    Bingo!

I think the concern now is whether they still do the ol "cruise passenger shuffle" whereby you can show up at 9 am, check in, check out, get your pink Atlantis access cards and walk up the hill to Atlantis.  I didn't make my usual 3-day trip to Atlantis last fall, so I can't say I witnessed it that recently.  The year before, yes.

Has anyone recently done the Comfort Inn “hack” and gotten the Atlantis passes? I can book a room there with my Choice points so it would come out to be a lot cheaper than buying passes directly from RCI/Atlantis. Just want to confirm this still works before booking (and ideally don’t want to call the hotel and ask directly)

Just did Atlantis via Comfort Suites and booked the hotel with points through choicehotels.com for our August cruise.  I bought most of the points I needed.  I needed 3 rooms for 12 people going to Atlantis and so I only needed 30,000 points (only 10,000/night per oom)..  There had been some postings about Comfort suites not guarenteeing  access to Atlantis on the day of arrival so obviously not good for trying to get into Atlantis from a cruise ship.  I had called at one point and was given the same message.  I booked anyways and called from th ship the day before and said there would be no problem.  The process took a while to get the 12 vouchers which then have to be presented at the Royal Tower desk for entry.  There are a number of fees and I was charged $191/room at Comfort Suites, but still less than $60pp even adding in the cost of the points.

We had a good time for the most part, but lost time on the slides because they close them if lightning is in the area.  What suprised me at Atlantis was that food and drink prices were fairly reasonable.

Atlantis day passes are running $199 pp, so I was thinking of doing this “hack” for my friend and I on our upcoming cruise. It looks like a room at the Comfort Inn is only 10k Choice points, which I can buy for $75 since they’re running a points sale currently. So…what am I missing here? I understand there are extra fees to pay at the hotel, but this still seems to good to be true….

  3. On Royal’s site they advertise the Best Price Guarantee, T&Cs below. Does this apply as well to bookings made through a TA (assuming the price drop is found on Royal’s site per the terms)?

We booked yesterday through a TA and are inside final payment period so would only be eligible for OBC, but the exact same stateroom category dropped on our sailing on Royal’s site. Wondering if I call Royal (or my TA??) if they will give the difference back in OBC.

You will have 48 hours after you reserve to find a lower price. If you do, you will receive 100% of the difference applied to your reservation as an onboard credit. This lowest rate must be a rate publicly advertised by Royal Caribbean International. Program terms and conditions apply.

    Terms & Conditions

The Royal Caribbean Best Price Guarantee applies to the cruise rate only. The Royal Caribbean Best Price Guarantee will not apply to government fees and taxes and/or any fuel supplement charge. Lower rates must be Royal Caribbean's publicly advertised rates available to the general public. Group rates, membership programs, charters or other Travel Agent promotions not offered by Royal Caribbean to the general public, including but not limited to travel agent rebates are ineligible. To submit a Royal Caribbean Best Price Guarantee claim, please click on the link above and complete all the required information. You will be asked to provide the lower rate amount and where the rate can be found. The lower rate must: i) be for the same ship, sail date, stateroom category and number of guests; and ii) be available for reserving at the time Royal Caribbean reviews your submitted Royal Caribbean Best Price Guarantee claim form. All Royal Caribbean Best Price Guarantee claim forms must be submitted on-line within 48 hours of reserving your cruise and verified by Royal Caribbean in order to qualify for the onboard credit. The onboard credit is non-refundable, non-transferable and has no cash value. Any unused portion of the onboard credit will be forfeited. The Royal Caribbean Best Price Guarantee may be discontinued or changed at any time without notice. The Royal Caribbean Best Price Guarantee is applicable to North American reservations only.

  4. We are on an upcoming complimentary sailing as part of the Casino Royale offer match. In the booking details, it says that “Complimentary drinks in Casino Royale are extended as part of the Offer for Recipient and Recipient’s guest in the same reservation”.

Is our SeaPass coded to get the complimentary Casino drinks? Or do we get a SeaPass sticker from someone in the Casino?

  5. I love the Oasis-class ships and have sailed on Oasis & Allure multiple times. We did Harmony last December and enjoyed how the overall ship was by and large similar to the two sisters but had a few unique features that stood out from the other two. As others have mentioned, the Solarium doesn't have a pool, but it has expanded to include the area known as the SunDeck on Oasis/Allure. Also, the addition of wet/dry slides (with the dry slides altering the view of the ocean on the Boardwalk, if that concerns you). My favorite Harmony change from Oasis/Allure is the updated hallway and stateroom decor which is a bit more classy and refined IMO. The staterooms have also been reconfigured to allow much more storage space. There are a few more small venue changes (which have been mentioned here) and minor design changes which really had no effect on our experience. We are going back on Allure in a few short weeks but I don't feel like I am missing out by not being on Harmony. While I do happen to prefer the stateroom design on H, I am perfectly fine with Allure too!

  6. I have been checking for months for a discounted drink package on my 12/17/17 Allure sailing but there has been nothing! Even today's "sale" just shows a few discounts on excursions for my sailing but nothing else. Considering that there's only 25 days left until we leave, I guess it's time to just pony up the $$$ for the full price package?

