May I ask what time your return flight is and what time you scheduled them to pick you up a the port?

We haven't purchased the return flights yet, waiting on Southwest to open but I'm looking at either a 2 or 4pm flight from Hobby. I scheduled Galveston express for a 10/10:30am pickup. May spend a couple hours in the airport.

What time do you schedule your port to airport (hobby) shuttle if you have a 2:30 flight?

Also, has anyone used Carnival shuttle, or do you have an independent you would recommend?

I've been scheduled with Galveston express since March of last year when my first cruise cancelled. I just keep changing the date and ship when the cruise gets cancelled. They have been really good so far working with me. They pick up and drop off at both airports.

I personally wouldn't book before noon.

Galveston is 45mins-1hour from Hobby, add another 45 minutes to IAH.

Great thank you. I will definitely look for later especially since I've read comments about the fog, although it's not as common in November.

  4. We are hopefully going on a cruise in November from Galveston, I have never cruised out of this port. What would be the earliest time you would book for a return flight for both airports?  I'm looking into airfare for both right now. Thanks for your advice

Celebrity has announced that ship excursions are NOT required for their new St Maarten sailings.  I would guess RC will be the same.

    Good news.

I'll wear a mask on boarding, etc. crowded places,  if absolutely necessary, but not being able to wander on my own would be a deal killer.

Agreed, as most people have said we wear a mask now so what is the difference. But I want to be able to come and go as I please. A lot of the islanders will loose money if people aren't allowed to take the excursions they offer or stopping at local places to shop, drink etc. The locals will loose money the desperately need.

  6. Just curious for anyone who has stayed in a Galveston hotel the night before the cruise... Was it hard to get either uber or lyft the day of departure? Also, did you notice any surge? I'm planning on using Galveston express when we return as we will go directly back to the airport.

    Thanks for your input!

  7. We have an October 2020 cruise which was just cancelled and when I go to transfer my funds to a future cruise I have booked it's starting they are unable to locate my original cruise. I confirmed on my carnival manager the booking number, date etc. but it's still not allowing me. Forget trying to call their telephone lines are down.

    Anyone else having issues.

This was a cancelled cruise from April but that was under different booking number.

I read threw all of the Aug & Sept topic and i am still at a coin flip. I have a final payment due for my Sept cruise. Still say's i am booked and sailing as of this time. I can go ahead and complete the online check in at no cost . Still wary of sending final payment for this cruise as we have already re-booked a canceled cruise with the 600 OBC for May 2021. I sure hope its a capacity thing not another cancellation. Fingers crossed.

I've seen prior mention of people calling carnival to request an extension of payment to 1 month prior to cruise. I'd look into this before paying if possible.

When my gym opens up in Connecticut(june 20) we may be required to wear masks if we can't maintain 6 feet apart and there may be a member limit this makes sense.

Gyms in RI are opening on June 1st and they are requiring masks, if not able to maintain 6 feet. I can't imagine that is going to be easy.
