All great suggestions!  Thank you!  I feel so much better that we don't really need to pay for high priced excursions.

Also, last year when we were in Juneau there was vendors offering the same as the ships tours for whale watching and things for about half price and you could haggle a bit.

Thats the scary thing.  People Not reporting being sick.

I would have called Guest services or Medical center & reported their cabin#.

Don't know if it does any good, but I wouldn't want the probable covid coughers next door.

Oh we would never call guest services.  They could have been coughing for any number of reasons……we just noticed a lot of coughing…..

  3. We just got off the Ruby yesterday.  We masked the whole time. I think masking got less and less by others as the cruise went on.  I never heard of any Covid, but I swear our neighbors had it and were hiding out in their cabin because ice never heard coughing like that in my lifetime.

We were never able to walk around the whole promenade.

They had all three dining rooms open. Crown and Sabatini’s was flip flopping open nights.

Enjoy your cruise.  But, for me I would use the same amount of suitcases and fill them with both your clothing.  Unless you are driving to the port and doing carry-ons, there always is a chance of lost luggage.  And if one person lost a suitcase with all their stuff, they might have to wear a toga made from the bed sheet during their cruise.

We are driving!  But definitely something to think about if flying!

Room Steward, yes. But Room Service as well, unless they don't plan on eating or drinking. And of course, unlike a Room Steward, Room Service crew vary, so it wouldn't be just one person. While it sounds like hunkering down is the same as isolation, it isn't-There are a lot of protocols to follow when someone has Covid as opposed to something like a common cold. Yeah, it sucks, and no one wants their vacation ruined, but following procedure is the right thing to do.

Definitely, we cruise tomorrow.  My husband and I packed separately  this trip…just in case.

Because they're responsible citizens. To get sick in this day and age, not report it and spread COVID is reprehensible.

But what if that person just hunkers down in their cabin?  I suppose the issue would be the room steward….

We are cruising to Alaska round trip from San Francisco May 30th on the Ruby. Ships last stop is Victoria BC. Why have I not seen any information from Princess on this AriveCan. App or form. Do we have to do this for our cruise. We Have put in everything in the Medallion app except Health Status & we have a Green light & QR code

We got the info about two weeks before our cruise.  We cruise from San Fran on the 30th I’d this month and got the check off list of things to compete on the 18th.

As for the mini bar, it was the same as always with one exception.  We got Sam Adams in place of the Dos Equis that we've normally seen in the past.

Do you know if you have the drink package if you can drink from the mini bar without an additional charge?

Our funds on CC will be returned for refund.

And our FCC's will have a new expiration date of 1/10/23

Can you expand on this?  I thought that cruise with confidence switched everything to FCC?  It’s good to hear that if we panic it will go back on the credit card!

    I can't answer your question.

I can tell you that I load up a ton of books on my discontinued Kindle (Voyage) before I leave. I use OverDrive through my library so everything I am getting is free (loaner).

This way - when on the ship, I don't need to download anything. Just make sure the books download before you leave for the ship.

This is what I do and as soon as I download the books I put my kindle in Airplane mode so that when the library loan is over they don’t disappear!

As a grandparent I have to respectfully disagree. Even though your dtr stated your granddaughter would be under your supervision PSD should have confirmed that.

Why?  Their rooms were next door, they were traveling together.  Why would they have to confirm anything?

I get that part. I actually have to take a Covid test every day for work due to my workplace rules (regardless of vaccination status) , so that does not bother me in the slightest.

My question was about the testing kits and the televisits, if you can buy one box and it is good for multiple people, or if each person must purchase their own test kit in order to have the televisit.

The Canadian rules are still a mess, so I think it will be a nice quiet ship evening on the balcony.

We bought one kit and it has two tests to use for two different  people.

4 of my family just finished a cruise. 1 adult tested positive and was sent to quarantine. The 3 others were negative but had to stay in their room until disembarkment. All 4 took a taxi to their car and returned home. Positive one went to quarantine in basement 14 days, kids no school for 14 days, wife back to work the next day at a hospital with daily testing.  I think it was all very fair. Only the one tested positive so far.

14 day quarantines?  What country do you live in?
