  1. We get to come down a day early! :) My husband and I will be flying down a day before our daughter and her friend.

We were going to stay at the hyatt airport, but I am wondering now if we should stay someplace else, since the 2 of us will get to spend a full day in FLL.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. This is for July 17th.

    Should we try priceline?

  2. Thank you so much for all the input.
I guess I was thinking that we could spend some time at FLL at the beach. And then go to Miami....I am thinking the girls will want to see some of south beach I know the want to go by the dash store, so maybe just some shopping.
I was thinking the beach at FLL might be better?
Having never been to this area, I really appreciate all your help.
We also don't fly out until 5:45 the day we get back, so we will have a little time then also.

    Thank you!:)
  3. We get in to FLL at 11:30 pm. We have 2 nights and then cruise out of Miami. I was thinking of spending the first night in FLL and then heading down to Miami
I have found the Hyatt Pier 66 for $99.00. The Hyatt place FLL airpot for $67.00 (they have a shuttle from the airport) or the Courtyard FLL beach for $119.00 (it includes breakfast for 2). There are 4 of us myself, dh and dd 18 and her friend. Would you recommend any of these hotels?

    Thank you!
  4. We are flying into FLL on July 18th. We cruise out of Miami July 20th. We are taking our 18 year old daughter and her friend. It was suggested that we stay in FLL area. I am so confused trying to figure out what to do. Should we rent a car. Which hotel should we stay at. We like to hang out at the pool and the beach and of course do some shoping. Last year we cruised out of Tampa and spent a day at Clearwater beach and loved it! We also stayed at the Marriott channel side ..... It was perfect.

For some reason the more I read about the FLL area the more confused I get.

I would love any and all suggestions.

    Thank you!:)

  5. When we got back to the port area' date=' we had about an hour and 15 minutes before "last tender." We considered going back to the ship right away, but since this was our last port, I wanted to enjoy every last minute of our time there. We decided to walk across the street and check out Margaritaville, and I'm so glad we did! I have been to Margaritaville in Myrtle Beach, SC, a time or two and wasn't very impressed either time...it was just okay. My kids and I love Jimmy Buffett (who doesn't?), so we headed over. I had no idea that they had a curvy slide and pool IN their restaurant (on the roof)!!!! Very cool!!

We were directed to their "cabana" right by the pool where we grown ups could sit and eat while the kids played in the pool

DH and I really enjoyed our time together sharing a snack (coconut shrimp and calamari.....yum!!!! I had a margarita; DH had a local beer). Another heavenly hour.

We loved Margaritaville too!!!!! In fact that is me in the picture and my DD in the pool
