And the living conditions of the crew make social distancing even more of a problem for them than for passengers.

This is a major problem that is bothering me. It did have a large influence on us deferring our Christmas cruise for a year. I can't see how they are going to accommodate the crew, the living space is cramped now and presuming they are going to need more crew for the extra cleaning, and service in the buffet, where will they put them, 3 in the tiny cabins they have wouldn't be acceptable even with regular testing. No doubt a solution will be found but will it be acceptable to the paying guest?

what you have read is not by the cruise companies just people making assumptions, we have 3 cruises booked and have not read anything official yet about what the onboard experience will be like.

I agree with  you everything could be pretty much as normal, but at no cost I'm not prepared to risk a less than enjoyable time. I'm taking a break to a hotel I've been to before and already contacted them re their restrictions. If the reports on cruising are favourable when it restarts we will cruise earlier next year.

  3. We will cruise next year, after 2 cancellations this year and losing Oceana next year we decided to defer the Christmas cruise on Azura till next year taking advantage of the P&O offer. We're going on a Warner holiday in the IOW in 2 weeks to replace a holiday in Spain that was cancelled. Also booked a couple of weeks in Barbados over Chrimbo and New year this year.

It's not the idea of going away  that bothers us, whether it be on plane or ship it's not knowing what the changes on the cruise will be, don't fancy being restricted the way I've read we could be, so defer for a year and see, in the mean time we will holiday.

    Absolutely gutted.

Spoke to doctor and my Heart Attack in December where I got a stent fitted and feel very fit is classed as Chronic Heart Disease.

We have had to cancel our Azura Transatlantic cruise next week as per Government advice!!

Sorry to hear this mate, we've had to do the same my COPD and the gaffers Type2 have stuffed us. have rebooked for the same cruise next year. Mean time booked an 11 day trip to Cyprus on the 24th, I'am going away

  5. Just had my mail for our cruise next week, extra £400 OB,  plus the new cancellation terms. Seems pretty reasonable to me.

FCC to be used by 31/12/2021 for cruises up to end March 2022 is a goodly time frame. We are going unless P&O cancel but can't see that on a reposition cruise.

  6. For your first cruise I would say midships as you're not going to know if you will suffer seasickness at all. There is less rock in the middle of the ship than forward or aft therefore less susceptibility to motion sickness. Neither the manager nor I suffer and prefer an aft balcony love watching the wake.

  7. Cabins for sure not rooms or staterooms...ships if I'm on a boat some junior officer is taking me ashore... definitely a deck not a floor (love the one about the ground floor).Port and Starboard Forard and Aft not the alternatives. I don't have brunch either always a late breakfast

  8. I can't really answer that we would stay in the same area but a couple of decks higher but that's us I wouldn't be bothered if I'd got those cabins personaly, you won't have a restricted view and it's not far to the lifts from were you are all good, one thing to remember no stairs midships, so if you decide to go down the stairs you need to walk aft.
