Just wanted to confirm about the supper club. I just got off the phone with group dining and asked about the supper club and if there was a cost to go to the dinner and show. She said reservations are only done onboard and that there is a cost. Anyone been onboard lately that can confirm if there is a cost or not. Wouldn’t be the first time a NCL rep misquoted a price, policy, or directions.

In the Daily above (first sea day-jazz tribute) it says complimentary. We haven’t done it before ourselves but will be on the ship in 5 weeks (interested in seeing how folks liked it or not etc)

Are you sure this would happen? (NCL refunding you if they change their vaxx policy). I have a few weeks to decide before making final payment for Jan cruise.

    thanks

Based on prior NCL history-looks promising. Using the way back time machine, NCL posted this response in their FAQs from April 2021-August 2021:

Yes, if a guest has an active reservation as of April 5, 2021 for a cruise with a vaccination requirement (currently all sailings through October 31, 2021), that the guest is unable to comply with; guest will be permitted to apply the full value of all amounts paid to a new future cruise credit or, at their  discretion, be provided a cash refund in an amount equal to their original cash payment by visiting https://www.ncl.com/case-submission. For reservations that were made on or after April 6, 2021 the refund amount will be subject to Norwegian’s cancelation fee policy communicated to our guests at time of booking and can be found on our website https://www.ncl.com/about/cancellation-fee-schedule

  3. My question now (maybe I should pose in a separate new post) is at final payment, I agree to the cruise contract terms which reference the website Covid policy.

What happens if NCL updates the policy to require say, original shots plus 2 boosters etc by the time of my sailing and thus changing the terms agreed to at final payment. Is someone eligible for a refund because they don’t agree to the NEW terms of requirements for embarkation that have now been changed?

  4. In the same boat as you—booked 2 weeks later at the end of January. Very hopeful to be able to cruise again but will wait to the last minute to decide at final payment deadline.

I am hoping that they will drop the testing requirements as well since CDC relaxed their suggestions recently (no need to screen if no symptoms and unvaxxed and vaxxed are treated equally).

Need to stop using the V word anyway.

I took advantage of the recent 15% off offer to book cruises in 2022 and 2023.   I didn't feel safe booking anything for 2021.

Just did the same thing on Monday. Had 2 CruiseNext certificates expiring in 2022, so NCL changed them so I could use them for a late January 2023 Escape cruise out of Florida. Didn’t want to take a chance and fly anywhere so wanted to choose something drivable.  Still have a Celebrity cruise in the books for January 2022, will see.

2021 will be a cross county motorcycle trip on the GoldWing instead of a Baltic cruise for our 30th.

Thanks for posting!  Glad you enjoyed it.  I was starting to become a bit concerned about an upcoming trip on the Encore due to negative reviews so i'm happy to also hear some positive ones.   Did you feel a lot of movement/rocking?   I’ve seen that mentioned in some posts  without indicating weather being a factor so i'm wondering if it is always rocky.

    Thanks again for your post.

We had the smoother seas I have ever seen in my January/February cruises on this sailing. I didn’t notice the movement but heard several comments from people complaining about it while onboard. I was on Deck 8 near Food Republic.

Regardless, I think most X cruisers will enjoy NCL though there may be a few things that aren't quite up to par.  The biggest adjustment is probably the megaship, but as I and other said, that would go for sailing a megaship of any line.

I agree. Love Celebrity but have done the last 2 cruises on NCL (have Encore in January and Equinox on Jan 2021) and have been happy with the cruise. Again I love variety and to me it’s fun to switch things up from time to time. I also go for value and Celebrity has been high lately....and those CruiseNext offers on NCL are pretty nice.

  8. We just did our first balcony gty on the Escape, booked 21 days out. Rate was too good to pass up and we didn’t care where we were, we just wanted a balcony to Bermuda.  Ended up with Large Balcony 9114. Front of the ship, long walk but liked the deck location and the room was nice.  Happy with our gamble.

Besides facebook messenger can you browse and post on Facebook itself with only the social media package?

Yes - my wife did this on our trip...could do everything but surf the web and check email. (However there was a few days where we could- the firewall gate was left open accidentally or something)

  10. On our Rhapsody Greek cruise a few years ago, RCCl ran a promo for new bookings to have the basic (at the time) beer/wine drink package included. We all had our TA get this ‘perk’ included in our reservation (didn’t have it before...and no change in price for the cruise)...so for us it was essentially free.

Then we were able to upgrade to the deluxe package onboard for $15 day ($300 total for wife and I on 10 day cruise).  Well worth it!

  11. What was weird with our OBC was that we had $150 from NCL and $325 from our TA.  Once onboard BOTH were shown as refundable (I expected the TA OBC to be...not NCL).   I spent it all anyway so it didn’t matter but I was surprised to see it all as refundable.

Hi there, I have a question. Because of a post I saw in CC, I purchased the Nationwide Luxury Plan for my cruise in Jan. I am treating my daughter and her family to this cruise, so I purchased the insurance for all 6 of us. Low and behold a few weeks after purchasing the insurance I got an e-mail that our itinerary was changed. I contacted Nationwide and I have the claim form to fill out. I know I will need the final bills from us, and my daughter's family. I know I also need the original itinerary, and the e-mail that states the new itinerary. I was just wondering will they try and give me the run a round? This will be the first time I have ever filed a claim for insurance. Thanks, Cathy

I wouldn’t think so. This happened on my first claim...itinerary changed and we still cruised despite the change. Got $1250 each for luxury plan. Check came about 10 days after submitting.  Save everything including the credit card bill or check for final payment of the cruise (part of documentation requested).

I am looking at insurance policies through insuremytrip.com

I seem to be leaning toward a policy offered by Nationwide.

Does anyone have experience with Nationwide?  Would you use them again?

My main focus is on medical coverage.  Does anyone a range for the cost of medical evacuation while on a Caribbean cruise?

    Thanks

Use them all the time. Paid on 2 claims in a row and just submitted another one this week (all port/itinerary changes benefit).  Great overall coverage on everything else too.

  14. Logged in and looked at sale items but this offer wasn't there, I take it I am not eligible or still worth a phone call? The only dining offer was a discounted package on 3 speciality restaurants - 2 dinners, 1 lunch.

Same here...no where to add to the online shopping cart. I added a shore excursion no problem. So I just called and got it done using some remaining OBC.

  15. I called my Celebrity vacation planner, Ryan. I purchased the upgrade for me and saved about $30 for the March 15th cruise. He laughed when I told him I could complete the transaction myself and told me to just call him when I want to buy anything.

I just spoke to a “Ryan”, I couldn’t see where I could do the upgrade online (wasn’t available to add to the cart-jet a banner advertising the sale). Hated to waste his time for something that should be doable online but he was able to use my OBC to get it done.
