  1. Obviously if there is something worth sampling, he would like to do so. But he has his brands, JWR or JW Black don't cut it for him. He prefers Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Oben, Macallan- and preferably aged 20+ years. But assuming they obviously won't have exactly what he drinks at home, I'm looking for something comparable

  2. I'll search for odd shaped cabins for more space, good idea!

Our first cruise together will be a short one so he can see if he likes it. Unfortunately not cruising is not an option, he better like it 😂 But that's also why I want to try and get him a cabin he will be ok with, while also not spending a fortune, haha.

  3. I'm going on a cruise with my boyfriend who is a first time cruiser. I've been many times and stayed in many cabin types and personally like inside cabins. HOWEVER, my boyfriend is very claustrophobic. I can't relate.

So, to others who are also claustrophobic, what cabin do you usually go with? An inside is probably out. But is a window enough? Or do you need a balcony?

  4. Soon I sort of answered my own question by using satellite images on google maps. If anyone else ever wants to know this info here it is!

There are some bars, two I found: Bull Frogs and Mr. Sol. Mr. Sol seems to be a bar set amongst the shops. Bull Frogs seems to right off the gates to the ships. There is a pool, tiki bar feel, and also a 'wading' type pool! Oh, and 3 coronas for $5!

  5. My question isn't on the port itself but the actual pier. When you get off the ship, what do you see? I've heard there are some shops. My question (and the most important one) is there a BAR???

Also, if you are doing an excursion through the cruise line (I'm talking Carnival) do they pick you up near where the ship docks or the end of the miles long pier?

ANY info and any details would be greatly appreciated as I'm trying to get a picture of this place to know what to expect!

  6. I'm 20 years old and 22 cruises down. I have sailed extensively on RCCL, Disney and Carnival. So take it from a kid who grew up at sea! Carnival has the best children program (all ages) hands down. My earliest memory ever was on Carnival as well as some of my best. The staff Carnival employees for their kids programs are phenomenal!

  7. For me it's the product, like you said. Carnival is a line where we can go with the flow, do what we like when we like, with NO PLANNING. So many lines are turning to planning meals or show times, and that isn't what a cruise is to me.

I'm young (20) so I'm not looking at celebrity or holland as options, but I have been in Disney and RCCL. I've yet to try Norwegian, and will one day.

  8. They can do everything but Serenity, drink and the 'kids' clubs. This is coming from a 20 year old. But there's the Casino! But... if she hangs around an area where the up to 17( O2 ) club is going to be she can just sort of make friends and fit in. Chances are if there are less children on the cruise the kids will group up and not be at the club. I've found the more kids onboard the more the club is actually utilized as a place to 'hang out'.
