Received email this morning I won bid for AFT Balcony Haven Suite.  Original room was Club Balcony Suite thru CAS.  Bid was just slightly higher than the minimum.  Sailing is Bliss Nov. 28

Congrats! Curious do you remember what the minimum and maximum bids were for club balcony to haven? I have similar situation on Bliss for later cruise.

I sailed on the Joy Deck 9 H6, bed is by the balcony - we were never able to get the separate door to open.

Two wheels has listed balcony sizes & bed configuration on several threads.  BA & BA+ have bed by balcony on different decks

How come that door didn't open? Was it broken? I remember it opening on the breakaway class ships.

  3. Hello Everyone. I was wondering about everyone's experiences on the Norwegian Joy Aft Haven Suites (H6). There were only a few reviews in the review section. I know there are a few topics about this, but I am still slightly confused. I understand that the balconies on deck 9 are the largest and then deck 12, but I'm not understanding the bed location. There is mention of configuration A and B. Are these different per deck? Specifically, I wanted to know if the bed on deck 9 is closer to the balcony with the separate door to the balcony like on the breakaway ships. Thanks!

  4. I returned from the Pearl last week and nope could not use OBC for gambling. As others have said you USED to be able to draw money from your OBC account via the little players card and the actual slot machine, no longer.

When I asked about the change I was told the machines take money ONLY...they just kept repeating that. With that said if you still have $10 left on a machine and want to go to another machine, yes you can cash out, get a ticket and simply insert it into the next machine.

But again as for getting any of your OBC to play with a no go. We each had $200 OBC and were planning on using it to gamble with. I was ok as I had also brought cash, but my friend really had not brought extra to gamble with so you didn't go to the casino.

I didn't win anything, but didn't spend much. I left the ship with $121 refundable credit that NCL will send me a check.

Would I have spent that $121 in the casino, probably yes, so I am not sure if the NCL new policy is helping there bottom line any.

Just to clarify, does this mean that you no longer can go to the casino cage and draw money against your shipboard account with the 3% fee?

  5. I just got off the Breakaway on 2/28 and hit a Quick Hits $3K jackpot ($3 spin.) There were a couple of other similar Quick Hit jackpots on my cruise -- including one woman playing 30 cents hit 9 Quick Hits during a "Quick Hit Fever" bonus round (payout $1K.)

The biggest hit during my cruise was on the $5 machines - woman playing max bet (5 credits/$25) hit 3 consecutive jackpots on the same machine within 30 minutes - first $12K (if I remember correctly) then two $5K jackpots. Even the casino folks couldn't get over that one! :)

    Good luck!!! :)

Wow that lady was lucky. It sounds like that is out of the ordinary though.. What is considered "high limit" slots on the breakaway?

Penny, 2 cent, nickel, quarters, dollars, 5 dollars, 25 dollars.

Slots have been pretty tight lately.

Thanks for the information! I appreciate it.

  6. I will be sailing on the norwegian breakaway next month and was wondering if anyone knew what slot machine denominations are on the breakaway that you saw?

Also, has anyone won or saw anyone else get a jackpot recently? Or has it been quite cold? Thanks in advance!

  7. No key required - it's got a built in turn lock but that's all. And when it was really windy, the door is hard to open. I suspect that is how it ended up shattered. The butler said it was an elderly woman, and I can picture that door just getting away from her.

We couldn't hear any voices from the owner's suite next door, but I could hear someone coughing occasionally as well as muffled tv sound. Very faint. The nice thing is the bedroom is on the outside, so you have bathroom on one side and living room on the other. You hear nothing in there :-) I wouldn't recommend the DOS for more than 2 people. I don't think l would want to be a third sleeping in the living room. There is a picket door between the 2 rooms, and each has a separate balcony door.

Thank you! I am looking forward to my cruise. It will only be the two of us, so sounds like it will be great! :)

  8. You can open it yourself. I was in a DOS on breakaway last month. Wasn't a problem.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

We are just off the Breakaway this morning and had DOS 16102. The door opens easily to the side balcony, but all the furniture is in the front. Keep in mind the balcony is super windy when sailing. We didn't get much use out of it. The aft haven suites are so much better if you plan to use the balcony a lot. But the suite itself is awesome :-)

Thanks for the information! Did the door require a key to open or is it something we can open ourselves?

Also, did any of you all experience the problem in the last post regarding noise bleed from the other room? I had read about the removable wall, which is a downer since the room looks amazing. Thanks again

  9. I'm planning on sailing in the Haven for the first time and was looking into the DOS category on the breakaway ships, but I had heard that they now have a door on the balcony blocking access to the side of the balcony. Has anyone heard about this so called door and can it be opened at all? If so, can it be opened by me and my suitemates or would I have to call on the butler every time to open it? I imaging it would flop like a sail if opened while the ship is under way. Thanks in advance!
