Yes. Cold. Right from the in-cabin fridge.

At home I put the coffeemate  in a separate  mug and microwave for 30 seconds. Then froth  and pour over hot coffee

While we're on the subject of frothers, I usually heat/froth oatmilk at home. Does anyone know if NCL stocks oatmilk or if I could just buy it steamed from starbucks?

We put the coffeemate  in our checked in luggage.  We put it inside a zip locked bag in the middle of the suitcase 

You could probably do the same with oatmilk. 

Yup. Coffeemate is non-dairy. We purchase the sugar free version.

I froth in another cup then pour it ona cup of black coffee. That first gulp is delicious. 

You can get the frother on amazon.

No grounds in coffee. Makes about 6 ounces of coffee. If you're like me, you may need several cups,.

We were recently on the Breakaway  and asked our room attendant if he could bring us a coffee maker for our Stateroom  during our cruise. 

Yes!  It uses a European plug.  It is the type that makes individual cups of coffee.  It uses the pod type pouches. Not the k cup type. You can purchase pre-made packets at Wallyworld.

We're purchased  some round filters that could be folded up with the coffee inside

Bought some creamer. Brought along our frother. Then were bought some local NOLA coffee from French Truck

This worked great for us first thing every morning. 

We just boarded the Breakaway on Sunday.  

The old type Muster was a cluster..it was stuffy and hot.  No seating. Standing close together. Luckily it's  post covid or we could have caught something. And of course no masks..We were all ready for  munty.

How early can you get off the ship doing walk off with your bags?

The above photo was from last week. I got the shiny version.  The ring is supposed to fit around the base of the dome. 

My wife thought it looked like the contents of a toilet bowl. Not attractive at all. 

But...

I ate the whole thing. It was delicious 

We recently returned from our Mexican Riviera cruise. 

We witnessed two incidents where older people  tripped on  cobble stoned streets and sidewalks. . Both were seniors..

Mexico does not have the same standards for street's and sidewalks  as the USA.  

The unevenness of a cobblestone  street  speaks for itself. 

Sidewalks often have holes, big cracks, and height differences that make navigating for someone with mobility issues a problem. Other issues are curb height and sometimes there are no railings when a drop-off is more than 18 inches. 

This is not a complaint.  It's just a warning to those with mobility issues. Be careful out there.

Soutwest cancelled our flight into Long Beach tomorrow afternoon. Looks like we will be driving down from Northeren CA. We didn't get a notice from SW. We looked up our flight.

We hope others don't get cancelled.

My granddaughter and I want to sing 1 8 7 7 Kars For Kids  and get booed off the stage.

I am one of the few people who have not only fished from a cruise ship, but also caught something. 2003 on a Panama Canal crossing. My first cruise. We were on a balcony starboard side. First thing when we unpacked our suitcases, I expanded a telescoping fishing rod, threaded the line through the guides and attached a shiny fish lure. I leaned it against the balcony railing so the lure would  swing in the wind or rock with the boat. I did hear people gossip about seeing it from outside viewing areas up above.

It was going to be impossible to fish from the balcony due to the lifeboats below. So after searching the ship for a suitable place I found the perfect deck. The Prominade deck. I think it was deck 5. This is the deck you could walk around the entire ship.

The ship moves pretty fast. Too fast for trolling. And if you hooked something at that speed it would spool you very quickly. So I figured it would have to be at a port. I got my chance at Aruba. We were leaving later in the evening. I stealthily brought the  rod and reel downstairs. I didn't know if it was against the Ship's policy to fish from the ship, but didn't ask either. My sister said that I was going to get thrown in the ships jail (Brig?) Anyway, I used a lure called a Buzz Bomb. It's a jigging lure. This one was painted so that it glowed in the dark. They had some very bright 220volt flood lights that I dangled the lure in front of to get a good glow.

I dropped it down into the water from 20 feet above. I did have one couple who walked on by who asked "Are you doing what we think you are doing?",  Yes.

 I also had a ship crew member ask if i had caught anything. I worked the jig up and down and had a hit. I wasn't big. It looked to me like a small rockfish about 10 inches long and light orange in color. I unhooked and  dropped the fish back in the water  That was it for that trip. 

I also fished for a short time on the stern while anchored off of Cabo on another cruise.. No bites there. 

So to  answer you, yes,  it has been done. A telescoping rod fits nicely into your suitcase. Don't forget the reel and some artificial lures . Might be hard to secure bait, Ii would make the contents of your luggage stink. Fish from a cruise ship at your own risk. It's up to you to find out if it is legal or against ship policy.

We were talking about what we would like to have on the main dining room menus that currently is not offered.

We all agreed that toasted sourdough garlic bread should be on the Princess Favorites. I know they don't have it on the menu, but we would prefer it over the bread baskets. I am sure the chefs could doctor it up and make it Princess.

Next is mushroom risotto. We have requested this from the head waiter several times and it was always awesome. Just put it on the menu once a cruise.

Last is a Guamanian dish called Chicken Kelaguen . Graded fresh coconut, bbq chicken, jalapeno peppers, onion, soy sauce, and lemon juice. A unique dish and very tasty.

I figured I would reply here since this is on topic.

My wife and I  both tested positive  since we got home.  We wore our masks  pretty much the entire time and always on the bus. 

We did take our masks off when we were eating. The CDC says that is allowed, so I  am assuming  that you can't catch covid while you are eating according to them.

I don't even believe that. 

We had a wonderful time  on both the cruise  and the land portions.  Only about half the people wore masks. 

If I  had a choice to do it over again, would I  go?

HELL NO!!!!!!

I don't like being sick.

It was a meal plan like an excursion.. 

For sure a real deal. 

If you want add ons  like mushrooms and onions with you steak. No problem chicken or salmon halibut  with your  Ceasars salad too.

Halibut  and steak are in the $45+ range

Deserts are awesome.  Blueberry ice cream or cobbler are excellent.  

Our last full day in Alaska.  On a clear day...

Ww didn't go to any of the shows or did the band thing either.

The weather  has finally cleared up a bit. 

Going back a couple days at the College Fjord  we got real close to the Harvard Glacier.  Absolutely awesome.  Wish it wasn't raining.

So yesterday we disembarked from the Majestic. Very uneventful

we started our 7 day land portion on a 1 1/2 just ride to the OPP Princess Lodge  at Coolers Landing  Very nice 4plex  cabins. With wood stoves for those who enjoy the ambience. That was my main source of beat for 30 years. Now I just adjust the thermostat. 

We purchased the meal package for this part of the trip. It is a bargain. Meals are expensive.  Here at the Lodge the food has been excellent  

I would highly recommend the salmon chowder and the halibut.

We will spend the day here on the Kenai River watching the water and rafters walk by.

This is our last day on the ocean.  We will start the land portion tomorrow 

It's raing again as we head towards the College Fjord. We hope the visibility improves.  Overall, this is by far the coldest cruise we have been on. The only time day or night  when somebody has been around the pool area was in Vancouver.  Of course Princess can't control the weather, but this will be our last Alaska cruise. But, but. It's July! Midsummer. We came prepared. We used all 4 layers + raincoat, and still cold. 

The food  has been excellent. The crew do an outstanding job of making it an enjoyable vacation.  And that is what it was.

I hope to continue this post depending  on time and wifi availability. 

I've seen halibut on the menu several times. There is a tag on Alaska  items in the menu. Most are fish. 

Plenty of local fish on the menus at Port.
