  1. I had an experience similar to the OP.  Booked directly with Princess twice, both were cancelled with no notification.  So I went to a TA.  But, interestingly, I was told by 2 Princess employees (Future Cruise person on the ship, and a local Princess tour guide) that you should always transfer any bookings made directly with Princess to your TA.  Lesson learned!

  2. Actually, flights are already being posted.  The friend I'm travelling with (both cruises) lives in a different city and we've found it's much easier to book with both of us and conference calls can be problematic.  We do our research first but this would be a good time to sit with a sales person and discuss options.

Yes, I’m waiting, no I don’t have an idea.

Particularly waiting for August, 2026, cruises around Iceland, northwestern Spain, or the western Med, at the time of the solar eclipse.

Cunard and Princess have already announced theirs.

While Celebrity would probably be my first choice for an eclipse cruise, I'll probably be booking with Princess again, especially if Celebrity won't be announcing theirs til sometime this winter!

    Woo hoo!

Each of our totals now reflect 3 more club points for the webinar.

Coincidentally these points were received on the same day as the club points for our recent sailing we debarked from a week ago today.

We also both received our additional day’s worth of points for participating in Celebrity's Go Green program.
Today we also made a deposit on the Mardi Gras 2026 cruise.  Yay!

So, when is the next Power Up Points opportunity?🤣

Just out of curiosity....how do you sign up for Celebrity's Go Green program?

    Thanks,

    Diane

  5. I was on the waitlist about a week before final payment on January 4.  Had some problems with it however - had a conf #, got a cabin then it was cancelled with NO notification.  Called Princess again, got a new conf #, etc,. And a day later it was also cancelled with NO notification.  So I went to a travel agent and they have this cruise as one of their Concierge Cruises.  I was able to book through them with no further problems. So you might try there. But if you get on the waitlist watch it like a hawk.  Weird things happen!

  6. Just did this cruise a few weeks ago. I'm pretty sure the instructions were to put bags in the hall by 10PM.  We went on an excursion (Lantern Walk at Butchart Gardens) and were due back before 10PM but someone on our bus accidentally got on another bus and we waited for half an hour for their return.  So, got back to the ship later than planned. We hadn't put our bags out prior to excursion but did as soon as we returned (we weren't the only ones) and didn't have a problem. Sorry to have caused extra work for the attendants, though.

  7. On the Eclipse in February they had a few "Fun Dance Classes" on the pool deck.  Even though they weren't called Zumba (I'm assuming some sort of trademark issue) the classes were basically Zumba classes.  Fun!  Not sure if any other ships do that.

3- As long as you keep one of the original persons on your reservation you can change any other persons with no added cost

4- If you were to substitute someone else for your SIL, then she would have no insurance claim since her reservation was used.  Thus whoever you substitute would need to reimburse her.

    Good to know - Thanks!

  9.  I have a cruise in a few weeks and my travel buddy (SIL) has injured her knee and can't go.  I have some questions that hopefully someone here has experience with.

1 - If SIL successfully makes an insurance claim (TBD) how, if at all, does that affect my portion of the cruise?

2 - If she is just a no show, how do we notify Celebrity? We haven't talked to them yet.  And will that affect my portion?

3 - If I find someone to take her place, how is that done through Celebrity?  Additional costs, considering we are past final payment date?

4 - Anything else I should be aware of or look into?

Thanks for your help and/or comments.

Yes, yes we do exist (electrical)!  Did the full transit about 10 years ago and spent the day running around the ship to check out all the views.  Also read "The Path Between the Seas" which provided lots of history and background. I'd love to do the east to west itinerary next time.

  11. I also cruised with a group onboard about 5 years ago.  As others have said, they were mostly in meetings during the day so other venues weren't crowded. It seems to me they had their own excursions, which were duplicates of excursions that the other guests could book. I also got the impression that a lot of them are solo cruisers.  I was sailing solo and was asked quite a few times if I was with them (which I wasn't).
