What is on deck 4 of NCL Getaway, it doesn’t show on deck plans. Would there be anything that would effect cabins on deck 5 ?

Deck 4 is a crew area and deck 4 forward is where you get off and on the ship at all your ports.

I'm currently sailing on Getaway and will be departing the ship in about an hour for Taino Bay.

  2. I sent my bag in yesterday on day 5 of our 10 day sailing and it was definitely larger than the one we received last year. It fit a lot of rolled up clothes.

Granted, it was mostly socks, underwear, t-shirts and bathing suits but we were pleased.

Told it could take 2 days to be returned.

We will be on the Getaway in Europe next month.   We have a few early morning excursions and are considering ordering breakfast from room service in order to avoid crowds in the buffet on the mornings of port days.   We would be ordering just cereal, milk, fruit, coffee - no eggs or other hot items.

Does NCL still use the old-fashioned door tags to hang out the night before with our order and chosen time?   If not, can we call the night before with our order and to specify a delivery time?   If we have to call in the morning, how much time should we allow?  We are booked on NCL excursions with no flexibility in meeting time.  In general, is room service dependable?   We are in a standard balcony cabin without any special services or amenities.

As an alternative, what is the buffet like for breakfast on early port days?  Is it a madhouse, or can we plan on getting in and out fairly quickly?

    Thank you for any insight.

I will be using my door tag Tuesday night for an early morning excursion in Tortola. I am currently having a blast on Getaway!

  4. We leave tomorrow on NCL Getaway, with a stop in Old San Juan next week.

We'll only be there from 7am until 3pm and plan on just walking around.

My daughter wants to stop at Barrachina, and we will, but we're also looking for a bar that could be fun around lunchtime.

I've heard that the pina colada's are pre-made at Barrachina, so we're looking for a better one. Lol!!

Being in close proximity to Barrachina would be a plus.

    Any suggestions?

    TIA

We did laundry (first time) on Pr1ma in November sometime around midway through the cruise when the offer appeared. Good deal for us (then) Gold members as the price was cut in half.

My brain is a little fried getting ready to leave in 2 days on Getaway so please bare with me. Lol!

We've done laundry on our last 2 sailings for free because we were in a CBS just to check it out really. This sailing is 10 days and we're definitely going to do some mid cruise.

We are Gold too (achieving platinum on this sailing), so is the half off of the $35 or is $35 the price?

We have obc, so it doesn't matter much, but I'm curious.

    TIA

    Hi

Was wondering if you can order food while sitting at the bar at the Local. We love to get pretzel bites or nachos while having a drink at the bar.

    Thanks

    Absolutely!

    Did it this past July.

We've done the Rising Son catamaran snorkeling cruise and the Rising Son sunset cruise.  We enjoyed them both, and the crew was outstanding.

Did the rising son sunset cruise this past July and had a great time!

In fact, a couple got engaged on our sailing!

Any April updates on the cookie situation?

    😁

I don't care about the cookies too much, but I've alerted my wife and daughter to this major issue and we'll check it out in 7 days when we board Getaway. Lol 😂

    It's not that I don't like a good cookie. I do!

But I'll be happy to choose whatever is available to me and enjoy it!

Don't forget to pre-order your hash browns and cookies....

Somebody on here is liable to kill me for this, but I don't get the hash brown love. I've had them and they're pretty good, but I also like the country potatoes if they're well done.

    Now, if they mess with my 7 layer chocolate cake at Cagney's (and maybe room service), blows will be thrown! Lol 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

    14 days till Getaway!

My 2020 Honda Accord - in a stunning radiant red - gets a LOT of compliments. When the sun hits it, it just glows. Absolutely love Honda.

I just leased my 6th Honda Accord in a row. A 2024 Sport Hybrid.

I really wanted the red with black leather but inventory is still awful where I live, so I settled on the white.

The black 19" wheels and spoiler look real good.

I will hopefully enjoy my sailing on Getaway in 15 days as much as I've enjoyed every one of my Hondas. Lol 😂

Was on Getaway last week and the trio there was fantastic.  One of the girls specifically said that tips are appreciated but not required.  It does seem pretty obvious that if someone tipped more ($10 or $20) that the song would get played.  My son tipped $5 and still got his song played.  I don’t think they were obnoxious about it, but sometimes the girl would say things like “someone has tipped $20 to hear XYZ”

Sounds like your trio maybe wasn’t great.  I’d suggest giving Howl a second chance (on another ship or on land).  Also, I think they take breaks to either 1) rest their voice, 2) use the toilet, or almost certainly 3) learn some of the songs that have been requested.

Loved Howl on Escape and glad to hear that you enjoyed it on Getaway.

We'll be on Getaway in 16 days, so maybe it'll be the same trio.

    Following up on this question.

We went to Divi Little Bay.  We took a taxi from Philipsburg (water taxi to Philipsburg first for some quick shopping) $5pp, about a 10 minute ride.

Beach was very nice, definitely not at all crowded.  $15 for two loungers and an umbrella.  Easy access to their beach side bar and grille.  Clean restrooms available.  My wife walked around the resort and said it was very nice.  We had lunch at the grille, we both had burgers which actually were pretty good (better than the ones we were getting on ship, but that's another story). Picture of menu included.

The pictures from the beach are later in the afternoon, but, even mid day, the beach wasn't much more crowded than that.

    This is great info! Thanks!

My wife, daughter and I are sailing Getaway in 18 days and want something simple for our stop in St. Maarten.

We arrive at 12:30PM and were just going to walk to Philipsburg (we'll need the exercise after a few days of gorging ourselves onboard), shop a little and find a spot to park ourselves on the beach.

    Your idea is better!

We can still take our walk over there and then taxi to Divi Little Bay.

Do you have any other tips for this DIY excursion?

    TIA

  13. This past July we sailed Joy with the standard unlimited wifi and my wife did a job interview from our cabin on zoom.

It worked for the entirety of the 20 minute interview.

We also used factime a few times without issue.

    ymmv
