  1. We're going to be on St. Kitts on April 1. I called the Marriott earlier this week and asked about day passes. You can pay $35 per person which will give you access to the property and that's it. I ended up reserving a day room for $125. We prefer to have a room where we can leave our things while we're at the beach/pool and then take a shower before returning to the ship. We've done this on every Caribbean cruise. As a matter of fact we're also doing it on St. Maarten on this cruise. I booked a day room at the Weston Dawn Beach. We did it last year and the hotel is great.

  2. O2B-when you say few amenities, does that include bathrooms? We're not looking for a beach club, but rather a beautiful beach and water. We're not unsocialble, but rather enjoy the beauty of the beaches and water. When we went to Magens Bay yrs ago we thought maybe we were missing something. The water was nice, but I've been to better beaches on Bermuda and in Greece.

  3. We went to Water Island in July 1986 and it was beautiful. We rented a private villa that was magnificent and yes, we heard it was destroyed by a hurricane in 1987. We'll be with our daughter and thought it would be nice to show her where we honeymooned. When we were there it felt like we had the island all to ourselves. I don't even remember anyone else on the beach with us.

If we decide to not to go there can you recommend a quiet (is there really one) on St Thomas? We don't like crowds and have done the Megans Bay beach and were not impressed. We've been to the BVI but I'm hesitant to risk missing the ship if we go over there. We loved Virgin Gorda-we went to the Baths.

    Thanks for your help.

  4. Has anyone been to Water Island recently? How was the ferry over to the island? We went on our honeymoon there 28 yrs ago and want go to the beach while we're docked on St. thomas next month but want to make sure is feasible to do. thanks.

  5. We prefer assigned seating as that's the best way to meet people. We love the service on Celebrity but the price difference with NCL is astounding. We can get a mini-suite for less than the cost of a regular cabin on Celebrity. What is select dining and what package are you referring to? Thanks.

  6. My husband , daughter and I are looking for a cruise to Bermuda. I was looming at prices on the NCL breakaway and compared them to celebrity. In the last we've always sailed on celebrity and we love them. But I found that NCLs prices are much less than celebrity. Can someone shed some light as to what the difference is between the two lines? Prices are close to $900 less per person. That is a lot of money. Thanks.
