From listening to others on here they tend to check the bags of the under age a little closer. I hav never had a problem. I always take about 6 bottles. Even if they spot it the will give it back at the end even if they don't it was worth a try. in 2004 I took a soft cooler full of beer through the walk in x ray and no one said a word. I put a couple bottles of water on top.

They will not allow you to carry on wine anymore. I brought a bottle for each night in my checked luggage. They charge $12 a bottle to open it and serve it to you. I told our waiter he could charge me every night or I would tip him the money at the end. So I tipped $80. at the end.

"BUT...taking booze into a public area onboard the ship is a big NO-NO...it can have serious consequences"
We will be on our 1st cruise shortly and I was wondering how does drinking your own beer at the pool works or anywhere else away from the cabin ? How is that done without breaking the rules and looking tacky? In a way it seems from the above post you can get in trouble for that?
Can you perhaps pour your drink into a bigger carry around mug and head to the pool ? I have no idea what's the etiquette in this regard or how the smugglers do it. Please dont flame me for asking this. I am just curious and its better to know the "how to" and the "don'ts" before we leave.
Thank you kindly.
I took a case of beer in my soft cooler put it right through the x ray machine. I have a small soft cooler looks like a bag. I put ice in it take it to the pool and open it pop the top of my beer and pull it out and drink it. I don't make it obvious. But it dosen't look tacky at all. I took bud light and it was served on the ship. I even put it back in the bag on ice to keep it cold. No one knows if I bought it on the ship. If you have a drink you can make it in your room or take it in a can of pop. I don't mind spending $8.00 for a drink but I don't think it hurts to make a few of your own.

I have put booze in my checked luggage. I bubble wrap it and double seal a meal it. The only thing is it weighs a lot so if it is possible buy it when you land and take the bubble wrap and plastic bags. The airlines only allow 50lbs and that goes fast. I have never had a problem sneaking it in my luggage. If they catch you oh well. I haven't heard to many people with that story. I have a owners suite on Liberty in july and am throwing a party so I hope to take alot of the booze.

My daughter had a cold and needed lung treatments it ran $400.00 You have to pay cash and submit it to your personal insurance first, if or what they don't pay you can submit to the travel insurance.
