I felt the same as the OP when my husband told us we were going on (our first) Alaskan cruise way back in 2011. Yes, it's expensive. Yes, it's one million percent worth it. So much so that we went again in 2018, and frankly I'd go again in a heartbeat. The excursions and experiences there are unlike anywhere else - my advice to people is save up and spend ALL that you can afford on the excursions. Caribbean you can do on the cheap and it's great, but Alaska I would not scrimp on. You won't regret it.

Nope, we don't use a TA. Frankly I assumed that it was included for all full suites on all ships, so I didn't question it. If we hadn't gotten it I would have asked someone about it.

We were on Enchantment in October in a GS and got internet included as part of the suite.

log into the MGM site. You should be able to get $125 in onboard credit. You don't get Diamond status or benefits. https://www.mgmresorts.com/en/mgm-rewards/preferred-partners/royal-caribbean-and-celebrity-cruises.html
ETA, all the rules are listed on that link, you need to call a number that is on there and add it either when you book the sailing or looks like within a certain time frame.
You actually don't get the onboard credit unless you are booking a cruise with an MGM offer. You used to be able to get the credit on any Royal cruise, but now it's only when it's a cruise booked with an MGM offer. But definitely call the number and ask what offers or perks you may have.

I had the same question - so I pre-booked for our upcoming cruise since it was cheaper but I still don't know what the casino discount is for Prime.

We have participated in numerous ones, and the organizer always keeps their card in, understanding that they get the points but also get the tax ramifications in the event of a handpay. And frankly, unless you are doing the high roller version, no one is really getting that many points anyway. As long as a the rules are laid out beforehand, people can join or not....their choice.

I also use Allianz, and typically get the "Cancel for any reason" coverage just to be on the safe side. Also, my husband is law enforcement and occasionally subpoenas to testify will pop up at inopportune times (which is a covered reason, byt the way). Also, remember a ton of other stuff is covered, including missing ports and lost luggage. Our most recent cruise in December had a port cancelled well before we sailed, and insurance still paid out $1250 for missing the port. So - always check your coverage!

Only one time I've had a problem seeing my cruise credits applied. After a few weeks I called C&A and asked why they hadn't been added and was told because it was a "comped cruise" !! No, sorry it was not...they checked my booking and corrected the mistake. Forty + RCI cruises and have never had a "comped cruise"
Even if it was a comped cruise, you should still get the points. We get comped cruises from the casino from time to time and have always gotten the points.

Thank you all for your responses they are very helpful. One last question, is the price a one-time charge or per person?
It's one charge - not per person.

Hi all - new to Royal. we just booked a last minute cruise on EoS in February to join a larger family group…hadn’t planned on going but changed our mind. We got the last cabin available - an inside.
Even though the sailing is no longer available to book on the website I just got a Royal Up email to bid on a number of different cabin classes. Is this something they do in case there are last minute cancellations or is there a chance some upgrades could be available? I dread the inside cabin but don’t want to have false hope.
thanks!!
Are you on the Feb 3 cruise by any chance? If so, we are as well. I also bid on an upgrade because...you never know. 🙂

No idea. But you definitely won't get it if you DON'T ask lol. I always ask - worst they can do is say no.

We have always had to wait before rooms are ready on any cruise line we have been on. They need time to turn the rooms over from the departing guests.

We had one booked in Bermuda for our upcoming cruise and it was cancelled a month out, which surprised me. But if it's an insurance thing then I guess maybe it makes sense. This is on Enchantment.

I received mine back within 5 weeks of submission, without expedited processing. But I htought it was interesting that my old passport didn't come back right away. I know they send it separate but I assumed a couple days later. I received the old one back 2 weeks later! So who knows how it all works.

If you got a free cruise from the casino, it is from past gambling. My experience has been that there is no requirement to gamble on the complimentary cruise, but you are correct that you may not get such offers in the future, either, if you don't.

For what it's worth, I've never seen them priced that high. I've seen from $1299 - $1799; I booked one last October for $1699. Over $3k seems excessive. Maybe it's a mistake?

Still hoping Bermuda makes a change re:testing in the next couple months.... 🙂

Wow, that's impressive! I sent mine in at the end of June, and received it about 2 weeks ago - about a 5 week turnaround. Way better than the 8-11 weeks they promised!
-
Additional update: Since upgrading, the additional shorex discounts are now availaable in my online account, so when I go to book an excursion for the two of us, $50 comes off each one.

hmmm, you should be getting a drink card. I also book thru using my Caesars player's card, and always get a drink card. It's the low level card, but I do get it. I thought it was standard. Definitionally if you're using the comp certificate that Caesar's gives out.
Hm - I will ask this time around. I have never gotten one on NCL, but Royal does give me drinks in the casino. Definitely worth asking. Thanks!

Good question. I actually have one that is fully paid but have a few offers with trade in value. I wonder if I can get the trade in value applied to my current cruise even though it is fully paid.....
