  1. Been 9 years since I’ve been on cunard but considering a crossing this year.  I find the wording on their website ambiguous as to formal wear.

“…a Gala Evening, where we do ask that you observe a black-tie dress code. Again, it’s your choice whether to participate in these evenings …”

They ask but it’s my choice?

so can I dine in brittania restaurant without a tux?  Will suit suffice? Would I be kicked out with a sports coat and no tie?

  2. Well I’m happy to report that I received my refund this morning. That’s 3 months plus a day from when I requested it. A little stressful. For those waiting: it will happen.

thank you JPH814 for this thread and your spreadsheets. I appreciate it.

tv24, I am same stage as you and this morning, I received the deposit for the second cruise of our two B2Bs.  I am hoping that his means things are moving but find it strange, why just this, why not the cruise before this one?

And it's only £900 out of a total of £18,000 owed!

But to see just anything from SB is good, maybe next week will be the week for both of us!

Misery loves company, I’m there with you! Let’s think positive thoughts for this week, we can’t wait forever.....right?!!

  4. Called SB just now and did get some different news this time. She told me that the air fare refund was recently confirmed with the airline. She said that they have to call the airlines and it was taking hours to get through especially in the early days. So with that part done they would proceed to complete the refund.

So perhaps having air through SB was one of the contributing factors to my refund being late.

still no ETA though but hopefully soon.

Although I've taken it up with my TA over a week ago, and SB a week before that, I am today going to ring SB again as I am second on the list as having waited the longest at 90 days tomorrow.

We paid by debit card, and I was told by SB that fact would save up to 5 days.  Apparently once SB have instigated the refund, it is instant to a debit card but can be up to 5 days for a CC.   Also apparently the payment was made direct to SB, despite booking and paying through a TA, which again would make the payment come through quicker as the refund does not have to go via my TA.

All this now appears to be just nonsense given the fact there are so many embarkation dates and refund request dates after me who have been refunded, and I feel fobbed off.

This was our most lengthy and expensive cruise, it's about $23K (£18K) owed and my patience is wearing thin (understatement!)

It was two back to back cruises, and I fear for my blood pressure if only the first comes through and I have to wait again for the second!

Let us know what you hear. I’m calling today as well once they open up in Seattle.

  6. Am I allowed to feel both happy for those getting their refunds and angry that I haven’t gotten mine?!

How seabourn can process refunds for cruises in April, May,June or even later, when people are waiting for March cruises is beyond me.

but like I said I am happy for those who received their refund!!

  7. I am now officially over 12 weeks from when my cruise was cancelled. I never would have thought it would take this long.
I will keep making my weekly call to push but it doesn’t seem to make much difference.

  8. For what it’s worth, I called seabourn today to check. They said my March cruise should have been refunded by now and it must have fallen through the cracks somehow. They said it is now in a different queue That deals with errors. I’m not sure what to believe but for now I’m trusting that it is going to be dealt with. We shall see.

Cruise embarkation was to be 1/13/2021. Cancelled 4/9/20 and received refund to CC on 5/25/20.

    Take care,

    Mike

While happy for Mike why should I still be waiting for a refund for my March 28 2020 cruise that was cancelled March 15?
    doesn’t seem right.
