  1. Just saw this and hoping to get opinions as to whether it is worth it or not to you?

    Norwegian: New All-Inclusive Package

    on 30 July 2014.

Norwegian Cruise Line is debuting a new All-Inclusive package, providing guests another way to customize their cruise vacation.

Representing more than $2,400 in value per stateroom, Norwegian’s All-Inclusive package is a first for major cruise lines, and is available for a limited time for all 2015 sailings fleetwide (see fine print), for new reservations made from August 4, 2014 through August 29, 2014. The comprehensive package includes signature dining, alcoholic beverages, unlimited soda, shore excursions, internet access, service charges and more.

“Based on the popularity of our Fly, Cruise and Stay vacations, along with our onboard dining and beverage packages, we are now offering the first All-Inclusive package for our guests who want to experience all that the freedom and flexibility of Freestyle Cruising has to offer,” said Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line’s chief executive officer. “Always an innovator, we are making it easy for those that want everything included in their cruise vacation with the option of our All-Inclusive package.”

The All-Inclusive package is available for 2015 sailings from three to 14 days in length, is priced by the number of days, and is available for all stateroom categories, including the Haven by Norwegian. When adding the All-Inclusive to a selected cruise, guests receive 10 percent off the cruise fare.

For a seven-day cruise, the $899 package includes the Ultimate Dining package; the Ultimate Beverage package; shore excursion credit of $200 per person, pre-paid daily service charges; a 250-minute Internet package per person; 20 photos of any size; chocolate-covered strawberries; a bottle of wine; one bingo session and six bottles of water. For cruises from three to five days, the shore excursion credit is $100 per person; and for sailings from 9-14 days, the package includes 12 bottles of water.

As part of the All-Inclusive offer, Norwegian’s Ultimate Dining package provides complimentary access to one of the line’s specialty restaurants every night of the cruise, including Cagney’s, the popular steakhouse; French bistro, Italian restaurant, Moderno Churrascaria, Asian-Fusion restaurant and more. The Ultimate Beverage package includes a variety of spirits, cocktails, draft beer, bottled beer and glasses of wine up to $10 and unlimited fountain soda and juices at all bars, lounges, restaurants and on Norwegian’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay.

Norwegian Cruise Line has extended the deadline for booking its all-inclusive package to September 30. Among other amenities, the $899 per person, seven-night package comes with a 10 percent cruise fare discount, six bottles of water, shore excursion credit of up to $200, 250 minutes prepaid Internet access, as well as the ultimate beverage and ultimate dining packages.

  2. I was on the breakaway last week and dined about 7 times on the waterfront. My wife and I were by ourselves out there 6 of the 7 times. It was wonderful having a massive balcony to ourselves almost nightly.

Even maltings and shakers were relatively quiet. It was the perfect place for the sail away, dinner, fireworks a morning coffee and pastries or just sitting down outside.

It was the polar opposite of the crowded pool area.

Has anyone else found the same thing on their trips on the BA or GA?

What about all the reviews, Big Ship, crowds, lines, too many people.

  3. This is something I want to try too so I found this review last week and copied this section to a word document that I'm keeping of notes from other's reviews, lol. Yes, I'm a Type A Personality!

    Cupcake Decorating Class

Some advise here book early. This class is only offered once during the cruise and there is limited space. Since we had reservations, we got in. We saw lots of people walking up and trying to join. They were denied entry, because the class was full. The price was $39. It included the class, a Carlo's Bakery Apron, a picture with the Cake Boss (he's not there they green screen it), and the 4 cupcakes you decorate. Not a bad deal considering ship prices the picture alone would be $20. The class begins with a video from the Cake Boss welcoming you to the class. You are given 4 cupcakes, a turntable, icing bags, sprinkles and decorations. A chef is there and he demonstrates on a cupcake then you go back to your station and do it. And then he does the next one and so on. It looks easy, mine aren't going to look like that. They actually didn't look to bad. After we were done we walked our plates to the green screen. That's when my chocolate cupcake took a nose dive on to the floor. It was a big mess of frosting. I picked it up as the staff started to clean up the mess. After the picture. They hand you a cupcake decorating certificate. And box up your cupcakes to deliver to your room. The staff replaced my ruined cupcake with the one the chef made. All in all I would highly recommend this activity.

The class was canceled on our trip, June 1, 2014, due to lack of interest. We try to sign up for it, and was told about the cancelation.

