I am sure the on board diamond and diamond plus discount is only available on the first day, so you have to take the package for the full cruise if you want the discount.
-
Prior to the cruise the package was $44 per day plus TIP this price was available to all cruisers ( past or new cruisers) at one time it stated it was $55 less 20% discount and but changed to just say $44 per day.
on board the ship diamond members were offered a 20% discount and diamond plus were offered 30% discount but the package was priced at $62 per day plus TIP.
If booked online before boarding the price was $51.92 including Tip and available to all.
Diamond member buying the package on board the net price after 20% discount was $58.53 per day including Tip ( $6.61 more pay day than booking online)
Diamond Plus member buying the package on board the net price after 30% discount was $51.21 per day including Tip ( saving $0.71 per day than booking online)
-
Do you recall what percent discount they were claiming with the $44 pre-cruise price?
the $44 price was available to all. No discount online for past cruisers
-
Sorry, I was not clear with my question.
When you saw the price of the drink package in the Cruise Planner on Royal's website, did they advertise 20% off, 30% off, etc.?
we had friends who never sailed with RCL before who booked and got the drink package for $44 per day plus tip
-
no discount mentioned on line
-
I believe the $44 deal was available to all sailing on the cruise
-
We sailed on the IOS transatlantic in April 2017.
We would normally book the drink package in advance but after reading on CC that D and D+ get discounts on board we decided to wait the book on board.. before the cruise everyone could book for $44 plus tip.
When we went on boards and tried to get the package first of all we had to ask for our discount and after 10 min he said OK you can get it. but the price was $62 less our 30% discount making it $43.40
NOT MUCH OF A SAVING FOR DIAMOND PLUS. 60 CENTS
RCL get a grip if you don't it sorted, I will stop buying the package and get my 3 x free drinks which I will take to my room for next day at the pool and then go to the diamond lounge and drink for free for 3 hours and then take 2 glasses of wine to the dining room .
GET A GRIP AND GIVE THE DIAMOND AND PLUS THE TRUE DISCOUNT. if not we wont buy the package

Good evening
I am due to go on a sailing soon and contacted to purchase beverage packages. I was informed that the price included 18% of gratuities.
I requested that this be removed and was informed that there was no option to remove the gratuities if purchasing over the phone.
I was wondering if anyone has had any recent experience in getting the gratuity removed from drinks packages either prior to sailing or whilst onboard?
Why would you want to remove it. don't you think the bar staff should get it?

I've been looking at the specialty dining packages for the two of us on our upcoming cruise on Anthem. I'm very confused about the specialty dining packages!
The BOGO package is for two nights (1st and 2nd nights only). If we went to Chops ($42/pp) and Jamies ($35/pp) I assume the bill would be $77 since it's BOGO - am I correct in my thinking? I understand RCL chooses the restaurants but I can change them the first day.
As for the 3 night package it says "from $85/pp" Does that mean the price will change depending on which restaurants you go to?
Are there ever any discounts offered on these packages?
I have just came of the Harmony and did the BOGO, The BOGO costs $30 per person which is good for a meal in any of the speciality restaurants on day 1 & 2. You will not be charged anymore when your on board so if you go to Wonderland the meal would have cost you $15 per person using the BOGO compared to $49 each if booked on board

I don't know why some of you think you have the right to give me a hard time I think I would have sailed more cruises than most of you all. Royal Caribbean C&A success has now caused a problem with over crowding Diamond lounges.
I have read many posts on CC about this
You can decide
Kick the D out of the D lounge or up the points needed to achieve D, D+ and P
-
Gotta agree. These type of opinionated posts are usually only self-serving.
Either that or they're just posted to stir up the masses.

I would move back a level. This is what I think there are to many D, D+ and P members and its only going to get worse
-
I think RCCL have to many D, D+ and P's, It time this should be revised maybe to the following
180 = D
360 = D+
999 = P
And I think should apply to all members (so if your D+ with 359 points you should be kicked back to D)

Bob can you get real champagne by the glass ie Moet ?
-
Is champagne still included in the "Ultimate Drink Package " ?

We had a full suite last October Allure transatlantic cruise and used the CK for breakfast and lunch several times but we only went on the last night to dinner, I wish we ate more often at night as it was great.
We will be using it more often on our Harmony transatlantic.
-
Will the suite lounge be added to all the ships from freedom class on?
When I was on the Allure last October the Costal Kitchen was only available to Full Suite guests and P Members at all times and JS guest for dinner only
-
I don't know why RCL will not sell you a bottle of sprits for your room it would help stop people smuggling booze on board
On princess you can order a 35cl bottle to your room through service. the cost is $18 for 35cl bottle of Absolute Vodka, you can also order 5 beers for the price of 4
-
I'm sure you did but I don't remember getting a single call on our last cruise on Regal (Mar 15).
We are on a 2nd leg of a back to back on the Caribbean Princess and we have had the call every day
-
Bad weather tomorrow?
It is back early as the ship requires a new propeller fitted the captain told us yesterday we would arrive at around 11pm as he was taking advantage of the good weather to get the work carried out and that we should not be alarmed with the divers in the water also the ship will not leave to11pm tonight to allow the work to get completed. We are on a back to back
-
If you are in suite you will get a call each day including your embankment day to ask if you would like a table booked and at what time what
-
We had some rough days on our transatlantic crossing and each dat at 12 noon Captain Jonny would play "ha rock and roll"

We book most of our cruises via a US travel agent never had any problems
We do still book via the UK if its a better deal but most of the time the US are better
