I hadn't been in her before, but had been on the Encore.

From what it seems, the seating areas in the walkway port side are gone, whereas remain on the starboard side.

But all the observation windows are still there as far as I can see.

Ship has a new feel to it for things like carpets and general appearance.

Do you know if vibe has a pool?

  2. Does anyone know if NCL lets you know if your bid was denied? I am 2 days away from sailing and still havent heard anything.

Do they email you with a denial or you just assume it is a no 48 hours before sailing?

Thanks to anyone who can help

  3. welcome to the cruising world !!! I am also on this cruise and cant wait. This will be my 12th time on the Gem, she is my favorite ship of the fleet. I usually like to get there a little towards the later side because of the craziness at the port around 10am. Keep in mind this cruise leaves at 3pm so your paperwork will say board by 1pm. I would plan on getting to the port about 12:30 and you should breeze right through.

Have a blast !!! See you on board

  4. I love this story !!!! thanks for sharing.

September 2011 I took my sister on a cruise to get out of NY for the 10th anniversary of September 11th ( she is a survivor thank god......my heart goes out to all those that lost loved ones ) she was also going thru a long divorce so it seemed the best time to go.

We boarded on September 10th and the day of September 11th she meet a nice guy on the ship.Well a week of hanging out with him and seeing him here and there blossomed into a relationship over time.

Three years later we all booked a family cruise together and he proposed in the exact spot he first laid eyes on her on the same ship. It was very romantic.

They are now happily married and yes did the honeymoon on a cruise.

Thanks for sharing your story...........sometimes fate has a funny way of getting people together

Enjoy your cruise with your family !!!!

  5. A woman lost her wedding ring in the spa on the dawn a few years back and she was besides herself!!! My husband went into the pool and searched for her and did find it, She was elated. The woman told the staff at the spa how my husband searched for it for her and they sent a bottle of wine to our room as a Thank you.

That was not necessary but it was a nice Gesture by NCL to thank people for helping others out.

Fast forward to this year my husbands necklace opened up in the pool and he lost a charm that was his fathers with sentimental value. We started to search the pool and as others realized we were looking for something everyone searched with us. We found the charm after about a half hour search but he was so happy to have it back !!!!

I am a strong believer in Karma

  6. So sorry to hear of your news !!!! My feeling is Alaska...............I went for the first time last June and did not think I was going to enjoy it since I LOVE warm weather and it was an AMAZING trip!!!! Go for the forward facing penthouse you see everything close up with a full view and it is breathtaking. You can go inside when you are cold get a hot drink and still see everything from that cabin....

Good luck to you and your family sending positive vibes:)
