  1. Great advice for picking up snacks above.  If room in your luggage,  you could also pack some of your favourite snacks, dried biscuits, pototo chips, I think you may call them crisps? Packets of peanuts, cashews etc Pkt dried fruit to add to cheese plate . Have a wonderful, sailaway party.

Oh how I love this site.........thanks for the question Jinja0707.  Reminded me that I would have to make arrangements for my car as well.  I think we are both on the same cruise "Circle Indian Ocean".  I've previously been on a 35 day cruise where I did not bother about my car, but the 7 weeks I'll be away for this time is so much longer.  Will look you up at the Meet and Mingle........Jan

Yes Jan, we are on the same cruise. Glad my question has helped you and no doubt others down the track.  Look forward to meeting you.

Thanks so much everyone  for all the very helpful replies 👏👏.  Glad I  still have time to check it out properly with my Mazda mechanic when it goes in for its next service, so I dont do the wrong thing 😂😂.  Cheers Robyn

  5. Since I started this post, I thought I would update everyone on claiming my benefits. Sailing now 1 week from today. Expressed post and registered my docs last Monday and was received by Princess last Wednesday 17th Jan. Still was not applied today :loudcry::loudcry:. So contacted Customer Solutions again and after emailing, yes emailing them :D:D:D, magically they were honoured and applied within 10 mts. I even sent through a request for my baby 5 nighter in March, at the same time as I could not bare having to go through the endless dramas, I have had to endure until Princess sort out the process. Would appreciate if someone who gets through on the fax number lets us know how long before their benefits were applied. Good luck everyone.

Emailed my 29th Jan Cruise, Shareholder benefit request on 2nd and 11th Jan. Followed up with phone call to Captains Circle 12th asking if emails had been received. They supposedly sent the Benefits section an email on my behalf, asking what the delay was.

I phoned again this morning to find out what the delay was and was told Princess Australia is no longer accepting requests via email, due to legal reasons. All requests for the benefit must now be faxed or posted in. Checked the number 3 times, tried faxing it numerous times and it would not go through, my local post office tried twice for me and as a last resort sent all details to my Travel Agent who couldn't get through either. Number works fine for the Sydney office staff but does not go through from Melbourne.

A frustrating, time consuming waste of many hours today because Princess has changed the rules and did not have the courtesy to tell me or properly inform all staff of the new rule change that came into effect in Jan 18. Deadline for OBC is 2 weeks prior to sailing, so my Express post will certainly miss that deadline but after speaking to Customer Solutions they have made a note on my booking, as is not my fault and will hopefully be applied later in the week once they get the paper work.

So if you have any cruises coming up, best to post your details through to Princess Cruises, Shareholder Benefits, PO box 1429 Chatswood, 2057 at least a month in advance. The fax number is supposed to be 02 83264550, hope it is fixed soon or it actually works for you.

  6. Such a mess, with the fax number 😭😭😭😭 I tried the 61code many times yesterday and all other combos 02, 2 etc I could think of, to utter failure. Thanks for posting the official details here and on the FB page, good to get the info out to everyone so they have time to snail mail or hope the fax actually works for them😎😎😎

Anyone trying to use the fax number in the email wouldn't have much luck either. It includes an incorrect country code. Australia is 61 not 621.
  7. Oh that is such a shame for you 😢😢 but at least they sent you an email with the details, and have plenty of time to snail mail 😢😢😢. The fax number is not exactly the same as what they gave me, grrrrrrrr!! so I am not at all surprised I, PO and TA had so much trouble yesterday, 🤔🤔🤔. Thanks heaps for letting us all know and the supposedly correct fax number.

Unfortunately Princess have reverted to the dark ages!

    I just received this email:

    "Good morning,

If you haveany further concerns, please dial the contact numbers below."

Guess I'll have to post it in. My laptop doesn't appear to have a port for phone connections.

  8. So jealous, lol. Sent my first request on 2nd Jan which probably got lost in cyber space, and by the 11th wouldnt take it for me by email. No consistensty in what they do and when and it so would help to put the info on the Princess Aussie web site.