  7. FWIW on Harmony last December everyone in our party was able to connect to royal-wifi and use iMessage to text each other and friends back home. Only one of us purchased the VOOM package, and only that person could access websites and use other social media apps. But for whatever reason, everyone was able to use iMessage on their phones while connected to the wifi network.

  8. On HOTS now and can confirm that iMessage texts ONLY between iPhones will work when connected to royal wifi. Only one of us has purchased the VOOM internet package and our phones are on airplane mode, we are only connected to royal wifi. You don't even need to log in to anything, just connect and text away to friends/family who have iPhones!! We were going to buy the messaging feature on the Royal IQ app but after hearing the bad reviews (and finding out that this trick works) we definitely won't be doing that!

  9. I had previously asked about the complimentary dining venues on the Oasis and was given a website to check out. It says that the American Icon Grill has a Brasserie 30 lunch - could someone explain that to me.

    Thank you

Everyone here is right--no DD on any Oasis-class ship. Brasserie 30 is a lunch in the MDR where you can be in and out in 30 minutes. There is a special Brasserie 30 menu that allows them to serve you that quickly. I believe there may be another "regular" lunch menu you can get if you aren't looking to eat that quickly. This was my experience a few years ago on Oasis but perhaps somebody who's sailed her more recently can chime in :)

  10. You're welcome, and please report back.

RC confirmed that there is the option for early/late seating but it is full so we've been put on the waitlist. They said traditional seatings should free up around April when TAs release bookings.

As for the DD showing up online, it is indeed another RC IT fail.

  11. Hello,

I recently booked a couple of staterooms on Harmony of the Seas and hope somebody can answer my question about the main dining room. Is it MTD only or will there also be early/late set seating times as on Oasis and Allure. The representative with whom I booked my vacation said Harmony will be MTD only but I thought I saw somewhere online that there are early/late options as well.

To make things more confusing, the Dinner Seating section on my Countdown to Cruise page says I am signed up for Dynamic Dining Choice, when I know that DD was cancelled on this class of ships a while ago...

  12. Voom internet on Oasis was great, seemed just as fast as my home network. Could do everything without delays and SO much better than what it used to be onboard. Just a side note--if you're trying to text people who do not have iMessage, there are many free reputable apps that will allow you to send text messages to non-iMessage users using the ship's wifi.

In fact, I highly recommend putting your phone on airplane mode the entire trip and just turning wifi on. This way you can use iMessage and other text-messaging apps without fear of getting extra charges from your carrier.

  13. I was on the phone with a C&A rep the other day who told me I could make a reservation for Wonderland on the Oasis (as a specialty restaurant, since DD isn't in place yet), but only on the ship, not online in my cruise planner. I haven't seen anyone on these boards talk about eating there on Oasis so I'm wondering how credible this info is? Anybody know anything about this?

  14. I've only sailed RC but was just curious at what else is out there...I happened to be on NCL's site today and saw they have the Freestyle Choice promotion where when you sail in a certain category of stateroom, you get your choice of an OBC, dinner in a specialty restaurant every night, free beverage packages, or free gratuities. These seem like really great promotions, does RC ever offer anything similar in their promos?

  15. I read a recent post that unlimited internet on the Oasis is now $140 for two devices. Is that for any 2 devices at the same time? My wife and I would each have an iPhone, and I would have a laptop, but we would only access the internet with 2 of the 3 devices at the same time. (I could not find the information on Royal Caribbean's website.)

Yes, when they advertise a Wifi plan for X number of devices, that's how many devices can access the Internet using your account at any given time. So you could both use your iPhones at the same time, but if you also tried to connect with your laptop, one of the iPhones would lose their Wifi connection.

  16. Hello,

I've always been curious about this...has anyone seen the forward SunDeck being used at all? Besides being a great place for sailaway and getting great views, has anyone ever seen anyone just laying out there? I know it's far away from everything but it seems like a really under-utilized space. Perhaps they'll do something else with this space on Harmony (maybe even make it a suite-exclusive place)?

  17. Hello,

We will be going on the Oasis departing from Florida in June, and I know that the minimum drinking age while on the ship is 21+. However, in all the ports we're going to, I know the age is 18 (in some cases below that). My question is regarding RCI-sponsored excursions....one of our excursions gives a complimentary drink included in the fee? I know we could probably get away with it, but in this case do we technically follow RCI's age rule or the country's rule?

    Many thanks!

  18. Just yesterday I changed our spring break cruise to Oasis to take advantage of all the new menu options of Dynamic Dining. I was told yesterday that our cruise would have Dynamic Dining. I gave up a really good rate on Independence to transfer over to Oasis. Everyone has their opinions, but I'm going to be really upset if Oasis doesn't have Dynamic Dining ready. Sounds kind of like a bait and switch to me. My reservation is still showing Dynamic Dining as of now.

My res still shows DD for our June 13th Oasis cruise. Just got off the phone with C&A and the representative confirmed that our sailing will not have DD. Obviously take it with a grain of salt since a timeframe hasn't been officially detailed online but it looks as if you wouldn't have DD if what she said was true.
