  1. I don't see an Ultimate Drink Package offered on Allure (we sail next week). I bought the Deluxe, but was a bit appalled to find that there are very few wines that fall in the $13 limit. I have never had that problem with beverage packages on other Royal ships. Logged in to see about maybe "upgrading", but I don't see any package offered that would go to say $15 or $16 drink limits?

  2. Did OP ever say both balcony and other door were open at the same time? I never saw that. The real truth is that the doors close automatically and are heavy, even on an inside cabin.

Seriously...took my 11 year old grandson on a cruise in April. He is VERY slight...more the size of an 8 or 9 year old. Not ONCE did he have any trouble with the door...of course we had a LONG talk about being considerate and not allowing the door to slam so maybe that was the difference. ;-)

  3. I just booked Embassy Suite for one night Nov, 3rd on yesterday. I had to speak to a reservationist in the hotel. If you call the published number, you end up with their central reservations somewhere in Fort Lauderdale area and they show it is sold out as well.

So I told the representative I had been trying since December 2016 and asked her did they book the entire hotel for people who are attending the boat show...she said "no" and transferred me directly to the hotel and I got the reservation. I was not asked to book a minimal of 3 nights.

I got my electronic confirmation within 15 minutes.

Well that is discouraging because I did call the hotel directly. Oh well, ended up booking something on airBNB instead,

  4. On our recent trip on Liberty of the Seas, my husband realized he left his spare rescue inhaler at home and only had around 10 puffs left in the one he had. We went to the medical center and the doctor saw him promptly and they had exactly what we needed. We were surprised at how reasonable the charges ended up being. They were amazing and really helped relieve our stress!

  5. So I solved the mystery. The hotels aren't "booked" they have a three night minimum. The lady at the Embassy Suites tried to tell me it has been that way for 20 years. Interesting because I have stayed there pre-cruise during the same time period for the last 5 years and never had a problem. I think it might be because I usually don't book until April or so...maybe they relax the minimum stay at some point.

  6. Interesting because I tried googling the dates and couldn't find anything for 2017.

We cruised out of Ft. Lauderdale this year last week of October and had no problem getting a room for the night before the cruise or the night the ship returned. Fell right in the middle of boat week. I was a little surprised to have such difficulty for next year.

  7. DH and I are Platinum. We are taking our daughter and grandson on Liberty in April. Both are first time cruisers. Their room and charges will be on our credit card. Will we be able to take them with us to check in through the Priority Check-in and Boarding?

  8. We will be flying into FLL and staying at one of the airport hotels pre-cruise, 2 adults and 3 kids. Will there be cabs for 5 readily available at FLL or will I need to reserve ahead of time? I think a cab company would be hesitant to take a reservation for 2 miles. I know the other other option is just to take 2 cabs.

The cabs line up outside baggage claim. You shouldn't have any trouble finding one that is a mini van or something to take you all.

  9. The pool in that pic is being used on their balcony not on the outside public areas. There's not exactly room for even a pool that size on the deck. Too many people walking around.

The poster comments that people would stop and comment on what a clever idea it was. Sounds to me like it was at the pool not on their balcony.

  10. Not judging anyone ... just curious. I think HAL's liquor pricing is very fair and not over-priced. So why would you smuggle liquor onto the ship, when purchasing it on-board would be so easy and meet HAL requirements? I truly am curious.

I agree with you. We always purchase a bottle of Bailey's to have in the room to add to our fancy coffee from Explorations. Considering it is a 1 litre bottle compared to the 750ml we would get at home it is very comparable in price in my opinion. I just can't imagine dealing with the hassle and chance of getting caught to save a few bucks, lol.
