Just got off Victory today and had a fantastic cruise! I was pleasantly surprised. The ship was clean and beautiful. The food was very good. It was better than the Princess Regal I was just on in April. Since it was the 4th of July the ship had a lot of teens and young adults. No big deal. I knew what I was getting myself into. I just stayed in the Serenity area. The buffet lines were long but you just plan around that. For breakfast instead of standing in the long lines go to the Express Breakfast which is located in the center. Fast and quick. They have the same items in the buffet lines sands the fruit and cheeses. We did the Chefs Table. OMG!!!! What an incredible experience. Well worth the money and then some. If you have any questions please ask away!! I also booked a day room at the Miami International Hotel which is located right in the terminal. Very convenient. Our flight is later this afternoon so this was perfect to relax and chill for a few hours. Ask away!
Happy to hear you were pleasantly surprised. I will be cruising with my 2 friends Sept 10th and one is a 1st time cruiser.
I have a question about drinks. Did you happen to notice if Carnival offered drink specials? None of us gals will drink enough to make the "Cheer Pkg" worth our money.
I was wondering because on my last cruise on RCCL they post in their daily planner which bar had a specialty price drink that evening (2 margaritas for $7 from 5-7pm etc.).
I never thought to even looked when we cruised Carnival's Dream in 2012.
Thanks for your review.

Does Carnival offer drink specials? Like a 2 for $10 from 5-7pm

We were reluctant to book a girls' cruise on an older ship but those are the only days that work for us. Well, now that I have read all of the posts about the dry dock I'm so excited :)

I loved our "Cove Balcony" on the Carnival "Dream".
The cove balconies are on Deck 2 and do not hang out of the ship, as balconies seem to do on higher decks, but instead are chiseled into it -- holes in the steel hull big enough for an open window about six feet wide. The cabin size is the same as any typical balcony but the balcony is a tad larger then an 8A or B.
I wish RCI had ship with these type of cabins.

I like to book an Oceanview cabin on the lowest possible deck. I love to stare out at the water, especially at night.
If you're not partial to cruise lines and don't mind Carnival. I highly recommend the "Cove Balcony Staterooms/Cabins" (cheapest balcony) on the "Dream", "Breeze" or "Magic". These balcony staterooms are 30' above the water. Awesome views.

Introduction
Hello everyone! I have gone back and forth on whether or not to do this review (mostly because of time constraints) but have decided to do so anyway. I will most likely only be able to review one day of the cruise at a time and there may be days between posts so please be patient with me, subscribe to this thread so you'll be notified of new posts and enjoy the ride! :D
I'm Alicia, 30, and live in Tampa, FL. My partner in life, Latanya, 32 and I sailed on the Dream together on 12/10/11 through 12/17/11. This sailing made my 14th or 15th sailing between CCL and RCL. Can you tell I love cruising? :-) I actually have a goal that I hope to reach which is 500 days at sea before I am no longer living. Hopefully I'll make it to see that 500th sea day! Latanya went on her first cruise with me when we first got together and the Dream made her 4th cruise. She's not as crazy about cruising as I am but she still quite enjoys them.
For me, cruising is a little about the ship, a little about the ports of call and a little of getting to know new people and discover new things. Together, all parts make the perfect recipe. I am a self proclaimed nitpicky individual and I tend to analyze everything and everyone despite my best efforts not to do so. But with that, you get honesty from me all the time and I don't really mince words. If I love something, I am vocal about it.. If I don't.. count on me to do the same. With that said, I am also very fair and point out the good with the bad and vice versa. I see things as a whole, not just as one facet.
Okay, next post will be Day 1 of our cruise. I am going to grab some lunch real quick while day 1's photos are uploading and will post shortly!
I love all of our pics, nice job. Not your typical photos, very visually appealing and interesting! :D
Can you please tell me how to import my pics into my thread.
Thanks

We're going to be in a Cove Balcony- what are people's thoughts on those?
We're excited for our cruise! Please keep the info coming!
We also booked the Cove Balcony. I don't think there was one bad review about this stateroom. Can't wait until 3/17/2012 :)

Also, courtesy of Lady Jag:
Try the Mongolian Wok early in the week and if possible, before or after the "peak" times.
Watch out for the lounge chairs on the Lanai during sail away - my mom's and our friend's pants got spotted with black soot from the chairs.
There are 2 hot tubs on deck 11 that are rarely used.
You can order room service from your TV. If you try to order a lunch item by phone and are denied because "it's breakfast hours only," order through the TV and you'll get anything on the menu. (I suspet you might get it faster than a phone order, too, since they can't "warn" you that it will take 45-60 minutes.)
DON'T miss "Dancing in the Streets" in the main show lounge.
I didn't think the Welcome Aboard laser show was that spectacular, but hubby said the Pink Floyd laser show was awesome. It was also less crowded, so you can watch it from a lounger on deck.
If they have a "Mardi Gras" themed deck party, stay alert! Those beads can be hard to see at night amidst the flashing big screen and fog machines, and they hurt like ____ if they hit you in the face!
Thank You! :)
