We always put a piece of bright colored duct tape on our suitcases (hot pink). Sure makes it easy to spot in the terminal. Also put bright colored ribbon on all the zipper pulls. Can spot it no matter which way the suitcase is turned plus it makes it easier to open the suitcase.

Put a copy of your itinerary in each suitcase and put your name on it with your phone numbers. Helpful to identify luggage and useful if your luggage gets separated from you.

Oh! I forgot to add that I always take a roll of the ribbon with me in case they get torn off. I use bright colored striped ribbons. Use it on my backpack too - for the ease of zipper pulling.

Luggage tags!!

 

Last cruise DH's color tag had come off during debarkation, and they put it with the rest of the unidentified bags. Because he didn't have a luggage tag on the bag, they didn't want to give it to him when he finally found it - they wanted proof it was his bag first (I thought that was odd since the color tag pick up is kind of an unmanned free for all anyway). We usually have copies of our passport id page in our luggage, but for some reason this bag didn't get it's copy before we left. They finally gave his bag to him when he realized he had torn off an old airline luggage tag with his name on it and stuffed it in the side pocket. All our bags have those plastic tags now just in case.

Forgot to renew my drivers license one year and when we went to board the plane on our way to the cruise ship and yes it was sailing the same day, the clerk says "Sir we can't use this as ID because it's expired". After a moment of panic I rememberd my passport which worked out just fine.

 

My wife, of course, tells me her and the kids would have left without me. :p

lol - but isn't that silly. You are still the same person you were before your DL expired.

Same thing happened with my son & getting on the gaming boat in Indiana. I finally got it thru their heads that just because it's expired doesn't change the fact that it's him. lol

Oh Great Keeper of the Spreadsheet ... Spreadsheet Swami ... I know you posted about the slot pull spreadsheet a good long time ago' date=' but I do hope you are still monitoring this site. - lol - I would like a copy too if possible.

The person that started our roll call board entered 2012 instead 2013. Can this be changed? If so, how & by who?

I think some fellow cruisers are not entering because they think it has already sailed - last year.

The list was great some good ideas there for me ..iv'e been buying stuff since January although not going till Sept:D i have the cases in the bedroom & just add stuff , i always do it even though we are campers with our own old camper van :confused:.. but it's our first cruise & i would rather take too many clothes etc & not use them as not taken something & wished i had ..wer'e not flying so it doesn't matter & going to use the bags that have the air sucked out for the stuff that doesn't crease ..but my little list for things i would never have thought of is growing all the time :)

what cruise are you taking.... ours is in Sept too. Baltic & TA . back to back.

I've been reading some of the pages with various tips on here. LOVED them. Most of them I was aware of. Would add insect repellent to the list. Have cruised several times in the past and have one coming in September. At one port we were the most popular people because we had the repellent. Everyone was our friend! lol
