information or sign in.

Is that what is happening for everyone?

Same here.  And when I sign in and proceed with choosing the cabin type, it automatically assigned one to me. There was a drop down to change the cabin number after that,  which I did, but upon completing the reservation it reverted to the first automatically assigned one.  I know it’s impossible to get through by phone right now, so I guess we’ll just leave it be. I can’t see any way to change it at this point. It put us in 7008, which is farther forward than I would have chosen. (The website does show you the available cabins on the drop down at booking, but it just doesn’t retain the choice you make.) Oh well, I am sure it will be a lovely cruise and worth any headaches up front!

  7. Hi. We haven’t cruised since pre-Covid. We’ll finally be on Edge out of Civitavechia in May, sailing at 5:00. Any info on how embarkation times work now would be appreciated! We’re in a sky suite if that makes any difference for boarding times. I’m looking into transportation from Florence to port and not sure what time to shoot for.  I also haven’t decided whether to get a driver from Florence to port, or to save a few $ and take a train to Rome Termini first and then a car transfer from Termini to port.  Any advice?  We’ve cruised out of Civi a couple of times, but this time we’ll be coming in from Florence on cruise day, so I want to have all my ducks in a row and get our transport booked. Thanks.