I must have got in before the change. I sent my request to defencebenefits@princess.com.au on the 4th of this month and got a reply saying all done etc on the 5th. No mention of any changes to the way to send it .

This for my March cruise to Tassie on Diamond.

Sent from my iPad using Forums

  9. Yes, I am sure the 2 are linked as I used to use that email address ages ago, but was told it was changed. Staff probably got sick of forwarding them, lol. Good luck sending yours through and appreciate you letting us know. My cruise in March will see me post my request in, could not go through the hassles I went through today 😂😂😂

The last time I sent one in I sent it to defencebenefits@princesscruises.com.au, but I suspect the two are linked. I have to send ours in sometime soon so I might try it by email first, just in case. I have plenty of time, the cruise isn't until March. I'll keep you posted.

  11. I just disembarked the Sun Princess this morning. Yes sadly the pizza restuarant is gone but you can still order the delicous pizzas via room service for the nominal charge of $3. So happy when I saw that still in the room service menu. I did this twice and once took one up on deck to enjoy with friends. They also have room service, delicious lasagna fo no charge.

  12. ROFLMAO. no, no no. But I wish, wish, wish. Did get the head chef in the Brittania restuarant to make me some delicious Banana Cream pies, for my table of 8, which I adore on the Princess ships. So ask and you may be just shock the table and those around you if something like that came out. :)

Bet no little boys and Tom sauce to dip in neither;).

Surely they had fairy bread but:p.

  13. Hi mrs 2, cruised on QV back in March, Syd to Hong Kong, so can confirm absolutely no sasuage rolls served at arvo tea. Just the usaul, scones, little sangers and biscuits.

Something that amazed me and mentioning as havent seen it posted elesewhere, was being able to buy 1 little bottles of spirits for enjoying in the cabin at duty free rates. Even the JW was in plastic bottes which made it so easy and safe to wrap in bit of extra padding and pack in main suitcase if you, which I do, drink that. Wine is very expensive, was around $12 for a 250 ml glass. Grr, didnt drink much wine on board. But enjoyed many scotch and sodas in the cabin :)

.QUOTE=mrs and mrs;50246176]Thank-you love your style, that also is our gig,top deck spa,and bubbles.

Golden princess is going to be one hell of an eye opener for us.:):)

High Tea sounds a must though,do they serve sausage rolls.

  14. I do so enjoy reading all your posts, mrs 1 or mrs 2, not sure who does all the writing, lol (sure we will find out sooner than later ) , but keep em up. Love that you say it as you see it. Will definately join you girls for a glass or 2 of something, if we are ever fortunate enough to cruise on the same ship.

  15. Agree. F301 is right beside a door that bangs every time someone including staff uses it, unless held to close softly. Most people forget and it then bangs. It is slightly smaller as well. I stayed in the cabin next door for a b2b 31 days and sometimes heard the slamming. Have booked F311 down the other end for my November cruise, though to be away from the noisy end. The door down this end does not slam. These WS cabins are fabulous and all extra suite perks are so nice.

Choose a higher number stateroom. Avoid F301. Window Suites are great prices compared to a Mini-Suite (not to be confused with a suite at all).
  16. Depending on the ship and itinerary I will book a specific cabin and other times I just select a guarantee balcony category I would be happy with, if I dont get upgraded. You just never know what the upgrade fairy will do. In saying that, i booked a BE balcony guarantee on the Pacific Princess a couple of weeks ago on the Sydney to Hong Kong world cruise sector, at a last minute bargain rate. Today, I was assigned my cabin, fantastic upgrade to a Mini Suite. So, yes the upgrade fairy is still around and I sure had a "win" at no extra cost.

QUOTE=Wyuna1;48798844]Do many fellow cruisers take a punt on a guaranteed Catagory cabin or prefer to know where their cabin will be. Are there any good tales of a " win" in cabin allocations.