  4. Good day all, They are looking to implement the following for $899.00 per person. Offer applicable to 7-day most 2015 cruises visiting 3 ports (so it looks like Bermuda is out)

If you buy this package you get an extra 10% off of your cruise fare.

    Ultimate Beverage package (including tip)

    Ultimate Dining Package

1 shore excursion per port (3 port stops $80.00 per)

    250 minute internet package

    Prepaid gratuities

    Bottle of wine

20 photo package (it said all sizes)

    Chocolate covered strawberries

Supposedly a savings of over $300.00 (should be over $1200.00 price point is $899.00 and looks to be "a limited time only offer" good for most 2015 cruises.

    I got one also........

  5. Any info on the street festival that happens in the vicinity of the Dockyard - not to be confused with Harbour Nights in Hamilton. This is something that happens right at/near the dockyard area... late on Wed night??? Last week someone mentioned something in their review, but the details were vague as they did not attend. I believe they said it was from 11p-3a; any info would be great.. thanks.

PS - HAVE A FANTASTIC TIME - will be watching your sailaway and arrival in Bermuda!!! :D

Fresh off the Breakaway, The street fair was in Hamilton on Wednesday only, from about 6 PM to 10 PM, it is not connected with Harbour Nights which is Wed, Thur, Fri. nights. There was no functions in the Dockyard area.

In regards to Tickets/Passes, they are available in the Trailer at the Dock and the Visitor Center in front of the ferry boats.

  6. Wonderful review, thank you. I love the Breakaway and love the privacy and comforts afforded by The Haven. Am considering a forward penthouse in the future and curious as to how much you felt the motion of the ship?

    Tracy

On day 2 it did not matter where your room was, the ship was rocking and rolling, seas were 16 foot rolling waves(per the captain)

A lot were sea sick, and staff provided sea sick pills, green apples, and ginger ale.

Quote from Dr Cocktail :TraceyE: Ship didn't move. Period. You would have never known that you were on the North Atlantic.

  7. We're sailing in one week in a Haven two-bedroom suite on the Breakaway. I've promised my family no crowds in the Haven courtyard and that for once we'll actually have a chair at the pool... But after reading some posts on here about chair hogs, etc., I'm worried the Haven will be crowded too... We usually eat breakfast as late as we can and then change and head to the pool, so maybe 11:00 or so. Can anyone provide input on how crowded the Haven pool area is around this time? Are my thoughts of pool bliss overly optimistic??

    Just off the Breakaway Today

  8. Surfing the net I found a webpage from a cruise outlet regarding DASH sale beginning 5/17. Up to 250 OBC. It's not yet on their website so maybe its the ad they are going to use as of 5/17

    FREESTYLE DASH!!

    5/17/14 – 5/23/14

  9. Question...since you have to purchase the beverage package every day of your cruise, does that include the last day where you disembark by 10am or so? I would hate to pay $50 for alcohol for a day that doesn't have the opportunity to drink. Really.

Your Cruise goes by how many nights on board. ;)

  10. Good luck, jfried! Let us know anything you learn/manage to do. I might be calling my agency about this, as well. It's definitely worth trying anything I can.

My only hesitation about cancelling and rebooking is that we have a bump-out balcony from the free upgrade promo in February that we don't want to lose. The price I paid is also still the cheapest for that particular week, too. I dunno... might be worth it if it means getting a second cruise for free.

    No such thing as FREE

  11. The letter you receive from NCL states that it is a Special Thank-you from HSN & Norwegian Cruise Line. Plus when your reserve a Haven Suite you are eligible for a $100. OBC & Free UDP.

No where do they tell you it is not combinable with the current booking perks.

Do they think everyone is a fool to take this offer and lose Suite OBC & AARP discounts?

  12. We got our brochure in the mail but NCL can't find any HSN OBC in their system for us. I sent the letter to our rep and she and her supervisor are researching it.

    Anyone else have this issue?

I had the same issue, call the number in the letter and they will handle your problem, with good results. :)

  13. Desperate measures to fill the ships! I know I'll never book NCl early again. My cabin category, as well as many others (and there are many cabins left in most categories), have dropped considerably since I booked and made final payment, and now this. Just does not always pay to book early, especially breakaway/getaway apparently. Oh well, live and learn!

    Agreed!!!
