  1. Concerning the promotions.

I will be on a B2B2B in October. I was wondering if there was any way that the casino would care if I had leftover promotional chips to use, say, on the second trip? Also, can I just hold on to regular chips from the previous cruise to use on the next cruise?

Why I would hold on to regular chips, I don't know.  But interesting question about the promotional ones.

  2. I can't find anything specific about my question.

Our cruises have a spot where you can pre buy casino chips. I guess you pay $50 and get $55 in promotional chips.

It says something that you have to "play through" those chips. What does that mean? Could it be that once put in play, let's say craps, on the Pass Line, you have to use that chip until you lose it? When they pay off on a bet that has a promo chip on it, do they pay off in real chips?

When you "color up" to leave the table, do they give you real chips?

I have left alot of chips on these ships but I haven't used these promos before. With all the OBC given out, it might be a good way to funnel it through the system.

  3. We will be in Antigua and will be using Celebrity's Beach Express excursion. Decided with all that is still going on, that is the better idea, this year.

Question is, what about the snorkeling in Antigua. Our original excursion was a day pass through Celebrity, but that was cancelled for some reason. That location said the snorkeling was very good and I was just wondering if that was true throughout the island.

    Thanks

  4. We have a pretty good OBC for a trip that is 16 months away. But since Celebrity has already started posting them with sale prices, one might figure to get them now and see what happens. But, the credit card was debited instead of the OBC. Has anyone seen this and does anyone have any inside info as to the reason why? Is it that it is so far out?

    Thanks

  5. As we prepare for our trip, we found our plastic luggage tag holders and the plastic loop that you secure the holder to the luggage handle has broken.  They are obviously old since we certainly have used them in the last 3 years.

Does any of you have a recommendation for which ones hold up well? I looked on Amazon and of course they have but seems too cheap.

    Thanks.

  6. Another question about 7 Mile Beach.  I just hope our itinerary does not change and we are allowed in to port. We will be there May 8 on Celebrity Equinox. Probably at least 1800 pax I hear.

We are taking one of the ship excursions and the description says that a drop off at 7 mile beach can be done.  Question is: How far from port is it? We are older and walking is a bit slow for us.  Would that be worthwhile?

    Thanks!

  7. We have been cruising often. But as things change, so does health.

So, now I find myself with a Pacemaker and I feel pretty good.  BUT, going through security could be interesting.

We are not flying, only cruising our of Ft. Lauderdale. Has anyone else been there with a pacemaker and do I have to be concerned about the screening equipment. The doc said to ask NOT to be wanded but a hand pat down would be better. I just wonder if I should go to the screener and hand them my card that says I have a pacer or go through and see I set off the alarm.

    Thanks.

  8. We were on Silhouette 2 years ago on the Westbound TA.  We had an overnight stop in Bermuda and in the morning we saw the head chef speaking with some local fishing people on the quay.  The fresh fish was on the lunch buffet!  It was outstanding and knowing that is was caught that morning.  Wonderful  experience.

  9. Hello. We decided to use Royal Caribbean's shore excursion for our Falmouth stop.  Price is OK but we have a question.

The resort's website mentions a dress code for dining, even the lunch buffet.  Of course, this is going to be just  day pass but it is all-inclusive.  Our question is where is the lunch that is available?  Is it separate from the resort guests who are staying at the property.  I completely understand that they don't want bikinis and men in Speedos.  But is a women's wrap enough and for men, a bathing suit that is very close to actual shorts?

Just want to know what to bring with us off the ship.

    Thanks

  10. We have been to Cozumel a few times.  I have booked the Fury Catamaran through Royal Caribbean.  I have seen that thing come back to the pier many times and I have always said that everyone seems to be having such a good time.

My wife is a non-swimmer.  She is good in shallow water (Sting Ray City in the Caymans was no problem).  Certainly I am not concerned with any snorkeling for her but does anyone have a good idea as to whether or not she will be able to get from the boat to the beach break?  If she has to stay onboard I assume this would not be a problem.

    Thanks

  11. Cindy,

That Trastevere food tour sounds great. It is not really twilight though but IS it as good as it sounds?

The "samples"? Are they just tastes or it is adequate for a real eater?

I am looking to the Porchetta!

    Thanks

  12. Hi, Campolady.

Crazy question. When we were last in Malaga, we were on a foodie tour and we went to a few different places. During our walk, we came across what we thought was a "comic book" store. I know it was after we left the market and BEFORE we ended up walking down toward the water.

Lots of little shops along the way.

Any idea where this might have been? (I know it is a long shot!)

  13. Thanks for all that info. I may have confused the AC agent because I mentioned that the first leg is Air Canada Rouge and the second leg is regular Air Canada. I know they are actually both Air Canada. Not sure what the real difference is. But I assumed that they would tag my bags thru to Rome and do the appropriate transfer at the airport. You never know. Our most recent trip we had a lost bag NON STOP to London. The bag was left behind in Miami! Go figure. Got it the next day.

We were able to score Premium Economy on both legs. Air Rouge actually calls it Business. And therefore we have 2 checked bags each for the whole flight. This is good and an additional savings because we are on Celebrity Reflection from Rome to Fort Lauderdale. $439 each and with that extra bag free, we are golden! ChoiceAir has been excellent our last 5 cruises.

With a 3 1/2 hr layover, I figure to have dinner in the airport. I know Montreal bagels are good but we get that here. I hear the meats and cold cuts are good. But I will have to find a good spot for Poutine (sp?). I hear THAT is the bomb!

  14. Hello, Title is certainly confusing. Here is the short story.

We are flying Fort Lauderdale to Rome with a layover in Montreal. First leg to Montreal is Air Canada Rouge then Air Canada NS to Rome. Great fare on Celebrity's ChoiceAir.

The question is: Can I assume that Air Canada will transfer my luggage from the Rouge flight to the ongoing Air Canada flight? Somewhere on Air Canada's website there was a bit about collecting your own luggage and having to go thru the check in procedure in Montreal again. I understand we need to visit Canadian border control but would hate to lug the luggage out and then back in.

I called Air Canada and actually got a person but I was unimpressed with the lack of understanding.

And, what to eat in Montreal's airport? Any suggestions?

    Thanks

  15. Thanks, Euro. It bothered us that EVERYONE got off including the driver at Venezia. I guess the passengers go to the front of line of buses? But you do not have to walk up to the main street to continue on????

  16. Oh, that's interesting. Cruise Critic blocked out part of the name of one of the streets in Rome. Gee, it is only a combination of letters which mean nothing like what they stand for if they were set apart!:cool:

  17. We have been to Rome a number of times. Sometimes we get the ROMA pass, sometimes we just pay for the bus as we go, and sometimes we cab it. Now with Uber we have a fourth choice.

But, if we were to stick with bus in Rome, I have yet to figure this out and I hope there are a few of you who have.

We stay near Piazza Navona so we have lots of choices. When going Eastward, we usually end up on the 64 or 40 (are those the right numbers?). But each time, the bus seems to terminate at Piazza Venezia. The question is: How to continue further East, especially on ****onale or northerly to Villa Borghese? The buses queued up by Piazza Venezia just seem to sit forever.

    Thanks!
